Draft Chat With our Draftniks Matt Waldman and Sigmund Bloom Tonight D (1 Viewer)

From Jerry MacDonald:

Houston passing on Prince Amukamara with its incredibly porous pass defense in favor of Wisconsin defensive end J.J. Watt can only mean one thing _ the TitansTexans are going to make a huge offer to Nnamdi Asomugha when free agency begins
am I missing something here?
Houston is being rumored to land Nnamdi with a big money FA deal. That's what.http://www.ibabuzz.com/oaklandraiders/2011/04/28/9-dallas-smith-10-jacksonville-gabbert-11-houston-watt-12-minnesota-ponder/

Aso will get paid no matter where he goes, why would he choose the Texans? Besides, these draft guru's continue to show an ignorance of how defensive schemes actually work. Phillip's 3-4 scheme eskews corners to focus on the front 7 to create pressure. Corners and defensive backs aren't key in such a scheme.

Redskins take Ryan Kerrigan
Meh...not athletic enough.(not just saying that because he's white)Wouldn't be surprised if he runs into AJ Hawk type problems..."not a playmaker" "struggles in pass protection"Not a huge fan.
Pass protection? I don't think they want him to play offensive tackle.14 forced fumbles and led the Big 10 in sacks for the past 2 years? Seems like he makes plays and has a non-stop motor.
Obviously meant pass defense...don't care what he did in the Big10...put him in a conference with athletes...which is what he'll see in the NFL.Guy is AJ Hawk part 2...just not quite as hyped...a little less Hollywood(which I like about him)

Maybe there's a reason the Patriots liked to trade out of the first round a lot...not sure I like this pick so much. Surprised.

I like Miami going for an oline. This is long overdue.
how fast do the lions run to pick fairley
This is SICK if it plays out. What a turnaround of this franchise. Take him.
:banned: :banned: :banned: HELL YEAH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've been half-joking about switching allegiances to Detroit after past 3 drafts. This might be the clincher.
yeah well Schwartz was a former Titan so it's okay for us Titan fans to root for 'emi actually wanted Fairley at pick 1.08at first i was a lil upset that the Titans didnt trade back and get a 2nd and still get Locker if that's who they wanted, but it looks like he wouldnt have made it so they did finealthough the Titans passed on Gabbert for Locker, I don't have that same nauseous feeling I did in '06 when they picked VYoung over Cutler, i'm okay with this unless Fairley goes to 7 pro bowlsprobably because a former Mizzou asst coach is a friend and i have some concerns over Gabbert kudos to Gosseling's mock, he slayed it
Agree with you about VY over Cutler. I wanted Cutler badly, but the more I study QBs (and as difficult as it is) the more nauseous I get that any team drafts a QB so high - regardless of QB (Luck excluded). Kerrigan to Skins...gotta like those Purdue DEs...
yeah the Titans just altered my prediction of getting Luck in 2012 draft #1 pick(although Locker could be next year's Clausen by then LOL, has any team EVER picked two 1st rd QBs back to back?)i liked Locker on Gruden's QB camp so who knows

Also, FWIW have heard rumors that Houston is interested in Safety Michael Huff to go with Aso.

Listening to Berman makes me want to stab myself in the eye with a pencil. Remind me to just watch the commercials on NFL network

Just look at his stats. He had some pretty decent talent around him on offense and he still never dominated. 55.4 completions last year. 6.8 yards per throw. 17 TD vs. 9
I'm not sold on Locker's ability to succeed in the NFL, but it's worth noting that "decent talent around him" dropped a lot of passes that hit receivers in the hands. A LOT. Every gd game. I was frustrated far more with Kearse and Aguilar.

I have Read Jeremiah Johnson from Cinci is also a possible target in FA. Houston is not known to spend in FA, but with the staff on the hot seat, that may change.

Bah, I was hoping to see Liuget in Indy or Chicago. Chargers get a nice player, but Liuget may not have the same impact here as he would've as a penetrating Tampa-2 DT.

Solder? Really?

/Mike Golic voice

those in love with NE need to study their drafts lately IMO

Solder is 6'8" and stands up very tall, Brady gonna get hit hard

Definitely saw that on the highlights, but is that the book on him (standing up too tall)? If so, he's not going to do very well.

I want Prince, Giants been good developing later round olinemen.
