I wonder if this is an excuse to bench DA today.

Derek Anderson was reportedly a late addition to the Browns' injury report with a forearm injury.It doesn't say so on the Browns' team website, but it's unlikely that the Cleveland Plain Dealer is making this up. D.A. is right handed and the injury is to his right forearm. It reportedly stems from a hit he took last week. Source: Cleveland Plain Dealer

Adam Schefter just said on NFL Network that Anderson will be pulled for Brady Quinn if he struggles today.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports that the Browns plan to run a conservative offense Sunday and "still have a lot of confidence" in Derek Anderson.

If only Anderson had confidence in himself. There are now indications that D.A. will have a longer leash than initially expected Sunday, but he's still a shaky start without Donte' Stallworth and LG Eric Steinbach again. The Browns seem likely to go run heavy against a Bengals club Jamal Lewis often dominates.
