This was all I was trying to say earlier but obviously not very clearly. It's just strange to me sometimes that people's first reaction is to get into their political corners and prepare to duke it out. I'm sure this guy was stirred up by what happened in NYC and Ferguson, but why immediately single out certain individuals as being responsible for provoking this?

Just spent the whole day with him at a track meet and was thinking how important it is to have a father actively involved at this stage of is life. Such tough years for a kid - even harder than when I was young. I may actually make the trip to NY for the funeral to pay my respects...

I pay attention to different posters than maybe we all do. Even if I quote someone, it's the tone and tenor of it. KCitons didn't start it, I like the person who did make it a political issue, and I think they weren't wrong here, either.

I have much respect for the officers. Policy questions and RIP stuff maybe should be separate threads if it upsets people. I get that, too. I always thought it was callous when people politicked in an RIP thread. Just me. But I was doing the Rome in Rome thing.

Across the street from the hospital where two Brooklyn police officers were brought after being murdered, there were carnations and a makeshift memorial: a cardboard box and a handmade sign in marker reading, "R.I.P. NYPD." Hundreds of cops saluting as the bodies were rolled out with a full escort by highway patrol. Citizens were watching in shock from above on the subway station.

Throughout New York, the execution-style killing of these officers in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn has generated a near-universal sense of horror at the crime -- and sympathy for the victims.

"Now we have two families that's missing someone from the holidays," a Bedford-Stuyvesant resident told a local news station. "Where's your sense of humanity?"

Here is the problem where both sides have "blood on their hands". The TGOP have fostered such hate and discord towards the President of te United States and the lack of respect and trust that he deserves. That filters down to all govt positions.
The Left have fostered a hey everyone is a victim even if they are criminals to where no one has to take responsibility for their actions.

The biggest problem we have is that the media, has to be there first and then starts putting out opinions out there. Instead of just reporting the facts of the story. They promote the hysteria by trying to interview the crazies.

How you stop this direction. I am not sure, but it is going to have to be a very special person to bring this country back together. Or a very tragic event like 9/11. Hoping it's not the latter!
