DONE DEAL: Randy Moss to Vikings trade (1 Viewer)

As a Favre, Moss and Harvin owner I say Please God make this happen. This would be a huge boost for all three in my opinion.
Umm as a Packer fan this does not worry you that Favre could have Moss at his disposal? Are you that comfortable to think Minny could not over take the Pack for the division with this move or is fantasy more impotant then what the Packer do? Just wondering.
As a Packers fan this would be a disaster and provide further proof of what a gigantic blunder Thompson made by not addressing his own No. 1 glaring need (running back). But I'm not employed by the Packers. I have a huge pay day coming if I win my top league. If the Packers want to cut me a check for the amount now, I'll root for the trade not to happen. Otherwise, I gotta take care of my own and hope the Packers take care of their own business too.
Good answer thanks and if it is big money I would feel the same way.
Fantasy football has done some strange things. I never root against the Packers but this is a very big money league and I just happen to have three guys whose values I believe would soar if this trade happen - two for sure with Favre and Moss. I have to be honest and say I'm hoping like hell this happens. Besides, if the Packers are going to be a big-time team then they should earn it. A Packers-Vikings matchup with Favre throwing to Moss and the Packers trying to stop them would be damn good drama and a lot of fun to watch. Also, I say this as a football fan in general - watching Randy Moss being ignored isn't any fun. It would be like watching Brett Favre hand off the ball 40 times a game. Moss is an electrifying player. If his team doesn't want to use him - and so far the Patriots have shown little interest in using him - trade him to a team that will. Yes I'm biased as a Moss owner but I'd say that even if he wasn't on my team.

He does something great by alerting everyone to Randy Moss possibly being traded and then he has to go and start putting people down. He just doesn't quite get it in here but oh well, we thank him for being the 1st to grab Glazer and Schefter tweets.

I just don't think Bleacher Report is worth much, if anything.

Plenty of other reputable sources available with top notch staff.

You obviously think they're fine.

I think that anyone who assumes that Hernandez's value goes up is way off base. Does anyone really think he's going to avg more than 5 - 60 the rest of the season? He'll probably get some more TD looks but he's no Moss. Basically, he's already on pace for 900+ yards with Moss to think he'll get much more than that isn't realistic.
It solidfies him. Rock solid.

Mike Adams on EEI is reporting that Breast Cancer sucks. They are waitin for a second interview with Jay Glazer.

welkers value down??? um I dont see it.
Moss draws the coverage away from Welker almost every play.Without Moss, Welker isn't going to be so wide open.
Welker draws the #1 corner and possibly double coverage.
Last night, Vontae Davis was covering Moss for the whole game. In Week 2, Revis was on Moss until he got hurt, then Cromartie moved over to cover Moss. Not sure what you're talking about
don't worry, that guy is wrong most of the time.

I think he's saying that with Moss gone Welker would now the be the WR teams are most concerned about and they would put their best cover corner on him.

Bradys value does not stay the same...

Not a huge hit, but I dont care what your roster looks like, when you lose a WR of Mosses caliber, your QBs numbers are going to go down.

Uh...I think he's talking about what would happen if Moss were traded?

Report: Vikings close to trading for Moss

Minneapolis Star & Tribune

Last update: October 5, 2010 - 8:05 PM

FOXsports.com's Jay Glazer is reporting that the Vikings are close to finalizing a trade that would bring wide receiver Randy Moss back to Minnesota.

Glazer said the Vikings and Patriots are engaged in "serious trade talks" but the deal hinges on the Vikings working out a contract with Moss first. Here is Glazer's story.

This obviously would be a seismic development because of Moss' history with the Vikings. He was the team's first-round draft pick in 1998 and quickly became one of the league's most explosive and productive receivers.

From 1998-2004, Moss caught 574 passes for 9,142 yards and 90 touchdowns. All of those numbers rank second in team history. Moss had six consecutive 1,000-yard receiving season and also averaged 15.9 yards per catch in a Vikings uniform.

The Vikings traded Moss to Oakland after the 2004 season for the Raiders seventh overall pick in the draft and linebacker Napoleon Harris and a seventh-round pick.

Besides the obvious buzz that his arrival would create, Moss could certainly help the Vikings passing game, which has struggled in the absence of Pro Bowler Sidney Rice, who had hip surgery in training camp. Moss has nine catches for 139 yards and three touchdowns this season and he remains at age 33 one of the most feared vertical threats in the league.

Moss has expressed his unhappiness with his contract situation in New England in recent weeks and he did not catch a pass in Monday's victory against Miami. Moss' contract expires after this season and he had hoped to get an extension in place during the season.

ProFootballTalk reported that Moss wants a deal with will pay him $9 million or more per year.

Exactly. If you already thought of him as solid (me) then his value remains the same.

His end zone looks are more limited with Moss around.

Hernandez is probably one of the key reasons NE feels comfortable trading Moss. The kid is legit.Guess what skill player was on the field for the most snaps with Brady last night?Hernandez. His ceiling is...well...Welker in PPR.KY

Comcast's Tom E. Curran is reporting that there will NOT be a trade of Moss to the Vikings according to 2 Patriots sources & Brad Childress

So seriously, this has been posted here for over 2 hours and no "Breaking News" email yet I got a breaking news email that Isaac Redman COULD be a goal line vulture?

Sorry, but that's a bit ridiculous.

Assuming Percy Harvin is 100%, I would expect him to be open a lot with Moss taking 2 defenders down the field each down and also Shiancoe working the middle. Harvin should be open down the seam everytime.

Favre has always wanted to play with Moss too.

I was surprised the Pack did not get Lynch.
I wasn't. Maybe Buffalo thought it was getting a higher fourth from Seattle then it would from GB (not that I agree with our injuries thus far this season)? Wouldn't be the first time GB was used as leverage for another team (which is what I think happened with Moss to NE). But, like I've said before, the Packers have historically (modern era) been a pass first team...even in the halcyon days of Dorsey Levens. They have, and will continue to, run just enough to set up the pass...which I think they can do with Kuhn and Jackson. What they can't, and haven't shown a proclivity for anyway, is control the clock through running. /hijack

I dont think ziggy cares, he was pissed they traded him right before he bought the team.

Another 1st round pick for the Pats? And then maybe whatever they can get for Mankins... plus all the draft picks they've already accumulated. Plus boatloads of young talent already on the roster. Plus Tom Brady and Bill Belichick. Wow.

Randy Moss - WR - Patriots

Per FoxSports' Jay Glazer, the Vikings and Patriots may end up consummating a Randy Moss trade without a new contract "if it comes down to it."

"They've been crankin' on it," says Glazer. Contrary to the original report, the Vikes have not contacted Moss about an extension and the Pats have yet to grant permission. NFL Network's Jason LaCanfora confirms Glazer's sentiment that a deal could still get done without a long-term contract. Moss is believed to be looking for $9-$10 million per year. October 5 - 9:19 p.m. ET
