Anyone rolling with DJ this week? He was a monster until his injury, but news on him has been somewhat limited. Is he expected to be completely healthy and playing all downs this week.
The Broncos are not expected to have WLB D.J. Williams (knee) or CB Champ Bailey (groin) in Week 14 against the Chiefs.Wesley Woodyard will draw another start at weak-side linebacker and Josh Bell will again start at cornerback. Upgraded KC's offensive skill players.Source: Denver Post
Anyone have a feel how they will use Woodyard with DJ and Webster coming back, as well as who will get the points? (Im looking at both Webster and Woody and trying to decide if I can risk playing either. )DJ Williams practiced fully Wednesday according to the injury report released by the league. The local writers mid-afternoon updates focused on other players, and Williams didn't come up in Shanahan's press conference. We'll see what shakes out tomorrow. Could be anything from a misprint to big news about another linebacker shuffle, as Shanahan said last week that they'd try to keep Woodyard out there as much as they can.
No feel whatsoever. I'm going to try to task Cecil with getting some scoop here, but no one around the team had much idea that Larsen would start in Webster's place last month, so it may be tough.I could make a sound argument for and against an alignment of Winborn/Williams/Woodyard. I could make a sound argument for and against a rotation of Williams and Woodyard in DJ's first game back. I could make a sound argument for and against seeing more 3-4 again if Williams is fully ready to go.With the Panthers running the ball so well and rarely using multiple WR sets, all four could end up having average to above average value whether they're in rotation or not. There's a note out of the Rocky Mountain News that the team will keep an eye on Williams and the writer confirmed his return to practice. The Denver Post has a quote from Williams' suggesting he's ready to return and that it's up to the team when he's back. No mention in either of whether he's running with the first team or where's he (and the others) are aligned.Wednesday's are usually the big breaking news days after the first practice and presser, but we'll be on top of this today, too.Anyone have a feel how they will use Woodyard with DJ and Webster coming back, as well as who will get the points? Cecil also feels that something like this is likely to happen -- Woodyard in on some passing downs. Might get some more information later this evening from the late afternoon blog updates. For now, broncos.com implied that Williams practiced fully again today.Denver paper suggested Woodyard might play nickel with DJ. I can't find the link but I read it earlier.

What's this do to Winborn value wise if Woody plays the nickel? I currently have Winborn in as my #4 LB, and would hate for him to only play 2 downs for the playoffs.Cecil also feels that something like this is likely to happen -- Woodyard in on some passing downs. It would depend on whether it's a true platoon or more of a series for series rotation of some type.If it's a true platoon, where Woodyard doesn't see the field on any base defensive downs, Winborn would be a safe play given the makeup of the Panther offense. If not, neither are safe, though both could have good weeks if the Panthers run the ball 30-35 times. What's this do to Winborn value wise if Woody plays the nickel? But Harris came back last week and had a very good game. He is probable and has been practicing fully. I will probably start him. If not him, I only have Cooper or Hayes to put in my LB 4 spot.I'm a little too apprehensive to start DJ this week, as Webster came back last week and only got one tackle or so. I'm not sure if DJ will come back at full strength and/or play a full game, so he may be too much of a risk to play in the fantasy football playoffs. While he has high upside, you might be better served starting someone you know will get 6-9 total tackles and just be happy with those points rather then risking getting only a few points.
I don't think so. I think there's a very strong chance that Woodyard just sees time in some of the nickel packages today. If Williams starts, I think he's the safest of the four. Fortunately (or unfortunately), I think there'll be enough opportunity today that even a guy who plays 50% of the time could have a very good day -- similar to many of Curtis Lofton's games this year. So, can we assume that Woodyard is still a safe play? From the above reports, it's starting to sound like he is the safest play of the four at this point...
I'm starting DJ because my options are Thomas Howard, Justin Durant, Stephen Tulloch. I personally wouldn't start DJ over Cooper, Coopers been really good this year. But Harris came back last week and had a very good game. He is probable and has been practicing fully. I've got both DJ Williams and Woodyard ... and I'm not sure which way to go. However, I could drop one of them and pickup one of the following ... who is my best play?Gerald Hayes vs MINStephen Cooper @ KCJene Bramel said:I don't think so. Well, I see DJ got 3 solos last week and that was it.Was this due to not playing as many down? tackle opps?Im considering picking him up for this week, and hes ranked high, but I need more info as to why the low numbers last week
No clear reason that I saw. Secondary was making a lot of tackles or run plays and there was a note that Williams' health was expected to continue to improve. Neither of those things are reassuring to me. Williams is a stud when healthy, though, so it's all about your risk tolerance.Well, I see DJ got 3 solos last week and that was it.Was this due to not playing as many down? tackle opps?Im considering picking him up for this week, and hes ranked high, but I need more info as to why the low numbers last week
