From @MileHighReport:

-Injuries to D-Thomas and E-Decker are to the same leg as prior surgeries. That doesn't mean same injuries

From the Redzone:

Broncos first-round draft pick Demaryius Thomas came up limping after an awkward landing on a touchdown catch during Saturday's practice at Invesco Field according to Lindsay Jones of the Denver Post. Head athletic trainer Steve Antonopulos examined Thomas' left ankle.

From Denver Post:

INVESCO FIELD — Make more room in the crowded training room.

Rookie wide receiver Eric Decker has left Saturday evening practice with an injury to his left foot or ankle.

Decker was injured during a goal-line drill, and limped to the sideline while talking to head athletic trainer Steve Antonopulos. The trainers and a team doctor took Decker's left shoe off and examined Decker's foot and ankle before Decker headed to the locker room.

From Lindsay Jones of the Denver Post:

Broncos first-round draft pick Demaryius Thomas has joined his fellow rookie receiver, Eric Decker, in the training room.

Thomas came up limping after an awkward landing on a touchdown catch during Saturday's practice at Invesco Field. Head athletic trainer Steve Antonopulos examined Thomas' left ankle.

Thomas was able to walk on his own to the locker room.

Can we just call it a season and forfeit and wait till next year?

I think Bowlen's deal with the devil for our two SB victories has been redeemed.

According to Fox 31's Josina Anderson, Broncos rookie Demaryius Thomas' injury is indeed to his left foot, and it will be evaluated on Sunday.

Thomas' early-offseason fracture is still healing. Sunday's tests will reveal if the old injury has been aggravated or if there is a new injury. Thomas was able to walk off the field and into the locker room without assistance, so there's reasonable hope that the nature of the injury isn't serious. The snakebitten Broncos are also awaiting further word on Eric Decker, who sustained a left ankle injury in the same practice.

Source: Josina Anderson on Twitter

Eric Decker reportedly sustained a left ankle sprain in Saturday's practice as opposed to an aggravation of his Lisfranc fracture.

Finally a piece of relative good news for the Broncos. Decker will undergo an MRI as early as Sunday morning to gauge to the severity of the sprain. He's already behind after missing the entirety of offseason workouts.

The way I see the big picture unwinding is..............other team's that play the Broncos will start to lose players due to injury's from us! Victim 1 = Jacksonville, oh boy, there players better look out lol

Injury list continues to grow, trying to reach "a mile high", and hey with Dumervil's status its sure getting there quick.

Initial Diagnosis: Broncos' Eric Decker suffers ankle injury

Sunday, August 8th, 2010 9:21a.m. M.D.T

Broncos wide receiver, Eric Decker, was one of two young wideouts injured in the Broncos stadium practice on Saturday.

The 6-foot-2, 215 pound rookie prospect out of the University of Minnesota left the evening session at Invesco field limping.

Fans watched nervously in the stands as Decker had his left shoe removed by head trainer Steve Antonopolous, and had his foot/ankle region evaluated on the sidelines after a goal-line drill.

Those familiar with Decker’s injury history were likely more anxious knowing Decker is in the delicate stages of a comeback from a lisfranc injury to his left foot that prematurely ended his collegiate career last October.

In basic terms, a lisfranc injury is a sprain, fracture, or a dislocation of the midfoot region, or a combination occurence of all three for which there isn’t necessarily a guaranteed complete recovery.

After the Broncos Invesco practice, Fox31’s Josina Anderson learned that the initial diagnosis on Eric Decker’s injury was a left foot sprain.

Sources told Anderson that Decker would have an MRI scheduled for as early as Sunday.

Additionally, Anderson was told that pre-MRI results detected evidence of a previous high ankle sprain.

Prior to this latest injury, Decker was having a very good camp, especially when you consider training camp was his first official start of practice with his new pro team.

Before Demaryius Thomas had his recent training camp surge, several media members discussed how Decker shined early with plenty of sure-handed receptions.

However, Decker has had occasional rookie misreads as well.

Now the Broncos must wait to determine if there are any additional revelations from additional testing.

Initial Report: Broncos' Demaryius Thomas aggravates foot

Sunday August 8th, 2010; 7:54a.m. M.D.T

It was another training camp practice, and yet another day where more Denver Broncos players were added to the injury list.

