Morris got 35 of his 50 yards on two carries. The Dallas offense was a complete #### show.I think they will stick with the run more going forward. Once they decided to pound the ball, Morris was going off. He ended the day at almost 5 yards per carry, but they abandoned the run after that long drive and missing the FG.
He got 45 yards on a single drive. That's a bad thing? He had three long runs on the same drive... so it doesn't count? It shows exactly how they could execute if they stick with the run. I seriously doubt that they make the same mistake twice.Morris got 35 of his 50 yards on two carries. The Dallas offense was a complete #### show.
No way on earth they start McFadden. It wasn't the RBs fault that their left tackle couldn't block. The coaches failed to give him any help. The constantly lined the rb up on the opposite side. It was awful, but McFadden is NOT the answer. They are probably going to start McFadden next week purely on pass blocking and dump offs. Dallas is ####ed and needs to preserve Dak at this point.
All I'm saying is the Cowboys offense was very bad the whole game. They got a TD in the first half, had one decent drive to open the second half and the rest of the game they were complete garbage. They had two decent drives the whole game, they need to reevaluate. He got 45 yards on a single drive. That's a bad thing? He had three long runs on the same drive... so it doesn't count? I think it was rather simple. They abandoned the run before they gave it a chance to work... Once they realized it did work, it was too late. And their left tackle needs help on pass plays if Smith doesn't come back. It was really that simple. They could've have any rb or te chip him... Or dump a few check downs right behind him to slow him down. Instead, they abandoned the run and let him pin his ears back on their transparent fill in LT. Unless McFadden can play LT or fill in for Sean Lee, he isn't going to be the difference maker. All I'm saying is the Cowboys offense was very bad the whole game. We probably wont know either way this upcoming Sunday. With how strong the Eagles look, Wentz could possibly blow the doors wide open in the first half and no one is worth playing. I wouldn't touch this backfield. My main concern is keeping Dak alive.I think it was rather simple. They abandoned the run before they gave it a chance to work... Practice probablyMy question is, what has Morris shown to be given the lead back job to keep McFadden on the bench without a touch until the end of the game?
4.8 yards per carry in his first start? My question is, what has Morris shown to be given the lead back job to keep McFadden on the bench without a touch until the end of the game?
Pretty much. In a game that went FUBAR due the the line, Morris really did nothing to lose the job and the others did nothing to take it away. One thing I'd like to see more from Dallas is more read-option/pistol formation, Morris excelled with it under Robert Griffin III and we know Dak can run it well. The Big Beef Line (3 TE) could help also.4.8 yards per carry in his first start?
You asked Iverson."Practice? We talkin' 'bout, practice? Not a game...not a game...not a game. We talkin' 'bout practice."
Whatever it is they have had plenty of time to evaluate. McFadden was inactive the whole season and barely saw the field in this last game.My question is, what has Morris shown to be given the lead back job to keep McFadden on the bench without a touch until the end of the game?
I've said this to friends before and maybe in this forum somewhere that we're going to look back and say, wow, we wasted a roster spot or two for a good part of this season. These guys would be a flex at best. Just think about how many free agents you missed out on or players you may have dropped to hold one or two of these guys. It's a fine move to avoid this backfield if you have other options. Looks like it'll be a slightly unpredictable mess.
I think this is the more pressing question. Losing the LT made the o-line weaker, thus restricting the running lanes and the running game. Morris didn't look bad, but without a strong o-line, no RB is going to work out.Smith out at left tackle is way more pressing. That was a disaster last weekend.
Because he's far from a lock to get 20+ touches and all the goal line work.I don't get how people aren't more encouraged by what they saw from Alf. Dominated the carries and averaged 4.8 with historically bad blocking from the backup LT.
While he can (and has) get gameflow'd, the goalline work is his. I saw no evidence that he'd lose that because the situation never arose... meaning if he's still the main back he's the main goal line guy also unless it's a passing situation.Because he's far from a lock to get 20+ touches and all the goal line work.
I am. Should get a more extensive look this week, and I would expect Cowboys to gameplan screens/runs to the left this time. With Clayborn dominating Green they ran right 100% of the time, they never ran at Greens' side.Is anyone holding Rod Smith one more week?
No offense but I don;t follow your logic. Too me it looks like a commitment to Alf this week until the wheels comes off.I am. Eagles may turn it into a shootout, which means more Rod Smith if Dallas gets behind big. If Dallas can keep it within a score, it benefits Alf because he's going to be the "thumper" and he did run passing routes so he can be used as a receptions threat. If Eagles go up 10+ that's going to be poor for Morris' outlook. No offense but I don;t follow your logic. Too me it looks like a commitment to Alf this week until the wheels comes off.
