This thing looks more and more like my first FF draft. Yep, there's someone in my division with possible the best team on the board... nope, not me. Yet.

I missed the chance when the first Cobra was selected, but I'll take it now, Nathan, a member of Mrs. Lindsay's First Grade Class, had this to say about the Cobra (M.L.F.G.C. classifies cobras generally, not specifically - Commish might want to take note and close out cobras)"The cobra is a large poisonous snake. It lives in warn weather like the Philippines, Southern Asia and Africa. The king cobra is the largest venomous snake in the world. Ok, my turn.

I figured I’d jump on the birdwagon and take the last of the big, mean, dangerous, flightless (read: heavy) birds.

Behold, the GREATER RHEA (Rhea americana).

The rheas are a South American cousin of the ostrich and they're about the same size as an emu, that is, about 6 feet tall and weighing around 150 pounds.

A rhea has a spur at its heel that looks like a smaller version of the horn on a cow. The rhea can kick with a force of 800 pounds per square inch, and an adult rhea has little to fear from any predator except man. It can also run at about 35-40 miles per hour (60 kph).

A worthy foe, and an excellent choice to fulfill the bird requirement.

If you're going to have a bird, it may as well kick at 800 pounds per square inch with a horn.

After I read what pick the commish made for us, I almost wanted to thank him. People dont realize how vicous these flightless birds are. When people get up in their business, the Cassowary is like #####, please get outta my face before I kill you. The Cassowary then backs it up with this nasty Kung Fu which is like #####, I told you to get out of my business, now take this :thumbup: Very nice!

All I could do was laugh when my fiance said: "First fantasy football, now deadly animals...whats next?" Hmm. Sometimes silence is the best option, lol.The scariest part of all was when I was reading a "My Little Pony" story to my daughter later that night and I started to consider if any of the 'ponies' were worth a 8th round draft pick....

You are one sick ******* if you think those lions are getting pleasure. Do you see the viciousnes of that, dare I say, bird? Those two predators are all over the lions/tigers/cats. The one cat is obiously crying from extruitating pain. I dont know how someone like yourself would find pleasure in that. There are a lot of sick people in the world, but to think those poor ole cats are getting nothing but "killed the #### out of" by the Cassowary's vicousness ... you sir are domented.Maybe I should take down the picture since it does depict #### killing ability and vicousness ninja-like ### kicking.

It is possible, I guess, if you have a family V-Chip installed or something that doesnt allow carnage of such a gross magnitude. The picture is not for the faint-hearted.JAA

Bryant, a draftnik from Mrs. Lindsay's First Grade Class, may be able to shed some light on the Killer Whale/Blue Whale debate:"The killer whale has powerful teeth and powerful jaws in the upper jaw. It sometimes eats penguins, seals, dolphins and large baleen whales. But it mainly eats fish like salmon and squid. More killer whales live in cooler waters like the North and South Pole. They can swim very fast, up to 30 miles per hour. When they dive, they usually go to 100-200 feet."

Bryant assumes, of course, that the reader knows a Blue Whale is a Baleen Whale (Balaenoptera musculus), and it's clear from Bryant's uses of the singular pronoun ("It sometimes eats . . .large baleen whales"; "It mainly eats fish . . . ") that a single Orca can easily eat a Blue Whale.

Random thoughts after reading this entire thread:1) I can't believe how long the spitting cobra lasted. Brilliant pick. This team stands a very good chance of fighting nothing but blinded opponents. You have to love an animal that can stand off at a distance, refusing to engage teeth or claw, and still do substantial damage. I picture a blinded african elephant, confused and enraged, accidentally maiming it's own team mates who in turn bite it in the nose depriving it of breath. I picture the Squid with the 18 inch eyeball being an irresitable target of a lifetime. I see the Harpy eagle flying blindly into the side of the cage. Brilliant2) It's Zimmerman, not Schlereth that Elway asked back.3) Laugh not at the finger monkey. Does it occur to any that a creature so small who continues to thrive might just know a thing or two about survival. I suspect we have a little Yoda in this critter. He could be the Jedi Master that trains his team mates to unexpected prowess. "Size matters not. Judge me by my size do you? Hmmmm....and well you should not."Yes the luminous being that is the Finger Monkey may just be infused with the force.Who can say but that this "littliest dragon" might not have studied Sun Tzu? The Flying fickle finger of fate monkey may yet rule over this blood sport. Disdain him at your own peril.

You not only need more posts to equal the fingermonkey, but the monkey now has more credibility after your statement about divisional leaders:Siberian Tiger, Kodiak Bear and Sumatran Rhinoceros OWNS Grizzly Bear, Tazmanian Devil and Mountain Gorilla.

At this point the Tiger and Great Hammerhead would be a draw but after my next sea pick, it won't even be a contest.

You'll be all "Wow, that team is all radical"
