For those buying Ridley, what's he going for? I'm tempted in a dynasty league where i could use some WR help.

I just sold him (and a 2024 3rd) for a 2024 1st. Expect the pick to be in the 6-10 range in a 16 teamer.

Actually like Ridley but just didn't really need him and the pick has potential to be fairly high

Yeah. I wouldn't trust him as my QB2 starter in SF. That said, he's a high risk / high reward kind of player. If he stays healthy, he's likely a top 10 producer...if he gets 1 more concussion, he's done for the career.

Kc didn’t do much (yet) at rb this off-season which leads to me think maybe they view him higher than I do. Iirc he was banged up often last season as a guy with his running style often tends to do. I haven’t went over his usage with a fine tooth comb recently so I can’t really attest to his pass catching prowess or goal line stats?
One thing that give me pause is I’m pretty darn high on prince. They seem to be pretty much the same type guy. However I think prince might have better vision and will leave less yards on the field.

You should be able to get a mid 24 1st and 2nd for CMC, but his real value is during the season. Trade him to an underperforming 'contender' or someone who's just lost a RB for the season.

I agree if the IDP scoring is anywhere that matches the offensive side of the equation. If IDP's don't matter than this doesn't really matter.

Draft picks. Early and often. 1st rounders - at least 2. Maybe a 2025 1st as well. Extract as much value as possible.

Picks don’t lose value, they don’t tear ACLs, get DUIs, get into bar fights, do drugs, domestic abuse arrests, etc they’re the safest asset to acquire, and their owners often undervalue them.

Picks can be traded away for pieces later when everyone has rookie fever, or they can be spent on top prospects to help the rebuild.

The talk is Hall should be ready by Week 1, and Carter and Knight are still around so I wouldn’t reach for Abanikanda either. I did manage to get him in the 3rd in both leagues I have Hall though.

in one 12team, 1QB, Keep 13 league, I’m stacked at RB (Taylor, Dobbins, Javante, Akers) but we only have to start 1 RB (can start 2). So trading an RB for a WR has been super challenging, especially since that whole RB corpe had some kind of question marks last/this year.
I hate McLaurin’s QB situation but he seems like a solid WR2 (or do some view him now as an WR3?).
i currently have an offer of McLaurin for my Williams, which honestly seems fair, and it’s need-for-need, but of course, my dreams of Williams returning to be a top 5 dynasty RB are making me think twice. No, more like 15 times. Not sure. Thoughts appreciated.

Provided they don’t bring in Dalvin Cook, he is in a great position. He’s likely to pick up much of Singletary’s workload, and the RBs the Bills added are 33 year old Murray & oft injured Damian Harris.

I love his chances to lead that backfield.

His ADP is what, mid-6th in a 12-team league? Ish?

I have him as a buy - if he hits his ceiling there’s profit to realize there. I got him back in a trade for TLaw, and I’m excited about his potential.

I have it a little less wide - I see his floor as a low-end RB3, and his ceiling as a high end RB2

~6% chance he’s a low end RB1 - an unscientific % I just pulled out of my butt.

He still has a QB who vultures TDs (and I’d bet Murray will too) but IMO he’ll get most of the RB receptions, so for PPR he’ll be useful most weeks.

I agree workload will be the determining factor.

Williams will probably be in for a rough ish start to the year. I’d like to think you could get a bit more than mclaurin given his situation. But with your leagues starting requirements I don’t view it as a bad deal. At best I’d put him as your 3rd rb imo. Do you have Zach evans? I’d handcuff Akers and dobbins and roll with mclaurin.

I like Scary Terry & I’m not as concerned about his QB situation. Given your roster requirements (start 1 RB) I’d have no issue giving up Javonte for TMC if you need a WR2 more than a RB.

You just have to hope Taylor returns to form and it won’t really matter.

Question - do you have an O-flex where you could start both Taylor + Williams (when JaWill comes back) ?

If so, I might be tempted to hold out for more.

McLauren's fine. He's a good player, but has had multiple chances at being a superstud and I think he woulda done it by now. But a real nice player and a good guy to root for. Would like him fine as my #3WR and would be reluctantly okay with him as my #2.

yeah, we can start 1 or 2 RBs and 3 or 4 WRs (not TE mandatory either). Old school league that’s been around a while and with those loose starting requirements, there’s not much scarcity except for WR, so it’s a little hard to trade RBs for much.

I have the 1.3 and think I’ll get JSN(draft is in mid-Augsut…yup. Old school. No one but me wants to draft early). I have Lamb, Kirk, Pickens and Meyer at WR, so maybe I do hold out for JWill to get better, and then get more for him in season, and hope a line up of Taylor, 1 of Dobbins/Akers/JWill, Lamb, Kirk, Pickens can keep me in contention.

ps. My QBs suck too Lance and Goff. I have 4 2nd rounds so will be taking a rookie QB there for sure.

Personally I’d hold JaWill

At this point you’re better off waiting to see if he can come back healthy - if he does, you either get a productive RB for your flex spot, or you sell for a better WR asset that will actually help your team.

You’ve waited this long, why settle for TMc?

Don't sleep on Goff. He played REALLY well last season and had an inordinate number of passes to WRs tackled inside the 5. He is positioned to have a great season and is 28. He's not your long term play, but he should buy you at least 2-3 more years of top 5-ish production.

yeah, when I look at dynasty WR rankings and see McLaurin ranked right near Pickens and Kirk, I don’t think I’m exactly upgrading much at WR since they’re all so similar.

