Yeah, It's sad how far this forum has fallen since they quit modding it. Good grief. We should probably re-name this to serve as news and not a celebration of injury.
That was my thought as well when I read the news, big bump in PPR.Donnybrook said:Albeit the Oline is concerning but Martin reception totals should go up with Sims on the shelf.
Yeah, don't you wanna know how they gonna divvy up all of Sims' numbers from last year??!?So this is exciting?
They going through and deleting thousands of Tim's posts?Too busy policing plagiarism in the FFAYeah, It's sad how far this forum has fallen since they quit modding it. Good grief. We should probably re-name this to serve as news and not a celebration of injury.
I don't think they ever actually had a stud O-line. Wasn't it just that people thought their o-line was going to be studly when they signed Carl Nicks and already had Davin Joseph? Then both got hurt and Nicks pretty much never ended up playing for them. Both are gone now.Didnt TB have a stud OLine two yrs ago? What happened?
He was an RB1 his rookie year and was hurt virtually all of his 2nd season. Give him some time.I feel like we are going to be in the exact same spot with Martin next year if he has a mediocre year. Is he just not that good or is a crappy O keeping him from low-end RB1/high-end RB2 numbers?
Rainey has been running ahead of James. This probably means Demps has a chance to make the team. Doubt they go shopping because they still have decent depth. Demps could mix in on some of the COP stuffWho's the backup now?
Carl Nicks got hurt and is now dead or whatever and Joseph broke his knee in a preseason game 2 years ago.Didnt TB have a stud OLine two yrs ago? What happened?
he was an RB1 due to two games his first season, outside of that his YPC has been well short of 4 and he's used massive volume to make it up. whether he gets that massive volume with a new coaching staff remains to be seenHe was an RB1 his rookie year and was hurt virtually all of his 2nd season. This. Just took him in the 2nd in a 16 team survivor after ball, bell, Murray and Lynch.SameSongNDance said:I definitely like him more so in PPR now. I think 2nd round sounds about right; I'd bump him over Ellington, Foster and likely Bell.
Two OL in the 2nd round.Oh, thought you were gonna mention that TB got a whole new O-line.

It's just a ploy to motivate...The Bucs did not pick up the 2016 fifth-year option on RB Doug Martin.

Ha. Also just told him he's gone after this year. Most importantly....
The Bucs didn't draft a RB.
Ehh... more like they didn't want to guarantee him $5.6 million in 2016 as of right now.Ha. Also just told him he's gone after this year. Most importantly....

if he makes it that long....Ha. Also just told him he's gone after this year. Most importantly....

There is no guarantee. They can cut him any time before kickoff next year and not pay a dime. Guaranteed for injury only.Ehh... more like they didn't want to guarantee him $5.6 million in 2016 as of right now.Ha. Also just told him he's gone after this year. Most importantly....

Just like Saints did with Ingram. I believe Martin has a very good chance at a good year. Probably not his rookie year but will be a solid RB.Ha. Also just told him he's gone after this year. Most importantly....

I personally read it as more "we'll see" than "you're gone," but who knows at this point. There is no guarantee. They can cut him any time before kickoff next year and not pay a dime. Vikings picked up Kalil's option, and they are pretty sure he sucks.
Like Ingram last year he's simply not worth the money even if he plays well.I don't even know why this would be noteworthy --- who thinks martin is worth 5.6m in 2016, or would ever get paid that much?
He still might. The Bucs are signaling they are letting him become a free agent next year so they might as well get something for him if they believe Sims is their starter.Saw the thread title and was hoping to read he got traded to Dallas. So disappointing.
His 66 carries coming off a broken ankle was all you needed to see?I saw enough of Sims to know Martin is the Superior back so as long as he stays healthy he's going to be solid.Ha. Also just told him he's gone after this year. Most importantly....

Feels very much like Ingram from last season. Bucs saw how that played out and probably hoping for a similar outcome. Ingram is still a Saint despite not getting his 5th year picked up.
That remains to be seen but it's possible.I'm no Doug Martin fan, but it is worth noting that Sims was by far the worst runner on the team last year...
I have no doubt they want to move on from Doug, but within a few games, they'll want to move on from Sims, too.
He was healthy when he played. His advanced stats in the passing game were actually quite good, indicating he was fully healthy, just not a good runner. I suspect he has a long career as a 3rd down specialist. That remains to be seen but it's possible.I'm no Doug Martin fan, but it is worth noting that Sims was by far the worst runner on the team last year...

just won't draw many conclusions from an injured rookie year.
