Democratic Debate (1 Viewer)

Lowest rated debate...so far.

Thanks Debbie - doing an awesome job as a Hillary's campaign chair.
They're going to be very miffed when the GOP wins the election because they actually motivated people to turn out. You win national elections by turning out your base.
Thats false. You win by capturing the center.
That didn't seem to be the case in 2012.

That isn't what happened in 2004, Tim. The GOP ran on anti-gay marriage initiatives in several states that turned out their base and that was fatal to Kerry in Ohio. More recently I would question how much more a centrist Obama was than either McCain or Romney, although you may be correct for those elections.

What I wrote is a general rule. Like all general rules there are lots of exceptions. But it remains a general rule: the candidate that best captures the moderate center usually wins. It's one of the first things they teach you in political science.

What's the 2nd thing? How to lie?

"Would you like to make that a combo?"
:lmao: Dude, what cracks me up most about your condescending attitude is that I've forgotten more about political science than you're ever gonna know.

How many people are really in the center? I know several that claim they are but talk to them for 15 minutes and they aren't. You really do win by motivating people to turn out and really only in the toss-up states. Some states are going blue and some red no matter what.
Yep it's all about getting asses of the couch.

This is a hilarious post given your position that Trump can create a dictatorship from our form of government.

Per my comments in the other thread, I hope you're right.

You like to think you know a lot but based on your postings you aren't as smart as you think in many areas including politics.

This is the grownups table. Kids are in the next room over; they're waiting for you.

Is that the table you sit at when you whine about people being condescending to you? I will leave that table for you Timmy.

Individual diary and like all diaries there, just the opinion of one person (not of Kos himself, his editors, or necessarily representative anyone other than the opinion of the writer).
So, you agree with the substance, but disagree with the messenger.

cool
Straw Man alert! Actually I don't agree with the substance. Not an enthusiastic supporter of DWS, but not among those calling for her to resign or step down.

Democrat debates are like liberal talk radio without the conservative polical junkies calling in to harass the radio host. Democrat debates = liberal talk radio that bans conservative call ins = BORING.

If you hold a debate, and no one even watched. Did it even happen?
It really is ridiculous what the DNC has done. Wish there was an opportunity during the debate(s) for O'Malley or Sanders to call them out on it.
Oops, last night's debate had best ratings since October:http://money.cnn.com/2016/01/18/media/nbc-democratic-debate-ratings/
So that's like being the fastest runner at Fat Camp, I guess....

Since October. It did not equal October. It was much closer to the same mediocre range that the middle two did. This is so bad that both MSNBC and Fox got DWS to stammer on this question within the course of a single hour.

I thought I read or heard that Sunday night gets more viewers than any other night.
You did - from the other debate thread:

re Dem debate: Sunday is the busiest nite for TV viewership (http://bit.ly/238R77U
Skewed because of shows like the Walking Dead.
Which wouldn't explain why last night's debate was the highest rated Democratic debate since October (unless you want to argue the Bernie and Hillary show drew some of the Walking Dead audience).

Well, if they are looking for braaaaaiins at least they picked the correct party debate.

There were only two debates since October before this one, so let's not pretend that beating a Tuesday night one in November and a Saturday night one in December during the long Christmas holiday is all that exciting.

10 million viewers is a pretty good number, and there were an additional 1.2 viewers who streamed it live on NBC News digital platforms. And on the east coast it was up against 60 minutes, which feature the Charlie Rose interview with Sean Penn regarding the actor's meeting with El Chapo and that drew 20.3 million viewers, http://www.thewrap.com/ratings-democratic-debate-nets-10-million-viewers-for-nbc-in-early-numbers/

Plus it should be mentioned again that the October debate drew 15 million, which was the most watched Democratic debate of all time. I don't where Sunday's debate ranked on the all time list, but probably near the top for the Democratic primaries.

Hope you didn't hurt your back digging the hole to set that bar Tim....it's getting further and further down. So, this is saying it's the best ratings of the three that have been held since October right? Wasn't one on NYD at like 3 am and the other on during NFL playoff games or some such?
