"During the portion of practice open to the media, Alfred Morris took the first handoff from Dak Prescott."
Certainly not a definitive statement...

I own both. Murray was getting first reps too, now McKinnon is clearly the best of that backfield. The same will happen here.McFadden owners will believe that this is just another step in keeping McFadden super fresh down the stretch. No game time, minimal practice reps, that's what any smart team would do with their star secret weapon.

?This was cleared up a long time ago when their DC essentially said Morris had beaten out McFadden (before week 1). It's absolutely no surprise Morris is getting first-team reps.
That said, while I'm a Mo guy, who starts isn't a big deal. Still a lot to be determined.
I simply mean it's been clear since week 1 who Dallas views as their backup. I'm a Mo guy, but until we see how these guys perform, there's a lot to be determined.
If they view Morris as their backup, then they can keep him in that role.Football Jones said:I simply mean it's been clear since week 1 who Dallas views as their backup. I'm a Mo guy, but until we see how these guys perform, there's a lot to be determined.
Will they go hot-hand or will one of them take over? Mo gets the start, but what happens from there is open for debate.
I'm beginning to think this way too.JIMGET said:It kinda feels like Smith will be the answer...again, just a feeling, it's been that kind of year.
How many carries have McFadden and Smith gotten per game? They love Morris so much they have given him 2 carries a game.
He has?Smith has seen more action the last 2 weeks and has looked good... Hey lottery ticket at this point why not on a potent offense
I don't understand the logic of automatically thinking that DMC is superior.DMC owner. I think Morris gets first crack with DMC coming into spell him or a series here and there.
At the end of the day I think DMC is the superior back and will win the job if he actually has kept himself in good condition. I don't see anything special in Morris but ive been wrong plenty.
seriously, that might be the approach. I have morris in one league, mcfadden in another. Only looking at this as a lottery ticked, and in no way counting on anything coming out of this.I went with Smith in deeper leagues and am totally ignoring this backfield otherwise.

A source informed of the decision tells me Alfred Morris will start Sunday for the Cowboys at running back.

#2 Rod Smith #3 Darren McFadden on depth chart. All will get touches though
nothing has happened yetSo much for the popular theory they were resting DMC this whole time.
If you had a super rested secret weapon like McFadden, would you tip your hand before sunday? My guess is... they keep him incredibly rested on gameday too. That way, they have him for the Eagles game. Then, oh boy... they are going to unleash the beast. So much for the popular theory they were resting DMC this whole time.
Maybe the real strategy here is to keep him rested for the super bowl.nothing has happened yet
Best. Plan. EverMaybe the real strategy here is to keep him rested for the super bowl.
Down by 3, in the 4th quarter, with only 1:55 left on the clock. They will unleash a HB toss specifically designed for DMC to win the game.
He'll be well rested.
Brilliant.
The Zeke situation is like Josh Gordon in reverse.Hartliner said:Zeke was granted motion, will play Week 9 per rotoworld, Hold off on Morris, DMC, and Rod Smith for another week.

This is actually good news for people who picked up Morris or one of the other Dallas RBs. It means that Elliott won't be coming back until Week 16 at the earliest, so you'll get 2 free starts in the fantasy playoffs.Moot point thread again. Zeke is back.
So glad I used a pickup on Rod Smith. We only get 3 add/drops per week. Could have used that on Kittle to cover Ertz's bye week. What a ####-show.Hartliner said:Zeke was granted motion, will play Week 9 per rotoworld, Hold off on Morris, DMC, and Rod Smith for another week.
