Ain't nobody talking about a name change.

I would not be so quick on this thought....The last 15 years or so have shown when "outside" special interest groups are able to get private business and governments to make a change through PR, boycotts, etc they don't stop. Once outside groups are given the "empowerment" of making changes they want, they don't stop. They just wait until they can come up with a new issue.

The hatred for Goodell and most leadership decision makers in this country is making many very happy about the whole fiasco and the way it is going - especially on this board. Just remember, the more you let Congress and other "outside" groups make decisions for you/force you to make decisions - they feel more empowered and will go after their next issue. I would bet the anti-Redskins name groups are excited about the apparent "damaged and weakened NFL" right now and are already planning some new big protests. The NFL will need to cave quickly to reduce the PR hit at this time when they are already appearing to be out of touch.

If I was Snyder, I would expect more pressure from the NFL office and other owners to change the name to get the topic off the negative PR for the league.

BTW, there are a whole lot of issues that these groups are going to start attacking the NFL about. If you think Goodell was sissyifying the NFL, just wait if the NFL comes out very damaged from all of this. Everyone needs to watch out what you wish for, getting there may change the league forever.

I like when an authoritarian power structure like the NFL takes a beating. I hope it takes many more kicks to the groin.

He's never even killed an insect - he's one of those guys who sweeps in front of him as he walks to get bugs out of his way. ESPN’s Keith Olbermann also called for Goodell’s dismissal during Wednesday’s episode of “Olbermann,” comparing the NFL’s efforts to acquire information in previous investigations into the Patriots “Spygate” scandal in 2007 and a Saints bounty system, when evidence was gathered from non-law enforcement sources.

“Your guys seized video in one case and interpreted vague sideline video the way you wanted to in the other,” Olbermann said, addressing Goodell. “But the images of Ray Rice brutally knocking out his wife, symbolically knocking out every woman football fan in this country, symbolically knocking out every woman in this country, either you’re still waiting for the nice policeman on the corner to walk you home and give you that tape, or your office has reportedly had it all this time and they didn’t tell you about it, or you are lying about it.”

The thing that still amazes me, is that the NFL doesn't have enough forethought to establish rules for things like domestic violence. I get that there is a CBA to work around. But, the personal conduct portion should be an easy thing to define, eliminate the gray areas and make the punishment known.

I could see the same problems arise in the event of child abuse (sexual or physical) case. The NFL execs make a ton of money, they need to be in front of these violations to avoid confusion.

I didn't expect it to happen this soon.
