Lawrence to the Seahawks 3 yr 42?!?? Mil

Dowdle to the Panthers

DLaw has been our best and consistent run stopper for 11 years. He’s is exactly the kinda guy you need to allow a truly devastating pass rushing to be on the opposite side.

This one will hurt the most.

I’m not sure how we field a team this year.

Micah is going to ask to leave soon.

Meh, he’s getting old, injured and is expensive, it was time.
Trade Parsons for a haul imo

I meant to add that I’m fine with the move. It’s just a bit of a changing of the guard with DLaw and Martin gone.

Unfortunately, from a teambuilding standpoint, I agree on getting rid of Parsons. I don’t like getting rid of that type of talent, but by the time we fix the mess all around him, he will be bruised and battered, especially after this season.

End of an Era. Was a very underrated player for a very long time. Should go in the Ring of Honor IMO. Great run defender.

Good get for Seattle

Also, if there ever was a time to trade Micah its literally now/this year.

It seems like we are being unfair to the Dallas Cowboys here.

Kenneth Murray Jr - seems like a decent signing with a decent value (6th round swap for a 7th). It is unlikely we would get a guy with Murray's grade in that draft spot.

People are lamenting the exit of Demarcus Lawrence but it was time. D. Law is a great Cowboy but he wasn't himself the last year and a half. It seems our staff is putting faith in Williams and/or Kneeland. Sam Williams, from everything I've seen, has the athleticism and ability to be, at minimum, what Lawrence was the last couple of years.

J. Williams from Denver was a great pick-up. He is young, cheap and has potential. Low risk signing with the potential of being a great add (stop gap for the next guy).

I don't love having Mingo in our 3WR sets and would think they'd look to add a WR in the draft.

Draft needs: RB/Edge/WR/IOL - the draft seems doable and I'm just saying... I don't mind what Dallas has done this off-season.

Crazy talk
Signed a $100 million deal and never had more than 6 sacks after that
Meh, sacks are a VASTLY overrated stat.
Would you say his 25 sacks in ‘17 and ‘18 had a large part in his $100 mil contract he signed early in ‘19 or no?
I'm sure they played a part. Sacks aren't a bad thing, but I think its incorrect to act like sacks are some end all be all stat. I'd argue 2023 was arguably the best year of Lawrence's career. He had 4 sacks that year, but created a solid amount of pressure, while being maybe the best run defender in the NFL.

On the flip side, you have someone like Leonard Floyd who gets a good amount of sacks but is mostly a liability as a player. Teams talk themselves into the sack number, then they get him and realize he's not a good player at all, he just gets some sacks, and they let him go to a new team, which is why he's on his 5th team in 7 years.

I get what you’re saying. But when he signed his last deal in Dallas he was the highest paid DE in football. I feel like they were paying him to flip the field…change the game. Being a good run stopping DE wasn’t that

I don't follow college ball too much, but I have heard RB is pretty deep this draft year. At what point will our new coach address this need?

I've gotta say that the CeeDee Lamb celebratory nose wipe has always been gross, stupid, and totally unnecessary. Just makes him look like a playoff-losing clown.

He will never not be admired for his grabbing his cell phone away from his date (who was swiping or looking or doing something nosy) on draft night and shaking his head at her as if to say, "I don't play like that."

I’ve never understood it honestly. Or even liked it. But it most certainly isn’t violent

It's very violent, if you are a booger. Imagine you are just hanging out on a nose hair, and then some hand comes along and smacks you out of nowhere, potentially knocking you loose and sending you plummeting to the ground.

We need to think of the kid boogers.

Yeah I have no idea what the meaning is? Certainly never thought there was any violent implication.

I did this two separate times along my work route today. Some differences between the two instances, but it went approximately like this.

