After a 3 year mowing hiatus - I fired my guy and am back at it!@#$
I don't even own a mower anymore. It helps that my new house has a smaller yard than the old and it costs me $15 less a mow. The last yard had no way for the guy to get the big riding mower in the back yard so he had to push it, thus more per mow. I don't know if I could ever go back.

Maybe I'm weird but I love mowing the yard (not a euphemism).  Takes me about an hour a week with weed wacking and firing up the blower to clean the sidewalk.  I find it relaxing while getting some ok exercise.

I actually enjoyed it myself, but with as much as I have going on with my side stuff, I need that time to work that angle and spend time with the kids. Although, I sort of wish my kids watched me mow the lawn when it needed it. But I have to cut time sinks where I can at this point.

I do most of the time, but usually when I am mowing I am also weed eating, trimming bushes and trees, bundling branches for the trash, pulling weeds, etc.

My wife had to fall in love with the house with the giant backyard with tons of plants and flowers, terraced landscaping, water feature, etc. And I immediately knew who would be the one actually spending a crap-ton of time back there maintaining it.   :wall:

Absolutely, but not for protection.  I wear racing gloves to improve grip.  Nothing worse than going into a hard turn on speed 6 and losing grip and rolling off into the hedges.

This. And yes gloves. I am picking up sticks and limbs, moving the concrete things that go under the downspouts, weed whacking, leaf blowing. I'm not doing all that #### in my bare hands. I'm not a neanderthal for god's sake.

Up until about a year ago, never did.

Now, I’m about 50% of the time, especially if I’m doing other stuff (raking leaves, weeding, etc).

100% wearing protective eyewear. Took a pebble to the bridge of my nose a few years ago. Figured eyesight was worth looking like a dork for an hour.
eyewear is excusable, but like wearing a helmet on a bicycle in on a bike path with no cars around. gloves are not. No idea why you would wear gloves mowing a lawn.
