First WR taken in this year's NFL draft. A clear opportunity since the Rams have Holt and no one else. And this from Linehan.

Does he do anything this year?

Linehan said rookie wide receiver Donnie Avery will play both the X and Z (flanker and split end) wide receiver positions for the Rams against the Seahawks.

“We’re going to factor in a significant amount of plays for him,’’ Linehan said. “Depending on what we’re trying to do with him, we’ll move him around.’’

Torry Holt and Dane Looker likely will be the starters, and Avery will be worked in depending on the situation.
