Did you make the playoffs? How or why not? (1 Viewer)

Looks like I'm going to make the playoffs in 5 of 6 dynasty or DEVY leagues. In the other one I may not, unless of a Monday night miracle by Chase Brown and Ja'Marr Chase and for the other team Dowdle and Ferguson to crap the bed.

Playoffs in 3/6 dynasties. One 1-seed.
Locked up the 2nd overall pick in the leagues I knew I would not compete this year, have them set up for youth movements.
1 other league is meh/1.3 pick underperformer.

I didn’t make the playoffs .. and it’s because I didn’t want to 😎

Traded away JT at the deadline in the hopes I could still be strong enough to win the toilet bowl - for the first overall pick.

12tm league. Worst 2 teams get a bye, then it’s a battle after that for the top 2 picks.

In the leagues that matter for me, we don't do playoffs. It's a straight 18 week season best record is the Champ. We pay down 4 places (out of 12 teams) and 5 places (out of 14 teams). I am currently battling for 2nd (1st place is essentially out of reach in each league). I am 2 games out of 2nd in both leagues (and four games out of 1st in both leagues).

In the league that matters most, acknowledging a number of moves/trades to cover injuries and byes, I attribute it to a strong draft. This will be the first time I enter the playoffs with the same starting roster I drafted. 12-2 #1 seed, first round bye, lead league in points. 1QB/2RB/3WR/1TE.

  • Burrow
  • Kyren
  • Monty
  • Chase
  • London
  • Waddle (I did make a trade to acquire Garrett Wilson, so this may change per week)
  • Ferguson

Second most important league, strong draft + good pickups. 9-5, #1 seed, first round bye, lead league in points. 1QB/2RB/3WR-TE.

  • Lamar
  • Rotation of Walker/Charb, Connor, Chase Brown, Hunt, Bigsby
  • Chase
  • ARSB
  • Rotation of Jennings/Garrett Wilson

I'm in.

Actually started 2-6 with C. Kupp injury and T. Hill playing a major factor.

However, traded for B. Bowers and won six of my last seven and will end up as the highest scoring team in the league.

Team:

* QB: J. Hurts (Worried this week vs PIT)
* RBs: J. Jacobs, J. Conner, B. Hall (traded for...bad idea), T. Tracy (S. McCormick, B. Allen, B. Corum, E. Wilson)
* WRs: T. Hill, C. Kupp, B. Thomas
* TE: B. Bowers
* D: BUF, PHI, BALT
* K: W. Reichard

Made the playoffs in 2 of 3 leagues.

In the league I missed, I was 7-7 despite leading the league in points scored by more than 150. Just bad bad luck in matchups. What can you do? 🤷‍♂️ Started 2-5, battled back to 7-5, and lost last 2 despite scores well above average.

Another team needed last week to clinch at 8-6 but is #2 in points scored. Kyren Williams, Josh Allen, James Cook, and Brock Bowers from my draft did the heavy lifting. Dobbins and Brian Thomas Jr were nice late round picks that came through. Tyreek Hill and Drake London were "meh" at WR. But at least Tyreek is startable again in time for playoffs.

Last team is the one I care most about ... long-running friends and family league. 9-5, #2 overall points scored and clinched a couple of weeks ago. Achane, Jacobs, and Lamar are my stars. Trey McBride is good, but it would be nice if he caught a TD for once. Rico Dowdle (drafted) and Bucky Irving (waiver claim) have been manning the flex. My drafted WRs were a disaster though: Lamb, Olave, Dionte, Hopkins, and Hollywood :x.

I haven't found the waiver wire to be as impactful as years past, so the core of my successful teams are from the draft. Are there lessons? I need to be better about not being afraid to "get my guys" in the draft. For example hated taking Olave in the 2nd but caved because I felt he was who I was "supposed" to take there. I also stayed away from WRs too long after picking them top 2 and that hurt me. In my leagues impact RBs are almost there off waivers during the season, but WRs not so much.

Returning champion, have the first round bye essentially locked up (7/12 make playoffs). Third in points. But my guys are mostly just not very hot the last six weeks. A few other teams have been a lot hotter. So I have one more week for my team to kick it back into gear. Even so, my guys do put up a really solid floor, only two games under 109 all season. But only one of the final six games have they broken 114.

