Does Le'Veon Keep His Job? (1 Viewer)

DeAngelo looking explosive

This is a guy who's had a monster season in the past...Bell really not that special
Listen here Mr. Sheepsepidermis... You're crazy to think that Williams is gonna take Bell's job.Pretty sure you know that... Wait... Are you DeAngelo's mom?
DeAngelo's mom died of breast cancer last year, 4 of his aunts have also died from breast cancer.
Honestly I just wanted to make fun of the OPs name... My original comment is dripping with satire... I believe him to be fishing and not serious... As a Bell owner I'm not at all concerned about less of a workload in fact the fact that Williams is viable is good news because it allows them to move Bell around the formation more often to create mismatches... If I'm Wheaton I'd be more concerned with Williams being viable because it could mean an even smaller role then imagined when Bryant and Bell are both back on the field...As far as the DeAngelo's mom comment I had zero idea of that history and I apologize for anyone who was offended by it.

***backs away sheepishly... No pun intended***

Does DeAngelo stay in flex consideration even once bell is back? If DW continues to look this good, could he get 10 touches a game? Would allow the steelers to keep bell fresh i suppose

I don't think you want to start a 32-year old backup once Le'Veon returns.

What does age have to do with anything when you see the production like you did last night? Did he produce because he is 32?

He did well, but he got almost all the RB touches. Starting in Week 3, I don't think he will get enough touches to be useful for fantasy, unless you're ravaged by injuries and bye weeks, and therefore desperate.

:wall: You're not really this blind to the tone of this thread are you?
Probably didn't read the responses before he replied.

DW - if he does what he did yesterday again next weekend or more --- YES he does dimish L Bell ................ BUT L Bell is still the main man and the GL back on a high powered offense. I still expect 1,100 yds and 65 rec. 650 yds rec. and 10 -12 overall TD's from Bell on 14 games. if healthy. As well as DW did Bell would of done better and he would of got the TD. DW has shown he makes a GREAT handcuff and will get mayber 5-8 carries a game to keep Bell fresh. thats it.

You guys can rip me for this, but if Williams is running effectively, who is to say the Steelers don't get some crazy notion to less the load on Bell just a bit so as to not run him into the ground prematurely? Not too far fetched to think if Williams can be effective at spelling Bell that the coaches wouldn't try to preserve him just a bit.

Exactly Its not to hard to see Williams taking the bulk of running plays, because he will already be warmed UP.. Obviously bring in the real threat for passing downs and RZ work.

The real question becomes: Is Williams conditioned, to see that much of a workload?

No, but he won't produce come 2nd half of the season because he's 32.

Which variable is more important, age or touches? Although Gore and DWills are the same age, Gore has nearly twice as many touches (2744) as DWills (1532).

McCoy has touched the ball 800+ times in the past three years and has 1761 lifetime touches. Although he is 5 years younger than DWills, who is more likely to break down?

If Bell were to go down, judging by what we saw vs. NE, I think it'd be safe to lean on DWills.

I expect him to get the 5-10 carries a game Blount was getting.

Bell was RB4 through week 10.

He produced because it was week 1 and he was fresh.

He looked like a 32 year old version of..............Bell.

Steelers are going to be scary with Bell & Bryant
They're already scary on offense. They'll be the best team in football if their defensive front 7 plays as good as they did today.
Did you not watch week 1? Pats will run up and down on them every time.
Ok sorry they'll be the 2nd best team in football? BTW the Steelers will run up and down on the Pats D as well.
It will be a great game either way. Definitely see if they play again it will come down to who gets the ball last.

Bell did lose some value with the way Dwill has played -- Bell still is the main guy but he will not be used like he was the last 1/2 of last season.

Amazing how J. Stewart and John Fox killed D Will - the stats this guy could of put up all those years in Carolina if he was the main guy.

I think it's a bit of apples/oranges....the Steelers have a serious passing threat which opens up the holes in the run game...that wasn't the case in Carolina. Cam was also a major impediment to RB production with all his td vultures.

The weight D-Will lost this past summer played a big part as well. He looks faster and more agile than his last couple of years in Carolina.

Once Martavis Bryant comes back, they're BOTH toast. Steelers will never run again. Just pass, pass, pass. Bryant and Brown, all day long. Sell Bell and Williams while you can!

:D

IMO by week 5:
Bell - 20-25 touches a game
Williams 5-10 touches a game

And I'm a pretty big Williams fan...
