TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline revealed that the Cardinals and Chargers were scouting Ole Miss WR Cody Core just as closely as they were WR Laquon Treadwell during Monday's Pro Day.
Pauline didn't even realize the amount of interest in Core until after Pro Day's conclusion. Wrote the analyst, "I'm told there was great interest in Cody Core at Ole Miss pro day yesterday, or at least much more than I reported. The San Diego Chargers and Arizona Cardinals were on hand to watch Core as much as they were there for Treadwell." The 6-foot, 205-pounder will be visiting the Raiders and has already worked out with the Cowboys and Patriots. He'll have another workout with the Buccaneers before all is said and done, too. During the Pro Day itself, Core notched a 37 1/2 inch vertical jump, a nice improvement over his 31 inches at the NFL Scouting Combine. Pauline believes Core impressed enough during positional drills that he might have pushed himself into the Day 2 conversation.