Hurts, (Geno Smith)
Bijan, Gibbs, (Swift, Etienne)
Lamb, AJ Brown, Smith-Njigba (flex), (Metcalf, Jameson, Quentin Johnston, Olave if he comes back but hopefully not necessary)
[No TE]
McLaughlin at kicker and Lions for DST

6 Leagues
1) Dynasty IDP $ league (10 Teams) 14-0 #1 seed. Reason-Barkley, Hurts, Taylor, JSN, McBride, Baun
2) Dynasty IDP $ league (12 Teams) 11-3 #1 seed. Reason-Bijan, McLaurin, B. Thomas, AJ Brown, Baun
3) Redraft $ league (8 teams) 12-2 #1 seed. Reason-Barkley, Jackson, Lamb, Walker, Hill, McBride
4) Shining Path redraft Free league (14 teams) 10-4 # 2 or 3 seed. Reason-Barkley, Jackson, London, JSN, Jonnu Smith
5) FBG Bowl redraft free league (12 teams) 10-4 #2 seed. Reason-deep roster and a LOT of luck. 1943 points.
6) yahoo free redraft league (10 teams) 4-10 DEAD LAST. Reason-decent team actually..very unlucky.

Been playing fantasy football since 1990. This has been one of those dream seasons where most everything has gone to plan and most importantly all key players have stayed healthy. Hopefully win 2-3 championships.

I got that miracle by Chase and Brown, so it is 6 of 6.

What seems crazy is that scoring this week was like 20% above normal. Seems like every fantasy team in my league exceeded averages by a lot. And yet it was bye week hell. What was going on??

There’s variance and there’s variance.

No in both of my money leagues.

One, I did it to myself. I took too many high-variance guys and I cut bait on Chase Brown after 3 weeks when the Bengals weren't using him.

The other, I had a horrid time with injuries. CMC (and eventually Mason), Pacheco, Mixon, Kupp, Dak and Kirk (though the latter was a benefit as he was terrible when healthy). Plus Achane neutered by a non-functional offense when Tua was out and Andrews doing nothing for the first month-plus. But I clawed my way to 7-7 and barely missed the last playoff spot. The toughest break was when I lost by 0.7 in Week 13 when CMC got (re-)injured.

  • #1 Seed thanks to pickups of Chase Brown, Dowdle, Otton, & Bronco D. Lost Aiyuk and navigated the AJ Brown injury and the Hill /without Tua weeks.
  • #2 Seed thanks to pickups of Chase Brown, Hubbard, Tracy, Otton and Bo Nix. Lost Pacheco and navigated the higgins and evans injury weeks.
I dont think I have ever had a year with so many successful additions that have contributed weekly.

Nope. Started 5-2. High points 4 weeks in a row. Lost Godwin, Aiyuk and Olave the same week. Lost 5 in a row. Finished #1 in points for the year and points against. Needed to win this week and faced Josh Allen. Season over.

Might have been my best draft ever with Henry, Williams and Montgomery as RB’s. Bad luck cost me. And Jordan Love never did what I thought he would. Big miss on my part

3 for 3, all absolutely remarkable. I have only missed the playoffs once in about 70 leagues over 29 years playing fantasy football (2017, drafted David Johnson 1.01 and he tore up his knee first quarter of first game), and that barely continued.

League 1: My first undefeated regular season. In my company league but against some experienced FF players, I assembled perhaps the best team ever in a 16-team league. My starters entering the playoffs are Murray/Mahomes, Barkley, Achane, Chase, Puka, Conner/Harrison, McBride. I only drafted Achane and Conner. Made 12 trades.

League 2: Worst draft ever to make the playoffs: 1.01 CMC, 2nd Etienne, 4th Aiyuk, 5th Pittman, 6th Stroud. Of my 10 starters this week, six were WW/FA pickups and my two standouts were trade throw-ins, Addison and R White. To make the playoffs, I needed to win, get a top-five score and for my opponent with Chase and Barkley to get a bottom-five score. Somehow that all happened, even with Chase's performance.

League 3: Started the season 4-1 and 7-4, yet needed to win this week to make the playoffs. Following my opponent's huge performances from Allen and Puka, I was down by 38.5 with Chase left vs his Higgins. I was still down by 9 and typing to my opponent that the blocked kick going to Cincy probably marked the end of my comeback -- surely, Cincy would kick a FG to win it -- when Chase caught that ball and twisted his way to the end zone, giving me the win by 2 points.

Made it in 4/5 Dynasty leagues. 2 teams got 1st round byes.

Had an interesting occurrence in one league I Commish though. The team that finished last (12th), with a 3-11 record, scored more points than the team that finished first, with an 11-3 record. The team that finished 1st was me, so I'm not complaining!

Can anyone beat that for bad luck or freak scoring?

Not gonna make it, my in-season team management was too aggressive dropping players like Swift in my short bench league, too early. Every move I made was off this year. It happens, oh well.

One yes…very solid team despite McCaffrey.

One no. Started out hot, but waited too long to trust Jayden Daniels and struggled early relying on Aiyuk and later with inconsistency from AJ Brown and my TE rotation (Otton and Hockenson).

The painful part is I was one game out…and lost one game by less than a point. That was the week Tracy Jr fumbled in OT. If he doesn’t (or my opponents D doesn’t pick off Goff 5 times), I would be in…but probably still a quick out.