At this point you’re better off waiting to see if he can come back healthy - if he does, you either get a productive RB for your flex spot, or you sell for a better WR asset that will actually help your team.

This. You've already eaten the majority of Javonte's injury time. Why not see where he goes from here. I'd certainly expect a rough start, but Dobbins should be the template for returns from rough knee injuries.

Thoughts on McLaurin?

in one 12team, 1QB, Keep 13 league, I’m stacked at RB (Taylor, Dobbins, Javante, Akers) but we only have to start 1 RB (can start 2). So trading an RB for a WR has been super challenging, especially since that whole RB corpe had some kind of question marks last/this year.
I hate McLaurin’s QB situation but he seems like a solid WR2 (or do some view him now as an WR3?).
i currently have an offer of McLaurin for my Williams, which honestly seems fair, and it’s need-for-need, but of course, my dreams of Williams returning to be a top 5 dynasty RB are making me think twice. No, more like 15 times. Not sure. Thoughts appreciated.

I like Scary Terry & I’m not as concerned about his QB situation. Given your roster requirements (start 1 RB) I’d have no issue giving up Javonte for TMC if you need a WR2 more than a RB.

You just have to hope Taylor returns to form and it won’t really matter.

Question - do you have an O-flex where you could start both Taylor + Williams (when JaWill comes back) ?

If so, I might be tempted to hold out for more.

yeah, we can start 1 or 2 RBs and 3 or 4 WRs (not TE mandatory either). Old school league that’s been around a while and with those loose starting requirements, there’s not much scarcity except for WR, so it’s a little hard to trade RBs for much.

I have the 1.3 and think I’ll get JSN(draft is in mid-Augsut…yup. Old school. No one but me wants to draft early). I have Lamb, Kirk, Pickens and Meyer at WR, so maybe I do hold out for JWill to get better, and then get more for him in season, and hope a line up of Taylor, 1 of Dobbins/Akers/JWill, Lamb, Kirk, Pickens can keep me in contention.

ps. My QBs suck too Lance and Goff. I have 4 2nd rounds so will be taking a rookie QB there for sure.

Don't sleep on Goff. He played REALLY well last season and had an inordinate number of passes to WRs tackled inside the 5. He is positioned to have a great season and is 28. He's not your long term play, but he should buy you at least 2-3 more years of top 5-ish production.

If Goff is top 5ish, then everyone is top 5ish

Price check on James Cook buf in a ppr league?

Was just ripped pretty good on one of the podcasts as being overvalued (PFF or FantasyPros I think)

has never had a large volume of touches.

I anticipate volume and staying healthy will be his challenges.

He does have a high ceiling based on opportunity and efficiency.

Wide range of outcomes IMHO.

The risk/reward is completely worth it, IMO. Great situation, should get a lot of work. I like buying these guys that people discount because they didn't get volume in college. College volume often doesn't translate to NFL volume. Some guys that got little work in college get a lot in the NFL. Some guys that were workhorses in college are committee or specialty guys in the NFL.

Agreed which is making me still mull it over and not reject the offer. I just wish they were going into this year with a better option at QB

And Sam Howell / Jacobi Brissett are going to help him get there with Dotson & Samuel crowding the receiver room & Gibson catching passes out of the backfield while Howell steals a bunch of rushing TDs?

Okay but those "outliers" make up 2 of the top 10 dynasty RBs right now and 3 of the top 12 scoring RBs last year.

It's becoming more and more normalized and few of those guys have walked into a situation that looks as good for doing it as Cook is walking into this year. Yet his pricetag is still extremely reasonable.

I just have to disagree with the "he would have done it by now" part of your statement. He has averaged 1000 yards a season so far in his career and he's had 9 AWFUL QBs in Washington. You can use any metric you like, but all the QBs he's had have been way below NFL average, and I will argue bottom 5 in the league: Case Keenum, Colt McCoy, Dwayne Haskins, 1 legged Alex Smith, Kyle Allen, Ryan Fitzpatrick (1 qaurter) Garrett Gilbert, Taylor Heinicke, and Carson Wentz.

I think averaging over 1000 yards and over 5 TDs a year with that steaming pile of garbage at QB is nothing short of amazing. If Sam Howell is just average, just middle of the road QB, I think McLaurin will have top 5 upside this year and moving forward. Some other metrics to consider-

Last year he had just 62.7% of his targets were catchable. The lowest rate of all WRs with 100+ targets. And since entering the league his 2.8% drop rate is 9th lowest in the NFL.

Terry catches almost everything thrown his way, and he's not had good ball placement for most of his career due to bad QB play. Yet despite that, he has put up very good numbers each and every year. He has speed. He runs good routes. He's a great guy off the field. I love the guy, and can't wait to see his ceiling if he ever gets really good QB play.

Not sure if you’re directing this at me or not? But I never said we’d see his ceiling this year just that we haven’t seen him at his best yet. May never come idk

How do we feel about Goff's future beyond '23?

I'm in a 12 tm, start 2 QB, 2 TE league, and am struggling at QB. I have a contending team outside of QB (Russ, Mac Jones). I have an offer of my '24 1st/3rd for Goff and want to pull the trigger. I hate trading away my future insurance should I run into injuries, but I like Goff and veteran QB's in this format. Any opinions are appreciated!

He is signed thru '24 and there is the potential of an extension. Hooker won't play this year and will basically be an untested rookie in '24. So in terms of security Goff seems fairly safe for now at least.
