Oh god, please no....
Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse, they start talking to Delhomme......ugh
Jake and the Mistake by the Lake.Sounds like a fit.WHY?
Who is he going to back up? If Quinn is gone, you have to think they are looking at Delhomme as the starter. He's not the worst backup you could have, but this move indicates to me that Holmgren wants to completely revamp the QB position in Cleveland with his own guys. Quinn could be out the door by the end of the week if they can find a trade partner.
Ain't gonna happen overnight. Have faith in Big Show, he knows what he's doing.Of course it's easy to see why Delhomme would trouble you.WHY?Very difficult to a Brownies fan these days..........![]()
He is the worst backup you can have. Hands down. Jake has lost the mental and physical aspect of the game. At this point if your #1 went down it would be more beneficial to your team and franchise to put in a rookie or your developmental QB. Jake brings you nothing, absolutely nothing to the table during a game.Edit to say: HOLY CRAP are they really considering signing him as their #1. No friggin way. He's not the worst backup you could have, but this move indicates to me that Holmgren wants to completely revamp the QB position in Cleveland with his own guys. Jake Delhomme is visiting the Browns today, and a source close to the situation has told me the Browns “want him bad.”
Jake the Mistake has a better ring to it.Jake and the Mistake by the Lake.Sounds like a fit.WHY?
it works out then, that's how they'll get him.http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/Browns...t-Delhomme.html

I guess Carr's probably a little better than Delhomme right now but Carr will be the backup unless Smith completely falls apart( please please I hope not :( ) So if Delhomme ends up being the Browns starter could be a long year.http://www.woio.com/global/story.asp?s=12125525Cleveland - Jake Delhomme, former Carolina Panthers quarterback, is in town meeting with the Browns about playing for them in 2010. However, he may not leave without signing a deal after telling 19 Action News sports reporter Mark Schwab he couldn't talk because he's "going to take a physical."
This doesn't guarantee he'll be a Brown this season, but it does mean the Browns are interested in his services. According to NFL.com's Jason La Canfora, Delhomme has scheduled a visit with New Orleans on Friday and Saturday.
Steve Smith was one of Delhomme's biggest supporters.Aardvarks said:Steve Smith #####in' in the huddle didn't help. Delhomme needs a change of scenery.
He's going to be a 'good' backup QB, ala Mark Brunell. I can't think of too many competent backup QBs in the league. Sorgi just signed with the NYG...Painter is Peyton's backup.Aardvarks said:Jake The Mistake is a bit harsh. I actually hoped the Titans would sign him.Jake played Pro Bowl football for a few years and almost won a Super Bowl. He's a leader. He just lost his swing the last couple years. Steve Smith #####in' in the huddle didn't help. Delhomme needs a change of scenery.I wish the Titans had inquired. We're stuck with Vince Young b/c of a senile, infatuated owner who insists VY is the answer. He's not. He can't lead.Jake can lead. I hope he makes a huge comeback with Cleveland and I hope the fans embrace him.

this can't be legitOffer from Clev 5 years at $6M a year and compete as a starter....according to NFL Network Total Access.
I don't know about this signing.
Wow Seneca Wallace and Delhomme. are they going to draft someone for the future? And does Brady Quinn go to KC?I don't know about this signing.
Jake doesn't scream 'WCO qb' to me...

I guess it doesn't matter, though. In 2009, the passing game was terrible and they only won when they ran the ball 80% of the time anyhow. Even that crew could hand it off 50 times I think.Like all of the Browns moves this offseason except this oneGod I wonder how much $$$ we're forking over for this guy. I'm sure he's being paid to start.I'm afraid to ask CAR homers to chime in on this...
Adam_Schefter For those wondering about Brady Quinn's future in Cleveland, consider: Browns paying Jake Delhomme starter money -- $7 million this season.

Unbelievable! What in the world is Holmgren thinking?Like all of the Browns moves this offseason except this oneGod I wonder how much $$$ we're forking over for this guy. I'm sure he's being paid to start.I'm afraid to ask CAR homers to chime in on this...

Do you have a couple of days free? Not sure why CLE fans are so upset.

I for one think Brady is better than Jake. Silly me.Point taken.Do you have a couple of days free? Not sure why CLE fans are so upset.

While I'm not a Brady Quinn enthusiast, Jake is horrible.......and Wallace is nothing to be excited about. The only thing that made Jake look serviceable was Steve Smith. What offensive firepower does Cleveland have again?
