[Dynasty] 2016 Draft Class (2 Viewers)

TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline revealed that the Cardinals and Chargers were scouting Ole Miss WR Cody Core just as closely as they were WR Laquon Treadwell during Monday's Pro Day.
Pauline didn't even realize the amount of interest in Core until after Pro Day's conclusion. Wrote the analyst, "I'm told there was great interest in Cody Core at Ole Miss pro day yesterday, or at least much more than I reported. The San Diego Chargers and Arizona Cardinals were on hand to watch Core as much as they were there for Treadwell." The 6-foot, 205-pounder will be visiting the Raiders and has already worked out with the Cowboys and Patriots. He'll have another workout with the Buccaneers before all is said and done, too. During the Pro Day itself, Core notched a 37 1/2 inch vertical jump, a nice improvement over his 31 inches at the NFL Scouting Combine. Pauline believes Core impressed enough during positional drills that he might have pushed himself into the Day 2 conversation.

UCLA LB Myles Jack told reporters the Chargers view him as a defensive back, in the mold of S Eric Weddle.
"Obviously, they want me at a lower weight, but with my skill set, they can see me in the slot, covering and running," Jack explained. This is fascinating, as Jack can asbolutely win as a traditional linebacker, but his athleticism and movement ability was on display for entire games when asked to cover slot receiver or roam plenty of ground. Jack elaborated, stating the Chargers relationship would likely be as a sub-package player. Jack is definitely in the conversation from No. 2 with the Brown to No. 5 and the Jaguars. We don;t see him falling beyond that. Mar 30 - 1:18 PM

This is hilarious.
Greg Cosell now saying the same thing:

Greg Cosell's draft preview: Jared Goff's strengths and flaws

Excerpts:

I think Goff is a more natural and better overall thrower than Marcus Mariota. Overall I think he’s a better prospect than Mariota or Jameis Winston, who went with the first two picks of last year’s draft. But a few questions remain, and they need to be looked at hard by NFL teams.

I think Carson Wentz is a better NFL prospect than Goff, and Wentz is my top quarterback in this draft, but Goff has a lot to offer as well.

TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline relayed that TCU QB Trevone Boykin "ran about 10-12 pass patterns [during Thursday's Pro Day]."
Boykin has long insisted that he believes he can be an NFL quarterback, to the point where he dismissed an invite to the Senior Bowl because they wanted him to play wideout. While he did throw passes on Pro Day, we might finally be seeing something of a position shift. Per Pauline, the dynamic TCU athlete "look[ed] good catching the ball" on his handful of routes. Pauline also noted that Boykin got in some work fielding punts on Thursday. The 6-foot, 212-pounder is as project-y as they come. While he could find himself drafted on Day 3, we wouldn't count out the possibility that he exits the draft as a street free agent.

TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline wrote that South Carolina WR Pharoh Cooper "looked very good" during positional drills during Wednesday's Pro Day.
"I'm told his 40 times ranged from 4.58 to 4.64," Pauline passed along, adding, "He then went through receiver and special teams drills for almost 30 minutes and looked very good. Cooper ran sharp, crisp routes, caught just about everything thrown in his direction, and looked very smooth." The 5-foot-11, 203-pounder managed to log a 66-973-8 receiving line in 2015 despite playing for an offense that looked like an aluminum can that had been repeatedly run over. NFL Media's Mike Mayock deemed him a nice fit for the Vikings in late February, while Pro Football Focus sees value if he is still on the board in the third round.

Cal RB Daniel Lasco was put through a private workout by the Patriots and Eagles.
Lasco missed a large portion of the season due to injury and did not wow at the East West Shrine game, as it is difficult for ball carriers to standout at an all star event. However, Lasco made his mark at the NFL Combine, testing like on of the top athletes at his position. That explosion is evident when going back and reviewing his tape.

TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline noted that Washington RB Dwayne Washington's "film was impressive in 2015 [when he was on his game]."
Washington had his Pro Day on Thursday, running the 40-yard dash in 4.48 seconds while also showcasing an impressive strength element for his position when the 6-foot-1, 223-pounder notched 21 reps on the bench press. Last season, Washington appeared in eight games (six starts). He missed four contests due to a knee injury. Washington rushed for just 282 yards and four touchdowns, but he did average a meaty 6.0 YPC. He did not average fewer than 5.3 YPC in any one of his three seasons with the Huskies.

TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline relayed that South Carolina RB Brandon Wilds "had a good day for himself" during Wednesday's Pro Day.
"Wilds caught the ball very well in position drills," Pauline wrote, "and most importantly, displayed a lot of quickness moving laterally. That's key for Wilds, who's been branded as a straight-line runner." The 6-foot-1, 220-pound back has already met with the Patriots, Giants and Lions, all of whom could be in the market for a Day 3 back depending on how they approach the first two days in Chicago later this month.

CBS Sports analyst Rick Neuheisel said on Sirius XM NFL Radio that Stanford QB Kevin Hogan will meet with the Browns on Monday.
Meeting season has come to a full boil. Hogan already went through workouts with the Eagles and Ravens. He will meet with the Browns on Monday. It's probably best not to read too much into his Cleveland rendezvous. The Browns have long been linked to drafting either North Dakota State QB Carson Wentz or Cal QB Jared Goff with the second overall selection. Should they pull a draft rabbit out of their hat, though, they could alternatively target FSU DB Jalen Ramsey or UCLA LB Myles Jack at No. 2 and hold off on their quarterbacking needs until a later round.