The latest two: rookie wide receivers Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker.

Both players participated in the team’s evening session at Invesco field on Saturday.

Thomas was having a standout performance at the stadium before coming up lame on the tail end of a touchdown catch. Quarterback Kyle Orton later flanked Thomas on the bench in support as head trainer, Steve Antonopulos, examined Thomas’ left foot.

The good news is that Thomas did not need assistance to the locker room for further testing.

However, immediately after practice, Fox31’s Josina Anderson learned the early diagnosis on Thomas was an aggravated left foot injury. This is the same left foot that the young prospect out of Georgia Tech suffered a clean fracture on during a three-cone drill in a pre-draft workout and subsequently prevented him from participating in the NFL scouting combine the very next week.

Additionally, sources told Anderson that there was discussion of scheduling a CT scan on Thomas’ foot Sunday as extra precaution to determine with more certainty whether Thomas’ aggravation was being caused by old or new damage, a combination of both, and to what extent. The initial determination is that relatively speaking “it’s not that serious,” said a source.

A CT scan (Computed Tomography imaging) can be used to aid in the diagnosis of a foot or ankle problem as well. When it comes to diagnosis, it can be advantageous over other x-ray techniques in that it more definitively shows the shape and exact location of soft tissues and bones.

CT scans can be ordered for the following foot pathologies: fractures, tumors, arthritis, infections, and post-operative monitoring.

Fox31 will determine whether the test discussed Saturday evening was the actual test executed on Thomas Sunday, and if there are any additional revelations.

Out the outset of the Broncos training camp, and in the Tuesday Aug. 4 practice, Thomas struggled badly. He wasn’t demonstrating a 100 percent confidence in his ability nor in his foot.

He dropped various passes that day, and his focus and self-assuredness seem to wane a bit as practice went on.

The following day Thomas had a marked improvement in the morning practice. He explained to Anderson that it was because he wasn’t thinking as hard as the day before, adding, "I did a much better job of reading the coverages, whether it was Cover 2 or whatever."

From this past Wednesday where he rebounded in practice, to the session at Invesco on Saturday, Thomas was noticeably improving.

The 6-foot-3, 229 pound former Yellow Jacket had a verified 4.38s 40-yard dash prior to his initial fracture.

Now the Broncos must wait for the latest status on Thomas' troublesome left foot.

Fox 31s Josina Anderson reports that Broncos WR Eric Decker suffered a left foot sprain, not left ankle sprain like previously speculated.

Anderson also reports that a pre-MRI detected evidence of a previously existing high ankle sprain. In short, when Decker went down yesterday doctors found both a pre-existing high ankle sprain in addition to a left foot sprain. What does this all mean? If the MRI confirms aggravation of Decker's previous Lisfranc fracture he'll be looking at missing extended time. Any way you cut it things don't look good for Decker.

I think it might be time for Greek to hang 'em up. As I understand things, he's the reason Marshall wanted out. Greek has been a Bronco since 1976; I'm wondering if he might be a little too old-school.

Fox 31 Denver's Josina Anderson reports that Demaryius Thomas' left foot injury is an aggravation of his pre-Combine fracture.

Sunday's tests, including a CT scan, are expected to determine whether the soreness is from "old or new damage, a combination of both, and to what extent." One source tells Anderson the initial belief is that "it's not that serious." Thomas reportedly struggled early in camp, lacking confidence in his foot. The past two days, however, he had been coming on strong, highlighted by a pair of TD catches just prior to the re-injury. Source: Fox 31 KDVR Denver

Sounds about right. According to most reports, Thomas was dominating the past few practices including the scrimmage at Mile High, so he goes down.

Looking more and more like we need to stay far away from any Denver player this year.
Sounds like the time to buy to me. Everyone's assuming that this team falls apart without Marshall. It might, but it might not too. And if the offense is average some of those guys are going to be useful.I personally can't get on board with Moreno, but think one of the WRs there could have value. And all three can be had pretty late as of today (114, 128, 142 for Royal, Gaffney and Thomas respectively). That's the 10th, 11th and 12th rounds. Could do a lot worse for a WR4 or WR5 with upside. Buckhalter at 173 is a nice play too IMO as long as he returns to practice Tuesday as expected. And Orton at 195 is pretty much risk free, especially since he's looked great in camp.I personally like Gaffney and Thomas, but YMMV.

