Did you ever decide a starter based on game time? (1 Viewer)

I like to think of myself as a knowledgeable fantasy owner, but there is one thing that I do that I know is not a good move.

If I have a borderline decision to make on a starter, the deciding factor is, sometimes, game start-time.

For instance, I couldn't decide between Colston and Chambers this week. After looking at the schedule, I realized that all of my other starters had 1:00 e.t. start times.

Therefore, I went with Chambers so I would have someone playing in the late games.

There you have it. I've confessed. Sometimes, good fantasy owners do bad things.

Am I the only one who's ever done this? :(

Guilty.

Especially if I had a guy going on Monday night.

No one plays tonight or tomorrow night for me this week though.

I think, all things equal, that starting a guy on Monday night is usually good, but if the situation is based on a noon vs. three starter I have to admit I can be guilty from time to time as well.

I think it's because I like to make a full day of it and I hate when my fantasy day is over in 3 hours.

Guilty as charged. Starting a player on MN is possibly an addiction. In the past I would sometimes grab a FA defense in order to have something going. As of late I'm finding my guys playing more on Sunday nights though.

That's exactly what I'm talking about. The Sunday night/Monday night- thing is an entirely different issue. (although I agree with the above posters about big players doing well in prime time).I will often (like today) start a guy in a 4:00 game, just so that I don't have too many guiys playing at 1:00.Logically, it's a stupid move. We have sooo many ways to dictate who should start- home vs away, past performance, turf vs. grass, and on and on- yet, I'll let something as intangible as game-time make my ultimate decision. It's crazy and against everything I know is right.

Not sure how earth shattering it is, but everything basically equal, I'll start a Monday night player EVERY time.
Same here. If it's a coinflip on the player I'll go with the MNF player. Really keeps me interested in a meaningless MNF game if I need a few points from a player.

Yeah, there isn't any logic to base it on, but then again participating in something as non-productive as FF in the first place defies a lot of logic in itself...especially M-F, 9-5.

I do it. My reasoning is that I like to have someone going in the later game in case Im behind - I feel like it gives me a glimmer of hope if Im behind going into the game. Stupid? Yup, but I cant help it.

Last licks theory is second in stupidity to only the cancellation theory. At least you admitted it isn't smart! That's a step in the right direction.

years ago I have done this.

These days I don't even look at the start times when comparing at all unless I have an injury situation.

I think the same way, except I am 0-3 when trailing going into MNF this season.

Doesn't anyone like to NOT have someone in the Monday Night game (especially if it's an otherwise meaningless game) so they don't have to worry about it? I'd kill to have my game over with today so I don't have to worry about the distance and frequency of Robbie Gould's field goals tomorrow night against Ari-freaking-zona.
