It's over jurb. Damn, wish you would have seen it. It was short. He was riffing at the beginning, talking about his kids go to school near the stadium, something, something...etc. Then he got in a plug for his owner - easy to tell he was told to do it. Out of nowhere says the owner handled everything promptly and took proper steps.

Said the NFL was contacted and are doing an investigation and has already made recommendations.

When asked if he had "any inkling" of any problems he said it's the NFL's job to find that in their investigation.

Later said when he spoke to Martin that he didn't hear anything that was inappropriate.

Then rushed off the podium by a Miami PR guy while reporters yelled.

Now you are starting to understand the frustration by the fans down here, good. MTS, we really are on the same side here. This will probably in the end lead to some sort of new player conduct and wipe out 50-75% of the current hazing, some hazing will always happen just like I believe Bountygate was not isolated and it still happens on smaller scales.

The leadership from owner/GM/HC is putrid and this is what happens when you have poor leadership, there is a big lesson to be learned here beyond not extorting your teammates for hundreds of thousands of dollars.

I do not agree with this either, but 15k for a guy making about 1.2 mil a year is like .0013% of his yearly salary. Comparatively, that is like less than $50 for a person making 40k. This isn't like a mafia level extortion ring or anything.

I think you make an excellent point, but it's not really the same. The guy making 40k might make that for 40-50 years(maybe longer the way social security may end up shaking out) but the guy making $1.2mil is doing so for a very, very short window even if you assume he won't have a major injury.

People make this same mistake when they say fines are nothing. This is part of the money these guys SHOULD be able to retire on. Put $15k in a conservative investment for a 24yo. What's it look like when he's 70?

My point is these numbers are small in comparison to their current salary, yes. But how long with they have that salary?

I understand DB, it was a blurb that someone who couldn't name names wanted to inject but I think what it eludes to is no team in the NFL is gonna want to touch Martin after this incident, they simply won't invite him into camp.

I am so disgusted. On the bright side, I expect the O line to play better now.

Seems to me that Martin was in the O-Line clique and Incognito really abused him. It'll be interesting as more info comes out.

Well, in defense of the media, they didn't have much time. There were a few good questions, and a few bad ones, like "Is there racism?". Specific questions about situations tend to get better answers (if they answer at all).
