Democratic Debate (2 Viewers)

Really enjoyed it. Still love Bernie but for the first time in a long time I feel like I could actually stomach voting for Hillary if I had to

IMO best line was (believe it or not) when Bernie hammered home that he was the longest standing Independent in Congress ever.

What went on here to appeal to independents and anti-establishment (ie change) voter types?

This MSNBC panel and host are all from team Hillary - just bad work by the network.
Just thinking that, DWS saying that Hillary said she would break up the banks. Total bs.
She did say that
Really. Ok, apologies to Hillary and her fans if so.
Yes, after spending months attacking Bernie for saying it she has suddenly "adopted" this policy. After all Wall St. only cares what you actually do, not what you say.

Well that's a whole other issue. The transcript will tell the tale.

Well she didn't make any proposals, just said she would fight them along with fighting Putin and everyone else.

She said it yesterday in the townhall. It was complete absolute bull####, but she said it:

"But anybody who knows me, who thinks that they can influence me—name anything they’ve influenced me on. Just name one thing. I’m out here every day saying i’m going to shut them down. I’m going after them. I’m going to jail them if they should be jailed. I’m going to break them up. They’re not giving me very much money now, I can tell you that much. Fine with me."

Any specific proposals???

Right, she is completely full of ####.

Her husband is the politician singly most responsible for the condition of Wall St today

Checking in. Who won?
Round 1 - Bernie 10-8

Round 2 - Hillary 10-9

Round 3 - Bernie 10-9

Round 4 - Draw 10-10

Closing Statement - Bernie 10-9
I'm assuming rd 2 was foreign policy? That was probably 10-8 Clinton. She did out debate him in terms of having a weaker position - that being her being Hillary, in general.

And the crowd was really stacked for her. Must have been an expensive ticket !

Oh right, that. Same breath where she dares people to name one time where she was influenced. Ask Liz Warren.

Whom Hillary says she will bring on as an advisor in the OO!

It's nuts!

I'd never vote for a socialist, but Sanders might be my favorite candidate remaining on either side. Just his authenticity and passion is refreshing, and I believe he means it when he talks about getting the big money out of politics. He strikes me as the kind of person we wish all politicians would be -- principled public servants. Hillary must hate having to stand next to someone like that. Damn phony old cow.

Yup - I give her foreign policy. Would have gone 10-8 her, but as Bernie laid out, bad experience doesn't trump little experience. Bernie can easily counter this by stating he'll hire the right right people.

Bernie came off as more likable and more a candidate for the people. He got in subtle shots that put Clinton on the defense. She's good on defense but that doesn't play to an enlightened voter, only the morons. Hillary already has the moron demographic locked up.

In simple terms, how many Bernie voters switched to Hillary and vice versa? Bernie wins there. Undecideds sway was a push at worst for Bernie.

Came through strong tonight. Clear win for Bernie.

Well said...

Actually thought that exchange where neither rose to the bait to slam each other was kind of awesome. Both of these candidates have acquitted themselves very well tonight.

The high quality of that debate just underscores what a terrible thing she did in trying to quash the debates
America. Great debate

Short-term: Hillary makes up some ground in NH

Long-term: Bernie is a completely viable candidate who could go all the way and will gain national stature
You finish yet?

The number 1 reason to vote for Bernie is simple:

He will keep hammering on getting money out of politics.

Until that is done nothing will get done that matters.

This is not up for debate.

This is basically how I feel as well. Bernie (flawed as he may be) seems to genuinely want to make positive change. Every decision made and stance taken by Hillary over the past 40 years has been about personal advancement.

Just one man's opinion and maybe its unfair, but that's how it seems on the surface.

That being said, I think being president would kill Bernie. He's an old man.

The question I suppose is - can America agree to survive Bernie's style and policies for the time it takes him to clean up the big money campaign finance system? It would be nice to elect him based on all these $27 contributions to set the bar on how we expect our elected officials to operate.

Hillary's only like 4 years younger than he is. Probably kill her too.

You won't get money out of politics unless you severely limit the power of government. Campaign finance reform won't do it, it'll just shift the order in which favors are granted.

We survived Bush, Bernie would be a walk in the park.