IDK man - I think this team really is in trouble. They got lucky last year to get off to a good start but they tanked late in the year. Now they're already super banged up and the team must be losing confidence. Their coach is a class A jerk moron. He thinks he is such hot **** that his "system" trumps talented players like Cutler and Marshall and Scheffler and Dez Bryant (drafted Demaryius Thomas over Dez).He turned Cutler/Marhsall into Tebow and a 5'7 CB. :o Then after acting all high and mighty like it's going to be all about "team first" guys, the first time he gets into trouble with some RB injuries, he goes and signs Landwhale White. Give me break McDunce!I'm staying far away from Broncos.

Denver's rookie WR Thomas has scar tissue in fractured foot

8/12/2010 3:46:16 PM

Mike Klis of the Denver Post reports that rookie wide receiver Demaryius Thomas looked great in both Friday's practice and Saturday's scrimmage until he suffered a setback to the fractured left foot which kept him out of commission for most of the offseason.

Unfortunately, the early word is Thomas tore up some scar tissue from the break. The scar tissue problem off the fractured foot happened to tight end Tony Scheffler a couple years back and he was placed in a boot for a few days.

Thomas seems to be the real deal, maybe a future Pro Bowler. Expectations for this year, however, must be tempered due to the foot injury.

Vic Lombardi of CBS 4 in Denver reports Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas has once again re-injured his left foot.

There's no word yet on the severity. Lombardi suggests it could be anything from scar tissue breaking up (routine) to another stress fracture (major). Thomas just returned to practice on Tuesday, so the setback suggests his foot may not have been ready for football action. We'll update as further information becomes available. Aug. 25 - 1:01 pm et

This poor kid can't get healthy. The sky is the limit, but in re-drafts, he has to be pretty close to becoming anything more than a late round flier in the deepest of leagues.

Broncos' Demaryius Thomas likely to miss Week One

Posted by Michael David Smith on August 25, 2010 5:27 PM ET

The good news for Broncos rookie receiver Demaryius Thomas is that he doesn't have a stress fracture. The bad news is that the foot is bothering him enough that he probably will miss the regular-season opener.

Thomas wasn't at practice today after injuring the foot yesterday, and Jeff Legwold of the Denver Post reports that the team initially feared Thomas could miss three or four months with a stress fracture in his left foot -- the same foot he injured during a pre-draft workout in February.

But an MRI revealed that Thomas does not have a stress fracture and apparently just has some problems with scar tissue from the previous injury.

Still, Thomas, who was taken with the 22nd pick in the first round of the draft, isn't expected to be ready to get back on the field in time for the September 12 opener against the Jaguars. For the Broncos, that's one more piece of bad injury news in a painful August.

Obviously a bump for Gaffney as he was already looking good and building chemistry with Orton.

How does this affect E Decker?

Does Royal become the WR2 opening day or will Decker be ready?

The best medical move for DEN now would be a lobotomy for Josh McDunce.

All they needed was a few additions to their defense but McDunce comes in and guts all the talent from the team and reaches for guys like Ayers, Alphonso Smith, Demaryius and Tebow. What a train wreck.

amazing no one has thought of this before...

(FFChamps) Demaryius Thomas does not have a stress fracture which was initially feared, but he may in fact have a loose screw in his surgically-repaired left foot, according to Vic Lombardi. Analysis: Thomas may need another surgery in the event that a screw did come loose, which would put him on the shelf even longer. Eddie Royal and either Brandon Lloyd or Jabar Gaffney will be Denvers starting receivers until Thomas is ready to hold a top role.

Deymarius Thomas could have loose screw in foot

| Source fanball.com

Updating earlier items, Vic Lombardi of CBS 4 Denver reports that the Broncos were worried a screw had come loose in Demaryius Thomas's foot.

Our View: Thomas doesn't have a stress fracture, which was the big concern. Still, a loose screw could cause another surgery for the big, but injury-prone, receiver. There's no confirmed timetable for a return, and Thomas's fantasy prospects are really falling off at this point. Consider him a deep-league flier at best.
