Trade Brady... Hahaha. Seriously?
No one ever thinks it'll happen to a legend, until it does. But I thought Brady showed signs of age last year -- if he doesn't bounce back big time in 2014 it becomes thinkable.
No it is unthinkable to fans in New England. This would be a six sigma event.
If he gets traded it's because his play has declined and Garoppolo looks capable of taking over, in which case NE'ers won't be quite as upset.

GB benched a HOF QB for one with less than 60 career passes. Fans in GB got over it.
No GB traded a QB who said he was going to retire then didn't. Brady hasn't and won't handcuff the organization. He's never handcuffed them contractually, even when there were whispers of him frustrated about Welker he never said anything publicly. Unless he has a Montana/Manning-esk injury and Mallett or Garappolo show their worth or Pats finish dead last and want Winston, which is not in the realm of impossibilities but still not a realistic outcome, I don't see Brady just being shown the door.
True but they benched him before that or more accurately wouldn't let him compete for the job after he un-retired the first time. It was a circus with the team board meeting going on at the same time.

Then they traded him but wouldn't release him as he wished.

The Pats are used to players they like leaving so if his skills are weakened they should handle it better.

way too many in front of janis to consider him in redrafts. patient dynasty owners, on the other hand....he is most definitely worth a stash.
Just for clarification as the "OP"... guess I should have said this was for dynasty purposes.

Also... I'm in the camp of "pass on Adams, grab Janis late".
Abbrederis!
I think his ceiling is far lower than Janis'. I'm not sure how a limited athlete, yet decent chain-mover, excels in that offense. Could happen... worth a shot... but I'd rather invest in what amounts to a penny stock later in my drafts and go with Janis, whose measurables line up nicely to Jordy Nelson's (and in some cases, exceed them).

Jalen Saunders, WR/KR, NY Jets

Not a ton in front of him at the WR position. Decker is clearly ahead of everyone as the primary receiver, but I think Saunders can challenge Kerley in the slot. Also for leagues that reward KR yardage, etc, I think Saunders could be a nice deep league grab as a WR5/6.

He's not a game breaker, but I like his balance overall in the open field when I watch his film.

Decker and Amaro might draw enough coverage away from this kid for him to do a little damage.
heard good things about him in camp. His quickness may be able to make up or his physical limitations. However, I still like Enunwa for the job on the outside. Definitely a battle worth monitoring as Evans, Enunwa, and Ford are also quality candidates along with the incumbents Hill, Kerley, and Nelson. I've hear Jacoby Ford may be looking like that guy we thought he was a few years ago when Steve Smith comparisons were abundant

I'll be paying a lot of attention to notes on Damien Williams (RB MIA). Doesn't help that MIA also has Damian Williams (WR) in camp.

Rotoworld:

Devin Street - WR - Cowboys

ESPN Dallas considers rookie WR Devin Street a lock to make the 53-man roster.

Street will be hard pressed to earn a regular spot in the Cowboys' three-receiver set, but could see time on the outside if one of Dez Bryant or Terrance Williams gets injured. Cole Beasley is Dallas' primary slot receiver. Street is the favorite for snaps over Dwayne Harris in four-wide sets.

Love this pick late in rookie drafts. Some good buzz coming out of OTAs on Street.

Any Seattle locals have any watercooler info on Eric Pinkins? Just grabbed him at the very end (8th) of a rookie draft. He's a big hitter with speed (4.44 40) and behind a guy who's best value is on special teams (Jeron Johnson) and Kam Chancellor, who had hip surgery this offseason.

Chancellor's "ahead of schedule" and is inked through 2017, but a lot could happen here.

A insane member of my dynasty league, who is a Dolphins fan, drafted him in the 2nd round of our rookie draft. What are you and this guy seeing?

Another one of those "lottery ticket" types in the Colt Lyerla/AC Leonard mold.... but a RB.

Had some off-field issues that got him booted from the Sooner program. He's got great speed (4.45) and enough burst to explode through the line like a rocket. He's built like an "every down back" and can catch the ball.