Dynasty - made it in 2/3
#1 seed in one after trading for Barkley early on.
The other shocked me. I took over a last place team from last year. Traded for Mixon mid season to make the difference.

Keeper - 2/2
#1 seed in one
Lamar Jackson was my QB in both

Redraft - 1/3
First time in ten years playing redraft. Injuries killed me, plus my homer picks of Lamb, Ferguson and Prescott.

Made it in all three. One first place (12-2) and two seconds (9-5). Bye next week in all leagues.

Good luck all. Playoffs are always a crapshoot.

2/3 leagues.

Made it In the FBG tournament, mostly by my first four picks doing well - st brown, Henry, Achane, McBride.

Made it in my dynasty SF, also with Henry. Although I traded Barkley before the season :bag: I was planning on rebuilding, but should have just gone for the 🏆.

Not in my main league which is in full rebuild.

Cruised in in 2/3 leagues.

Only one I didn't was due to a slow start and a lot of flukey matchups. 10 team redraft league and 4 make the playoffs. I came in 5th finishing 2nd in points only 24 points behind the leader. I scored 200+ and 300+ more points than two of the playoff teams, but had 300+ more points against than both.

Way she goes...

#1 record, #1 in points. Pretty solid draft all-around, but the most ridiculous WR corps I've ever owned, carried the team most weeks.

Ja'Marr Chase
Puka Nucua
Terry McClaurin
Jaden Reed
Khalil Shakir

C&P from the MNF topic:

1. I backed into the offs as the 7-seed in the 16 team IDP league I won last year… from the 7-seed. The team beating the team I need to lose has Higgins, who only had 5, and the sack by BJ Hill sucked. That’s a 2 point game, so I live in fear of a stat adjustment on Thursday knocking me out of the playoffs.

2. Clinched the 1-seed in my other 16 team IDP that was a startup last year. No BYE, but I get to pick my opponent of the other 7 playoff teams.

3. Won 1st in regular season best record+total points in one of my 4 NCOFF ROC leagues. That’s a good cash. Paid for all my entries. In the big dance as a top ~190 team. Lamb helped.

4. Took 2nd in my only NFFC BB league & cashed. 1st time I’ve ever done BB & I love it. I’ll do more of those next year. Low maintenance, too.

5. 1st place in FBG league 054. Headed to the post season (Chase)

6. Just saw I clinched the 2-seed in a league where top 2 get a 1st round BYE. That’s the 12-team start 10 no K, no D league I tore down to the ground and rebuilt. We had a team go undefeated, but I’ve outscored them by ~30.

Home league: cursed. Snakebit. Lost 4 games by a total of 7.6 points combined. That includes week 1 when I lost on MNF by 2.3 points because CMC didn’t play.

So in all, 3/3 dynasty squads in the playoffs, an NFFC ROC regular season cash+postseason, an NFFC BB cash+postseason, and the 1st in my FBG league+postseason to go. The home league + 2 NFFC teams didn’t make it, and my 2 guillotine teams were eliminated weeks 8 & 11, respectively.

Best year I’ve had in a while. Here’s hoping I win a few dynasty ‘ships!

Congrats to everyone who made the playoffs!

Let's see. I'm in ten leagues.

1. Dynasty - I squeaked in as the 6th seed thanks to Charbonnet and Puka this past week. Lots of parity in the league. My team was somewhat disappointing because none of my RB darts hit (Charbs, Kendre Miller, R White, Stevenson, Lloyd, etc.). That said, I have a puncher's chance.
2. Empire league 1 - Just missed the playoffs as my team sputtered out the last couple of weeks. That said, I really wasn't in the running this year so I traded away some pieces (Godwin, Dobbins, Cousins, Rodgers, etc.) and have really good draft capital next year.
3. Empire league 2 - Started up this year and I drafted to win now (Hall, Hill, Taylor, Lamb, Cousins, Keenan Allen, etc.). My team was disappointing but I'm into the playoffs as a 5 seed. I should be dangerous.
4. Keeper league - Missed the playoffs but that's by design. I sold the farm last year to build a championship team and I won it but the really good players were at their keeper limits so I knew this year would be a down year. Have some nice pieces (Daniels, Chase Brown, Lamb) heading into next year.
5. Keeper league 2 (only two keeps) - I'm the one seed primarily thanks to Lamar and Chase.
6. Redraft 1 - My team is beast (Saquon, Burrow, Gibbs, Flowers, Nabers, Chase Brown) and I outscored everybody by 200 pts. However, I got unlucky whereby I also had the most total points against so I'm a three seed and actually drew a tough matchup in round one. I have the best team, though.
7. Redraft 2 (qb heavy scoring) - Despite Mahomes and Dak being very disappointing in the format, I'm in as a 6 seed. However, I play arguably the best team who is the three seed with Burrow, Henry, and Chase. I'm in trouble.
8. Redraft 3 - This is my "lawyer and judge" league and I usually dominate it but I missed the playoffs this year because my first two picks were McCaffrey and LaPorta. Even Josh Allen and Hubbard couldn't save my season. I'm taking a lot of flak for missing the playoffs.
9. Redraft 4 superflex - I'm the one seed with a bye. Solid team obviously start to finish.
10. Combine league - We don't do playoffs. I'm in the middle of the pack.

