Denarius Moore - CIncinnatti Bengals (1 Viewer)

Crickets on Moore.

Hard to play him. Damn. Feel like there's risk he exits the game.

Feel like I'm stuck going with B. Lloyd and Clemens. Bleeeeech.

He's too risky to play at this point. The fact that he will not be used in the return game could indicate that he still isn't 100%.

Very tough call with Moore. I wish I had been able to see him play last week to gauge where he is...Beyond that he has really only had one break out game this year. It's not like we are talking about Jerry Rice or Randy Moss here. A lot of potential, but has he really shown that much?

Trying to decide between Cobb or Moore this week: anyone else?
I'd roll with Cobb if given that choice. Moore's health isn't all the way back. Palmer tends to feed receivers he trusts. I don't think he's going to trust Moore like he did earlier in the year. Cobb may have an out of the blue breakout game with Jennings down.

Enjoy the Moore hype while it lasts for another week
Thanks. Totally enjoyable.
Totally enjoying the ownage here.
What ownage? He did exactly what I expected, had his *2nd* good game of the year and has people gushing about him just like after his week 2 game.I will be totally ownaged if he isnt back to being a weekly bench WR within a few weeks.

Denarius Moore was the one of the few bright spots in an other wise horrible dynasty season (losing Charles, Best, AP, etc.) I picked up Moore off waivers prior to week 1 in 13 leagues and couldn't be more excited about his future. He's the real deal, and being a good kid off the field and a hard worker, he should only get better

I look forward to keeping him with a 7th round pick next year after drafting him in the 13th (sacrifice six rounds each year kept). Him and Gronkowski, who I can keep in the 3rd, are my only prizes from a 4th place finish this season.

Yeah, look at his season as a whole, taking into account the turmoil the Raider's offense went through (losing DMC, new QB mid season) and I'll take a rookie season like his all day long. He's shown he can be a game changer and I think the sky is the limit after a full offseason with Palmer.

Rotoworld:

Raiders coach Dennis Allen doesn't believe Denarius Moore is consistent enough yet to be considered a "go-to" receiver.
"He’s going to have to go up and make the contested plays, and he’s going to have to make sure he doesn’t have those concentration drops that he had at times last year," Allen said. "(It's) as much about the mental part of it as the physical part of it." Moore indeed struggled with drops last season, and was prone to disappearing for long stretches. Considering the lack of talent around him, it's hard to get excited about Moore as more than a WR3/4.

CSN Bay Area calls Denarius Moore's training camp performance a "real source of frustration," plagued by inconsistency.
Moore was outstanding as a rookie in 2011, but his game has plateaued or even regressed. Per beat writer Scott Bair, Moore shows the capability of "dramatic catches" but too often follows them with "embarrassing drops." Deep threat Moore is going to be a tough match with noodle-armed QB Matt Flynn.

I don't get the JStew reference. But Rod Streater is looking more and more like the #1 wideout, volume catcher, while Moore is the big play, TD maker.

With pop-gun armed Flynn, I don't hold out much hope for big plays unless they hit Moore on a number of bubble screens and slants.

Disagree with your assessment of Flynn. Early reports are he's got plenty of zip on balls on the intermediate throws, and Moore is a playmaker who can corral a pass and has plenty of YAC ability. 90 percent of the throws in a game or a season are the short to intermediate throws. Plenty of opportunities for big plays here. Flynn's arm isn't flaccid. He can fire a tight spiral into tight windows. Just needs time to develop chemistry.

Sometimes a thread gets bumped that makes you look at your dynasty roster and ask, "How on earth did I end up with the entire Raiders receiving corps on my roster?"

Rotoworld:

Speaking Tuesday, Raiders OC Greg Olson questioned Denarius Moore's maturity.
"To me, it’s that whole character issue, becoming a self-starter, becoming a self-motivated person, and a lot of it comes with maturity," Olson said of Moore's inconsistency. "I think he’d be the first guy to say we’re constantly on top of him ... But I think he’s becoming a more mature player." Moore's struggles can in large part be attributed to the lack of talent around him, but it's clear he shouldn't escape blame. Even if he gets his head on straight, Moore is likely in for another long season in Oakland's moribund offense.

I guess it's hard to say how much zip is enough zip. But the ability to throw it far is just the physics of throwing it hard, plus a little elevation. If you can't throw deep, you can't throw it hard, no matter the distance.

This whole situation reminds me so much of the Marinovich experiment. For a brief while there, there was excitement in Raiderland over the possibility of have the lab-built Franken-QB grow into a bigtime NFL QB. But then, when it turned out he had a popgun arm at the NFL level, the discussion turned for a while to whether really, really, REALLY good touch and accuracy were enough to make up for an inability to play big.

Marinovich, of course, washed out for a lot more reasons than just this. But it'll be interesting to see the experiment continue in Silver and Black.

Given Olsen's comments, the LT issue and questionable QB play I am tempering my expectations. I will take a flyer in the last 1/3 of my drafts, but he is not a consideration before that point. A change in scenery would elevate his value greatly.