Moreno showed up to camp out of shape, Thomas is garbage and Miller could be wasting a great opportunity.

I wouldn't draft the guy in the 2nd round of a rookie draft but later in the draft, absolutely.

Hadn't really looked at him until now, but he's got a decent profile without the character stuff. Probably more of a backup, but definitely someone worth watching in a situation without an obvious choice ahead of him.

I don't play any IDP leagues, but here's a sleeper tidbit for the IDPers...

Undrafted Safety Isaiah Lewis is making a very good impression early for the Bengals. I like his chances of making the team and wouldn't be surprised if he ends up being a starter in a couple years as only 1 other Safety (Shawn Williams) on the roster is under contract beyond 2015.

what's the scoop on Robert Herron? Seen him high on a few rankings early on, but he slipped in the draft despite 4.3 style wheels and Steve Smith comparisons. Is he worth a roster spot in larger leagues or even a draft pick?

In general I've found more options I'm favorable to as far as rookie WR. I think that being the slot WR on a McCown/Glennon/Lovie Smith lead team isn't the most appetizing choice for people. Couple that with his size and it's easier for people to take a chance on a Brandon Coleman even if things point to him not even breaking camp.

A Scout's Take on How Robert Herron Will Help the Tampa Bay Buccaneers By Bob Fox, Featured Columnist
May 25, 2014 http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2074546-a-scouts-take-on-how-robert-herron-will-help-the-tampa-bay-buccaneers
I had another opportunity to talk with scout Chris Landry on Steve Duemig's radio show on Friday. I wanted to get Landry's take regarding wide receiver Robert Herron, whom the Tampa Bay Buccaneers drafted in the sixth round of the 2014 NFLdraft a couple of weeks back.

Going into the draft, it was assumed that the Bucs would be looking to add to their depth chart at wide receiver—especially after the Bucs traded Mike Williams to the Buffalo Bills a month or so before the draft.

I wrote a story shortly after that trade which talked about why it would make sense to draft a wide receiver like Mike Evans of Texas A&M in the first round of the draft. That is precisely what the Bucs did on the first night of the draft on May 8.

But the Bucs were not done adding weapons for the passing game and quarterback Josh McCown. In Round 2, the Bucs selected tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins of Washington.

Then in the sixth round, the Bucs picked the 5'9", 193-pound Herron, who played his college football at Wyoming. As a member of theCowboys, Herron had a very nice career, as he had 152 receptions for 2,025 yards and 20 touchdowns.

Herron's quarterback at Wyoming was Brett Smith, whom the Bucs signed as an undrafted rookie free agent after the draft before releasing him earlier this week.

It was somewhat surprising that the Bucs were still able to selectHerron in the sixth round of the draft, as CBSSports.com had Herronranked as a fourth-round prospect.

Landry certainly was impressed with what Herron did at Wyoming:

"I love Robert Herron. No chance of him getting cut anytime soon. Trust me, he is a really good looking player. His body type is a lot likeSteve Smith. I don't want to put him in that category yet, but he's kind of got that lower body strength.

"I like him. He represented great value. At a need spot. I think he's a make-it guy. No question about it, particularly for this team. I think he can play a couple of spots. I'm excited about what he can be, even without his quarterback (Brett Smith) there."

Between free agency and the draft, all of a sudden Vincent Jackson has some company at wide receiver. The Bucs added former Florida Gator Louis Murphy via free agency, then added both Evans and Herron in the draft.

The tight end position has also been expanded, as the Bucs added Brandon Myers via free agency and then drafted Seferian-Jenkins to go along with Timothy Wright.

What does this all mean? Josh McCown has to be smiling ear to ear with these new additions to the passing game.

Based on Landry's take on Herron, that smile might get even bigger.
Another player they added was Charles Sims who is known as a good receiving RB. So there are a lot of new weapons in Tampa Bay and it will be interesting if Brett Smith makes the team as their 3rd QB as both he and Herron played together in Wyoming. If he does I would take that as a good sign for Herron should Smith ever start because of that past chemistry.

