Decent Sound pills or tubes other than Beats? (1 Viewer)

I need to buy 10-12 of these for some kids as awards for the end of the school year.  I have 1K to spend. The Beats are 229.00 and out of our price range so I am trying to find the best options for around 100.00 each if possible.  Don`t know much about these so any advice would be appreciated.

As an alternative, I find Marley speakers to have very solid and appealing sound compared to the other low cost options.  Depending on the audience may have more or less of a "cool" factor, but this is a good deal, 69 bucks, for whats usually 100.

I like the skull ones.  Just bought a $50 Bluetooth on the ear pair - they have an over the ear with better sound for $100, and the batteries last forever.

I have version 2 and have been very happy with it.  I have not experienced 3 yet

I have a JBL Charge 2+ .   Really happy with this.  I've had a few different portable bluetooth speakers.  I like that this one can also charge your phone in a pinch.   Sound is great.

I always like Wirecutter guides for things like this.

They looked at 78 of them in that guide, including Beats Pill.  Their top two recommendations are:

UE Roll 360 for $70

Logitech X300 for $57

The UE Roll is the one I'd get for kids due to being waterproof and versatile (has bungee cord that can be hung anywhere).

As with anything audio-related, I highly recommend going to audition them with your own ears prior to purchase.  I did all sorts of research about a year ago when I was in the market, and was all but pre-sold on the JBL after numerous product reviews and my past experience with all things JBL.  Went to buy at Best Buy and found it to sound absolutely terrible. 

Ended up doing some in-store listening and spent $10 less than I was going to on the JBL and bought the Sony (linked in my first post here) based on what my ears told me.