I have to agree with the bolded. For some reason, Ben Tate was still on the board in the 11th round, and I had to take him given Arian Foster's back and leg pain. Moore went the very next pick, to the Foster owner. Maybe I can finagle a heavy handed deal.

I like Moore, but he's been troublingly inconsistent after starting the first half of last season as a solid WR3/flex player. He all but disappeared on some weeks later that year. And Olson's comments notwithstanding, he's got a lot of catching up to do to develop his route tree, other than the 9 route. But that TD catch against the Saints last week was sweet, and shows he's still got great potential. At his cheap price, you could do worse picking WR4's.

Having never been to see him practice or heard just a whole lot about his work ethic and attitude, I can only go by what I see in games. His lack of consistency appeared closely related to the Raiders ineptitude on offense. They can't sustain drives, protect the QB long enough, execute etc etc for him to excel regularly. I remember what Randy Moss was in this program. I don't condone it but how good would your attitude be if you had to deal with the charade of a team the Raiders have been lately.

My knock is he can't seem to stay healthy and little things seem to keep him out too easily. I still think he is a steal this year.

Rotoworld:

CSN Bay Area calls Denarius Moore the "most frustrating player" of Raiders camp.
It's a sentiment shared by the Raiders' coaches. Per beat writer Scott Bair, Moore "still makes great plays," but "makes an equal number of inexcusable mistakes." Raiders OC Greg Olson wants Moore to become more of a "self-starter," but it's possible he's peaked in the Raiders' dysfunctional offense. Receiver-needy teams aren't doing their job if they aren't trying to buy low on the supremely talented third-year pro.

Denarius Moore says he and Terrelle Pryor are "really starting to click."
"I'm feeling confidence from within myself and from the team," Moore said. "Terrelle and I are really starting to click. It started in practice, and now we're transferring it to the games." Moore has resurfaced as a WR3 in recent weeks. He has 15 catches for 274 yards and two touchdowns in his last three games. Moore also seems to have found a cure to his case of the drops that plagued him during the summer. Moore is Rotoworld's No. 41 receiver for Week 6.

Rotoworld:

Denarius Moore underwent an MRI on his shoulder Monday.
Moore suffered the previously unknown injury in Sunday's win over the Texans. The results of his MRI are not yet known. Moore was held to two catches for 11 yards in Houston, and drew only six targets. It's quite possible his health was a factor. However, the fact that his injury flew under the radar is a sign tests are unlikely to turn up anything major.

Rotoworld:

Denarius Moore (shoulder) is not practicing Wednesday.

Moore underwent an MRI on Monday, so the fact that he wasn't able to practice isn't a great sign for his Week 12 status. Even if he manages to play, Moore won't be a recommended fantasy option in a matchup against a Titans defense that allowing an average of just 213 passing yards per game. His status will be updated again no later than Thursday.

Rotoworld:

Coach Dennis Allen said Wednesday Denarius Moore will likely have to deal with soreness in his shoulder the rest of the season.
Allen described the shoulder as "really sore" after Moore missed practice. His status for Week 12 against Tennessee is uncertain. The injury sounds like something Moore may have to have surgically repaired during the offseason.

Rotoworld:

Denarius Moore (shoulder) remained out of Raiders practice Thursday.

It's beginning to look like Moore will sit out Sunday's game against the Titans, but the Raiders could be just managing his reps ahead of a Friday return. Moore will have to get in at least a limited session to suit up for Week 12. It's not a good situation for rookie QB Matt McGloin, who could be left with Rod Streater as his No. 1 option against one of the league's stingiest pass defenses.

Rotoworld:

Denarius Moore (shoulder) is expected to miss Week 12 after sitting out a third straight practice Friday.

Darren McFadden (hamstring) is in the same boat. Per CSN Bay Area's Scott Bair, Moore "won't play" against the Titans. UDFA quarterback Matt McGloin will be without his most explosive wide receiver in Sunday's bout with Tennessee's top-seven pass defense. Andre Holmes is expected to get the starting nod in place of Moore. Rod Streater is a good bet to lead the team in Week 12 targets.

Rotoworld:

Coach Dennis Allen said Monday he "doesn't know" whether Denarius Moore (shoulder) will be ready for Thanksgiving Day against the Cowboys.

We'll have a better feel for Moore's chances by Wednesday, after a couple of days of practice. Rod Streater has been racking up catches in his absence.

Rotoworld:

Denarius Moore (shoulder) remained out of Raiders practice Tuesday.

He's not going to be active for Oakland's Thanksgiving trip to Dallas. With 12 more days to heal up, Moore should be ready to return for Week 14, where he'll be a WR4 for the Raiders' Matt McGloin-led offense.

Rotoworld:

Denarius Moore (shoulder) remained out of Raiders practice Thursday.

Barring a surprise Friday return, Moore will miss his third straight game in Week 14. Andre Holmes will get another start opposite Rod Streater, and is an interesting proposition as a hail mary WR4.