I could see Herron developing into a larger weapon in their offense maybe in a couple seasons. Jackson is only 31 entering the 2nd year of a 5 year contract. So as long as he keeps playing well and assuming the TE will play quite a bit there isn't much room for Herron to get opportunity of the second WR in targets and might be 5th or 6th behind the TE and RB in targets, especially this season.

Both Herron and Sims are being tried out for kick returns. Sims on kicks and Herron on punts during OTAs.

I saw a Albert Wilson (WR, chiefs) post here but the guy to watch for in KC is TE Demetrius Harris. Harris is a former basketball player at Wisconsin-Milwaukee, spent last year on the chiefs practice squad, he came to KC at 6'7'' 225 pounds and this year he has bumped that weight up to 257. Harris has 4.52 wheels, and even Andy Reid has mentioned that hes had a great camp and can tell hes been "living in the weight room." I can remember last season in OTAs he was creating some buzz but when it came to training camp and the pads came on, he began to have problems. This year, hes getting alot more buzz in OTAs and local media is constantly talking about him making athletic plays and impressing (seems like everyday he is a making a "leaping" grab or athletic grab), i'm hoping that continues once the pads come on. I think he has a shot to make the 53 man roster this year. He should know the playbook going into year 2, he spent a year in an NFL training program and has apparently has gotten stronger and gained weight, and he seems to be running with the 1st team offense regularly.

This may be the wrong place for this post since its Harris' "2nd year," but he never made the active roster and he participated in "rookie minicamp" so maybe he still counts as a rookie.

I'm not sure how to embed tweets specific to Harris, but here are some accounts that are covering Harris (and the chiefs) here in KC:

I took Jeff Janis in both dynasty leagues with a late pick. Go big or go home - he's an easy cut if nothing ever comes of it.

I forget who it is, but someone that covers the NFL (or perhaps just the Packers), claims this guy is a future hall of famer. :o

quite a bit of buzz on this guy... any chance he starts the season higher than 3rd on the depth chart though?

Considerably less than the chance he ends the season higher than 3rd on the depth chart.

I don't know the answer to that, but by the sound of it, yes I would think there is a chance, but that depends on if Harris shows well when the pads come on and if the other TEs are healthy. The TE position seems to be a big part in KC's offense but the TE group had troubles staying healthy last season (Fasano, Kelce), and if for whatever reason Kelce needs more time then I can see Harris having a chance starting higher than 3rd on the depth chart. According to Kelce himself, he just started running a week ago for the first time since September and his knee surgery apparently wasn't just a minor thing. I also think the offense and a TE-friendly QB is another plus for Harris. He has already seen some time with Alex Smith and has connected on a number of plays from what I've read.

The opportunity is there and I personally like his chances but I want to see how he looks in July and August before I really buy in. He's far from a sure thing but I picked him up for free in a couple leagues just to see what happens, if it doesn't work out then I can easily move on.

If you're interested here is a recent article on him from the KC Star: http://www.kansascity.com/sports/nfl/kansas-city-chiefs/article442582/Ex-basketball-player-Demetrius-Harris-trying-to-catch-on-with-Chiefs-at-tight-end.html

The Chiefs run a lot of two TE sets so even with Kelce healthy there's a chance for Harris (only Fasano standing in his way).

I like Kapri BIbbs, I own Ball in a deep league and he could stick around on the practice squad possibly and if Hillman continues to fumble he could be gone.

If you have the space, now is the time to add. You will have to wait a year, but it could be worth it.

In his final year in CFB, Bibbs:

  • Leads the nation in TDs (31)
  • Is 6th in rushing (1741)
  • Averaged 6.2 ypc
This in a conference which produced 5 2nd round picks. His own teammate Crockett Gilmore goes in Round 3.

Currently 3rd string RB, Denver Broncos. The Bills tried to sign him away from the Broncos PS, the Broncs said no and made him active.

Did I mention he had 31 TDs in one season?