Made the playoffs in all 4 leagues (3 dynasty, 1 redraft). No first round byes though (three 3 seeds and one 4 seed).

What kind of question is that? Of course I made the playoffs. No true FBG ever misses the playoffs.

9-5, 4 seed

I won’t bore you with the details.
What kind of FBG is only in one league though!!!???

Hawks are in at least ten. :D

All things in moderation.

Well, except Lions content. I’m definitely excessive in sharing the joy of my favorite team being legitimately good for the first time in my lifetime.

Missed in dynasty league in last week WTA match where the other guy set a single week scoring record. Every other league I made it, although a couple were only just

Missed badly in Dynasty and Redraft.

CMC's injury common to both.

For dynasty, brutal decision to move old man Henry for a '25 1st under the "better moving off a guy one year too early than a year too late" theory. Unfortunately, it looks like I have lost out on multiple seasons of greatness. Given the CMC injury, I suppose it could have been worse. Team might have snuck into the playoffs, but doubt it would have gone anywhere.

Part of the reason for my willingness to roll the dice was the thought that one or two guys from a stable of backup RBs would step up and be serviceable. Complete and utter disaster on that front. Every team's RB1 seemed to stay healthy this year except for mine. Tyjae Spears and Kendre Miller, massive whiff. McLaughlin, massive whiff, just now showing a pulse. Herbert and Dameon Pierce, milk cartons. Roschon, td only throwback.

Wide receivers? Higgins durability playing in a contract year has become a joke at this point. Godwin just good enough before the injury to deprive me of a 1.1. Waddle makes me sick to see what he has been reduced to. I still believe in the talent, but fantasy death until the past handful of weeks.

Redraft side, I definitely overvalued QB after our league switched from 1QB to SF. Went in targeting D. Henry in round 3 after my dynasty trade. He was there and I passed on him for Tua because I drafted CMC and Hall in the first two rounds. No path to the playoffs from there.

In 2 redraft leagues

2nd seed and 2nd overall scorer in 1. Team is stacked at wr and rb. League mates over valued wrs in ppr so I loaded up on rb in rounds 2-4 (henry, jacobs and achane)after taking jefferson 7th and got lucky with McLaurin in the 6th round. Feeling really good about my team. Would be very surprised if I don't make the finals. I think I have 2 top 5 wrs and 3 top 7 rbs. Qb is my only weak spot (drafted dak, been rolling with Herbert the 2nd half of the season)

Finished 7th (5th in points) and missed in my other league. Caught some bad breaks early with scheduling and injuries (losing Nico really hurt) but my biggest mistake was whiffing on mahomes. Breece hurt me as well. Lost to the 6th place team in week 12 (he was highest scorer that week and I was 2nd) and then lost by 2 yards in week 13.

14 team dynasty .. got the #5 seed

Crazy year ... started 2-5 and then went 5-1 the last 6 weeks. Finished 3rd in total points only 10 away from 1st

Daniels, Mahomes
Barkley, JJacobs, JTaylor, CMC
ARSB, Collins, THill, Dell, McConkey, JSN
Kelce, McBride, Jonnu

Made the playoffs and just missed out on a bye in a redraft. Started out with CMC, Pacheco, Godwin, and Olave. Flipped CMC and Pacheco and minor pieces for Achane, Hubbard, Waddle, and Hockenson. May end up with an easier path in the playoffs without the bye, as the other side of the playoff bracket has much tougher teams.

I slipped into them last night starting Jamar Chase, Brown, and Burrow being down 75+
My son kicked me out in the other league with Jamar Chase and Brown on Monday night.

The Bengals give, and the Bengals take away.

What kind of question is that? Of course I made the playoffs. No true FBG ever misses the playoffs.

9-5, 4 seed

I won’t bore you with the details.
1 league?

Pssht… guppy.

:fishy:

Wouldn’t want it any other way. When I was younger played in 6-8 leagues or more. Every touchdown seemed to help one squad but hurt another lol.

Also, in the faith-family-football trifecta, the game is a very distant third.

Made the playoffs in 14 out of 14 leagues.

1st round bye in 8 of them.

13 dynasty, 1 redraft. Dynasty teams have been good the last few years and almost hit it with all of them, but this is the first year going 14 for 14.
