Is there a particular reason you seem to be favoring the used S?
Me?Is there a particular reason you seem to be favoring the used S?
Tons of variables here.I know nothing about these cars. How long does it take for a full charge? What does it cost to charge away from home?
Yes. I get that. It's the reason I went the way I did. But I didn't see much difference between the two on my normal commute. If you're hitting 200 miles/trip it seems like, practically speaking, you'd be better off going with the 3.Me?
If so, size and general preference of looks.
A bit of both. Depending on how you drive you might have additional range sucked up, especially if it is mostly highway driving without much regenerative braking. I think you'll want and sometimes need the extra cushion.Thx btw. Also are you suggesting this due to the daily range situation or the yearly mileage and years 4/5 like I’m concerned about?
Good info. Thanks. The commutes are all highway with pockets of traffic and I typically am the set it at 80mph type guy. Sounds like both are mileage killers.A bit of both. For the miles I would be concerned a bit for a couple of reasons, one is battery degradation, I don't know that we have a real good baseline on what that will look like, and then if you are really putting the miles on it like that then I would think resale is going to be not good, doubly so if you don't have updated hardware.
Not a Tesla owner but I did see an article yesterday that the service had been down for a few hours over Labor Day weekend. However, the article indicated it was only down for a few hours, so maybe try rebooting your phone (though you probably tried that)? My Tesla app hasn't connected to the car since September 1. It just keeps spinning and not connecting.
Anyone have this issue? Any suggestions on how to fix?
Thanks. Restarting didn't work but I just logged out of the app and then back in and it finally updated. I reckon I should have thought about that first. Not a Tesla owner but I did see an article yesterday that the service had been down for a few hours over Labor Day weekend. The problem is that you'll sit down and order and then have to run out to move your car before you start getting idle fees.new Austin Supercharger open. much better spot and 16 stalls. 5 minute walk to Baby Acapulco's for lunch.

didn't today. station has to be half full i believe and i usually go when i'm pretty low, so i don't run out of time. The problem is that you'll sit down and order and then have to run out to move your car before you start getting idle fees.

North Austin. 360:and StonelakeWhere is it?
The purple at Baby A's is great.
How much does that cost?didn't today. station has to be half full i believe and i usually go when i'm pretty low, so i don't run out of time.
idle fee? dollar a minute I think in this area. How much does that cost?
Thanks. How much to charge at a Supercharger? If free to Tesla owners who is paying that bill, Tesla?idle fee? dollar a minute I think in this area. How much does that cost?
Thanks! Good luck to Tesla in Q3 and Q4 with their FCF. I'm sure liquidating inventory and taking an axe to capex is a sustainable long term strategy.
We get it Mark. You hate Elon and you make money when the stock price drops.
The rest of us are enjoying our Teslas.
Go enjoy your car bud, you have another three or four weeks until you can gloat about FCF. Oh and there's a stock thread down the hall.
I like the generic/standard charging plugs the whole industry (except Tesla?) use. That's something for me to think about. Case in point, I'm starting to slightly lean toward a Bolt vs a Tesla for about $10k less cost, plus the standard plug it uses. So I know the Bolt will charge on all of the normal non-Tesla chargers, which will eventually be more plentiful/common than Tesla.Nugget said:Tesla changing deposit structure
Not sure when the next earnings call is - seems like it should be soon.
Ford should be releasing details on an electric crossover in about a month.

And given that the Bolt has similar range as a Model 3, and I'm more into a Point A to Point B guy, it seems like a better fit. Can someone talk me off the ledge here?
I think the biggest argument is really how different those 2 cars are. Outside of being electric and having similar range they couldn’t be more different imo. They are not direct competitors in the way say a BMW 3 series is to and Audi A4.I like the generic/standard charging plugs the whole industry (except Tesla?) use. I sweated over where would I charge when I'm out before I bought the Model 3. Turns out 99 % of my charging takes place in my garage.I like the generic/standard charging plugs the whole industry (except Tesla?) use. That's something for me to think about. Tesla crushes the Super Charging stations - they have over 1600 vs Electrify America @ 450I sweated over where would I charge when I'm out before I bought the Model 3. Turns out 99 % of my charging takes place in my garage.
I'm thinking it will be a while before non tesla fast chargers will be more prevalent than tesla super chargers. I haven't really looked into that though. SC's seem to have a nice spread and still growing.
I mean there are some fishy numbers in there.Tesla proved its critics wrong in its latest set of financial results, unveiling an unexpected profit and record car deliveries, and announcing that it is ahead of schedule on a new model and a new plant.
The company made $1.86 (£1.44) per share in the third quarter, smashing analysts’ forecasts for a loss. It delivered 97,000 cars to customers in the period to 30 September, comfortably surpassing the previous record of 95,356.
Tesla now expects to launch the Model Y, an all-electric SUV, by the summer of 2020, months earlier than originally planned, and its new “gigafactory” in Shanghai has already started trial production. Manufacturing in China enables the carmaker to avoid import duties and offer lower prices in one of its most important markets.
hmm, I'll have to try that this morning. You mean the regen braking is even stronger? I love mine, how much of a difference is it?You guys seen the trick to push your software update thru? Go to the software menu in the car and under "software update preference" tap the "advanced" button 5 times and it pulls the most recent update.
Worked on my 3 this morning. The one pedal driving is pretty slick. Regen Braking is increased big time. Definitely feels like at least 5% more power.
Still freaking love this car.
Much stronger. Maybe 25-30% more? I like it though. I've seen the term "one pedal driving" and assuming you don't have to brake completely unexpectedly it truly is one pedal. You coast to lights and stop signs and hen it goes into the hold mode.hmm, I'll have to try that this morning. You mean the regen braking is even stronger? I love mine, how much of a difference is it?