Me: What do you think of that trade?
Cowboys fan: Don't know what you're talking about.
Me: Traded Lamb and Parsons?
Cowboys fan: 😐... They traded Lamb, AND Parsons?
Me: Yeah.
Cowboys fan: 😶
Me: ...😉
Cowboys fan: OH **** YOU.

Out with Cooper Rush, in with Joe Milton(2024 6th round pick for the Patriots).

Only played one game last year. 22 for 29 1 touchdown no interceptions
I think that's a sizeable upgrade. I think Rush stinks, and the fact he did anything at all, is a testament to Mike McCarthy being a lot better than he gets credit for, at least at getting stuff out of lesser talents on offense.

Every year I say this so let’s get it out of the way…..

ALWAYS DRAFT with this priority OL/DL/CB/Defense/Then offense. Make exceptions for generational talent (Randy Moss and TJ Watt :wall: )

We are great at drafting OL and TEs, the worst at drafting DTs. Trade for a DT that isn’t past his prime.

Eagles fan, I come in peace

I have my Dallas hot take for the draft. I wanted to get some reaction to it, but it feels like the a Jerry move.

With the 12th pick in the 2025 NFL draft, the Dallas Cowboys select Shedeur Sanders, QB Colorado

Im a SS fan. I think he will do well in the NFL if he can stop thinking everyone is out to get him. All that to say I like the pick and Ill layer on the second part of the hot take which would be Deion Sanders coming to coach Dallas to start the 2026 season. Yes, would need to buy out the CU contract, but all this feels a bit too perfect for Dallas.

Wow, if I was a Cowboy fan I would not be enthused by this post. As an Eagles fan I would not mind this so much at all. That is simply because I am not a fan of either of the Sanders. I believe it would be a huge mistake for ANY team to employ both Sanders at the same time. It also reeks of something Jerruh would do if the opportunity presented itself.

0% chance S. Sanders is drafted by the Cowboys.

Omarion Hampton, Tet McMillan, Mike Green or Mykel Williams make most sense to me at #12. I'd rather see Dallas take an RB later (K. Johnson, T. Henderson) and prefer trading out of the #12 for additional picks or players. I saw a teaser somewhere of Dallas trading pick 12 to Denver for Sutton and pick 20. I'd rather see a George Pickens and 21 for Dallas' 12.

Hoping Shedeur Sanders falls to 12 and Jerry can exercise some common sense.

I don’t want Sanders or any offensive player other than a dominate offensive lineman.

OL, OL, OL.

You have a great line you can have a bum at QB and still win. We have half of the equation.

Not sure there are any dominate offensive linemen in this draft but I agree with the sentiment. I think one guy that could be dominant is Josh Simmons, but he might take some additional time to recover from his knee injury. But talent wise, he might be the best OL in the draft. Agree though, I wouldn't want Sanders. Doesn't make sense for Dallas unless you're moving on from Prescott. I see the Cowboys going WR in a bunch of mock drafts, that doesn't make sense to me either. OL/DL those are the draft picks for me at #12 if I'm Dallas.

I’m sure there are several dominate offensive linemen in every single draft. The Cowboys are not great at much except picking offensive linemen, there’s a few we can develop.

If they dont take a offensive linesman I don't think they are going to include Dak in their future plans. The only way it makes sense if they want to rebuild in reverse, build from the outside in, neuter Prescotts numbers so that he signs cheap or leaves. Thats if he survives the tanking.

They arent trading Parsons so they cant think that they are too far away. They must have convinced Parsons of their plans otherwise he would be asking out on his podcast.

So were not trading Parsons and were not trading Lamb.

Will either of them be standing in two seasons if the course change works?

WTF are we doing?

If it means that we get the guy we want im down. The Cowboys are awesome at getting their guy. Theyre are criminally bad when that guy isnt there. They seem to always take a "safe" pick which limits the upside. (mediocracy)

ETA -
I went back and re-read the first page. :lmao: I forgot McCarthy isnt our coach and had to remind myself of who actually is.

Im not sure how to feel about that.
