Disgusted... (1 Viewer)

This is by far the worst week of the season with no Sunday night game. Baseball should bow down to the NFL and schedule around them - take a 2 day break as to not interfere with my SNF & MNF. I'm sick of the NFL throwing them a bone. Even if it were Jac/TB, it would probably outdraw this nasty World Series. Ghastly.

I'm on board. Baseball sucks. It's a game of the haves and have nots. Implement a real salary cap, and maybe then fans will pay atttention.

In the NFL you can go from worst to first in 1 year baby! Go LIONS! Woo hoo!

There is a baseball game on tonight?

Has nothing to do with baseball vs. football, has everything to do with FOX's tv contract with the NFL. Blame FOX.

  Why don't we just bump the threads from last year instead of creating new ones?

Game 7 of Red Sox-Indians beat Steelers-Broncos last week in the ratings.
any other game of that series wouldn't have. Any Game 7 will beat a regular season game.

So it happened once in baseball? This happens in football way more then in baseball that it isnt even close.

I kind of like the way today has shaped up, even if I was disgusted to see Cam Cameron lose a very winnable game (again) and to see the Redskins roll over in a major way. I'd like to see the international early game, a second football game, and Game 4 of the World Series. I also like how it allows the league to concentrate 6 byes into one week.

That will happen with 4 team divisions, 16 game seasons, and unbalanced schedules.

Once? Well I listed TWO occasions, AND you could include the 2005 White Sox, who came out of nowhere to win the world series. So actually that's three years in a row. It's not exactly like the Colts came out of nowhere, OR the Patriots for THREE years, OR the Eagles going to 4 NFC championship games. Not to mention the Rams or the Broncos in the late 90's/early 2000's. Hmmm...not a lot of "Worst to First" situations going on there.

The white sox were 2nd in their division in 2004, so they didnt come from "nowhere". How about the Yankees for the last 100 years? How about the Braves winning their division for 13(?) straight years. How about the NFC south the last 4 years?

Gotcha. Boooooo Fox. :goodposting:  Hsssssss.
Yeah, and watching the early games today side by side on both Fox and CBS I noticed that Fox has 10x the commercials that CBS does. CBS will actually stay and provide some coverage during the game even during a timeout where as Fox breaks to commercials every chance they get. I wouldn't be surprised if Fox starts showing 30 second commercials between plays. That being said, it is simply amazing the amount of time that both stations have commercials on at the same time. I need to get Tivo soon, if it was not for watching the live scoring fantasy updates, I could watch both the early and late games in just the amount of time it takes to watch the late game live. Booooooooooooooooooooooooooo fox :) Hssssssss.

Once we reach this point I think its fairly obvious that both leagues have dynasty's that last for years. Currently the Patriots, formerly teams like the 49ers, Raiders, Steelers, etc. The Yankees haven't actually won a title in awhile, and before Torre got there they were terrible. Not to mention, baseball has been around for much longer than the NFL. Yes the Braves won their division for 13 years, but that had nothing to do with an expensive payroll as was originally stated in the first post. The Braves won because of player development, great coaching, and shrewd managerial decisions. They were middle of the road in payroll. NFC South of the last 4 years is the SAME thing as the AL Central the last 4 years (Twins, Sox, Tigers-yes the Twins won the division but bowed out early in the playoffs, Indians) so that's a mute point. I don't think one can say that parity in the NFL is "so much greater it's not even close" because obviously it has been very close the last 10 years at least.
