Only if the Patriots allowed it. Which is possible and fine.And if they didnt allow for, it still wouldnt stop the trade as the Patriots will negotiate as a middle man between the two side.

Without getting sidetracked, the Pats had won consistently with good D, good ST, and steady but not explosive style offense. In '07 they went out and grabbed Moss and Welker since their D was starting to age. While it lead to great offensive stats, it did not result in a SB win. They basically made the same mistake the Colts have made for years, focusing solely on the O, and letting the D not carry it's share.There is no way anyone in the Pats organization is happy with the way the '07 season finished.
After that I said the Pats would spend the next couple years rebuilding the D, and go back to the steady spread it around offense.

Why would the Pats not allow it if they want to trade him? If the Patriots get the compensation they want, I don't see why they could care anything about the contract the Vikes and Moss agree to.

Rumor quickly became reality on Tuesday night, with FOX's Jay Glazer reporting that the Patriots are close to shipping receiver Randy Moss back to the Vikings.
Now, the Minnesota and Boston media are pursuing the story like Homer chasing a chocolate-filled Uter with a wet towel.
Ian Rapoport of the Boston Herald reports that the Patriots are saying "there is no trade." In this regard, conjugation could be critical. They're not saying "there will be no trade." They're only saying "there is no trade." And Glazer hasn't reported that there "is" a trade.
Rapoport also reports that he's told a trade is not "done," but he confirms that a trade is being discussed.
Albert Breer, formerly of the Boston Globe and now with NFL Network (congrats, by the way, Mr. Breer) reports that "no one is shooting this down, when given the chance to" and "omething's happening."
So stay tuned. We'll be on this thing all night if need be.
After all, that kid has bosoms.

Randy Moss: New England WR Headed Back to Minnesota?

Rumors have been running wild tonight that the New England Patriots are talking to the Minnesota Vikings about potentially trading superstar wide receiver Randy Moss back to Minnesota.
Yes, Moss didn't catch a pass for the first time in his career with the Patriots last night, but he is still Randy Moss. He is the number-one-legitimate deep threat for New England. His size and speed is a matchup problem for any defense.
If Randy Moss is not on the field for the New England Patriots they are a very different football team. So what if he doesn't get an extension in the off-season, Moss should still play out the season in an attempt to win a Super Bowl.
Unless there is unknown turmoil inside the locker-room this deal makes no sense for the Patriots. At best they are going to get a couple of draft picks, such as a second and third round picks.
Let me remind you that all this speculation began on the social network twitter when Bill Simmons of Espn tweeted a message he meant to send to someone else.
Sportsguy33 tweeted, "Sorry that last tweet was supposed to be a DM. Rumors swirling about a Pats-Minny trade for Randy Moss,".
It is quite clear with Sidney Rice out that the Vikings need another top of the line receiver for Favre to throw to. Minnesota can only do so much throwing to Lewis, Basket, and Camarillo. Don't forget that having Randy Moss could take a little pressure off of Adrian Peterson.
Brad Childress went after Vincent Jackson of the Chargers but San Diego's front-office did not feel comfortable moving the Pro-Bowl wide receiver.
Minnesota needs a wide receiver much more but would New England really part ways with Moss in the middle of season? It seems like a risky move that would not sit well with Pat fans if true.
The chances the trigger actually gets pulled on this deal have to be slim to none. Then again, all rumors and speculation start from one source or another. Who knows what Robert Kraft is going to do.

Didn't read entire thread...Does this help or hurt Moss' fantasy value. I can see Favre chucking it up to him at will and defenses have to respect the run much more so than the Pats
