As @AAABatteries acutely stated, we seem to be in an era where the definition of words are irrelevant for some. I'd like to use this thread as a reference point for words I see being abused so we can perhaps encourage more accurate usage.
Socialism/socialist - is an economic and political system where workers or more frequently, the government, own the general means of production (i. e. farms, factories, tools, and raw materials). This can be achieved through decentralized and direct worker-ownership or centralized state-ownership of the means of production. This is different from capitalism, where the means of production are privately owned by capital holders.
Racist - someone who holds the belief that race is a fundamental determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race.
- of, relating to, or characterized by the systemic oppression of a racial group to the social, economic, and political advantage of another.
Pedophilia - a psychiatric disorder in which an adult or older adolescent experiences a primary or exclusive sexual attraction to prepubescent children.
Fascism - system of government led by a dictator who typically rules by forcefully and often violently suppressing opposition and criticism, controlling all industry and commerce, and promoting nationalism and often racism.
