Flavor, vapor, and throat hit are trickier at lower nic levels. Most of our flavors are created first in med/high nic, and then modified for lower levels. Believe it or not, removing nicotine does affect the flavor. And throat hit is more than anything dependent on nicotine level. You still should be getting decent vapor though. My wife vapes 0 and 4 (she wasn't much of a smoker) and she gets huge vapor. Without knowing what flavors and types of carts, it's difficult to diagnose specifically. It's always good to remember too, long, slow puffs for big vapor.

All of the preceding yielded less vapor than I am accustomed to with my 'reds', 'RY4', 'Torque56', and 'Freedom Juice' (tobacco flavors at 6mg Nicotine). At least the 4mg cartos/juices start to approach them, but are noticably weaker. And the zero mg juices/cartos, particularly the fruity flavors were very weak in terms of vapor/flavor. Out of the zero nicotine flavors, the banana foster and chocolate banana were the best flavor/vapor production, but were still a lacking in both for my tastes.I think I will order a coffee sampler (because of the positive reviews here) but step up to the 8mg or 11mg strength. I won't hold you responsible or anything, but just wanted to know if there was a very general minimum nicotine level that you might want to suggest...

Hello Everyone, hope I'm not stepping on any toes here. My name is Mark, I have been working at Vapor4Life (and Vaping) for almost 2 years and it still amazes me how quickly people take to ecigs. One of the members here pointed me to this thread. As someone who eats, sleeps, and breathes ecigs (no pun intended ), it is very cool to me to see a discussion like this take place in a non-ecig forum. I've read through the whole thread and I'm amazed at how quickly you guys picked up on the nuances of the vaping world. I'm not going to come in here and plug V4L, because thats not the way that I operate. The bottom line is that if you are choosing ecigs and getting rid of stinky traditional cigs, it's a win.VAPE ON and GO PACK!

The reason there are no public companies involved could be because the FDA says electronic cigarettes are not safe. They could possibly regulate them once they determine their safety. The FDA recently invited e-cig firms to cooperate with them in determining the safety of them, and how they would be regulated.

As far as I know, there are no public ecig companies yet. It's still a fairly new technology, and not 100% perfect yet in the manufacturing and quality control process. I believe there will be public companies in the next 1-2 years.

I use the KR808D1s interchangeably (VaporKingXL, Bloog FusionMaxx & USB Passthru) and don't notice a significant difference. I will compliment V4L on the XLs though, I think they are a smidge better than the Bloogs (no 5 second cut-off) and the XLs certainly hold their charges longer being 102mm vs. the 78mm. I use the XLs and the Passthru the most, and frequently rotate, retry the various flavors to see if my opinions will change with usage and over time; but all of these personal vaporizers are close enough in performance that I enjoy them equally and don't find the cartridge performance to be lacking when I rotate between whatever's handy and fully charged.

Flavor reviews (all from alien vision)

Just fyi, I think I was spoiled with 2 awesome flavors from the get go in the prefilled carts send with my V4L starter pack. The cool carts classic caramel mocha frappe and the cool carts classic cafe mocha. None of the sample 5 pack that I just received came close to giving me the enjoyment I got from the 2 I just mentioned. Perhaps it was because it was my first refill? I'm adding the level of "pops and crackle" to the descriptions because I really like that. Both the carts I mentioned above had just the right amount of pop and crackle.

Bobas Bounty (18mg)

Tastes like unlit tobacco. Smooth decent flavor, not much TH. Pop and crackle virtually non-existant. Wouldn't order this one again. I'm not really looking for tobacco flavors now and it seems that's what this flavor is set out to do.

Strawberry Cheesecake (18mg)

Does taste kind of like strawberry cheesecake but I'm just not into the fruity stuff. Nice TH. Tiny bit of crackle and decent vapor. Can't smoke too much of this stuff. Wouldn't order again.

Sweet Tart (18mg)

Tastes like a sweet tart. Basically the same review as Strawberry Cheesecake although I enjoyed the flavor a little more.

Massive Chocolate Mint (18mg)

Like EG said before, it does taste like a thin mint. I enjoyed the flavor although and it was my favorite of the 5. No pop and crackle. I don't think I'll be ordering this one again.

English Toffee (24mg)

This is the one I was most disappointed in. Doesn't taste like toffee at all. Just a bad flavor. Although it did have the best TH but that's probably because of the higher nic. dosage. No pop and crackle but a little bit of a gurgling noise. Avoid.

I may try a couple of different flavors again but I'm definitely going to get more of the cool carts classic caramel mocha frappe and the cool carts classic cafe mocha.

Ok Guys... The wife has been wanting to try the E-cigs for some time now but could never decide what to get. Looking for suggestions as to what she should start out with being a 1-1.5 pk a day Marlboro Light smoker.. Sounds like taking advantage of the V4L sale is the way to go? Does Bloog often offer similar sales? So many of you seem to like the MaxFusion, perhaps that is the better one?

People speak very highly of the Bloog for sure. I think everyone who made a choice Bloog/V4L has a natural leaning towards the one they chose. A little history... the guy that owns Bloog left V4L with the Bloog technology. Bad blood there. The Bloog product may be good, but... I dunno, sounds like he screwed V4L. Supposedly he developed it on their dime and took off. I just feel more confident with V4L, it's a real business amd not a one man show in some guy's basement. I had a bad battery and got a new one in 2 days from V4L. I don't think either one would be a bad choice, but I think Bloog is backlogged. Not much in stock, and out of batteries. Anyway, what I would suggest as a 2 1/2 to 3 pack a day M'boro lights smoker for your wife at 1 to 1 1/2 a day is the V4L XL manual starter kit. A tobacco sampler 5 pack, a coffee sampler 5 pack, and be sure to get some different N dosages. I thought 8 to 18mg would be good for me, it wasn't. I need 24mg, with some 36mg carts. At first even the 18 made me cough, but I quickly got used to it, as I did, I wanted more N. It will take a little experimenting with both flavors and N dosage to find out what will work, it's VERY different from one person to the next. The Bloog will cost more, a fair amount more, and I've never heard of him holding a sale. 25% off V4L is pretty hefty. Manual batteries have a small button on the side to activate it, autos you just puff on like you would a regular cigarette. As for which is better, it really is a matter of personal preference.

Nothing is obvious about something new. FWIW folks on here speak pretty highly of the manual, and also there seem to be a number of "I'll never switch from Manual" posters on ECF. Reportedly, manuals are a bit stronger, and autos require a primer puff for the assembly to heat up. I'm happy with my auto but I get my first manual Tuesday probably and will report back with my own comparison.

I most certainly am. It's like practically having a lit cigarette on you at all times. I think part of my problem is that I'm either not using a high enough nicotine (this probably ain't it because I'm using 24mg) or I'm just not using the right voltage for me. Whenever I was smoking cigarettes, I'd smoke one, and by the time I was done I had reached my threshold. Wouldn't smoke again for however many minutes. With e-cigs I can't seem to hit that threshold, so in turn I have to hit it more frequently, but with less puffs per session than a cigarette.

I've found myself vaping a lot more while this board was unavailable. But in all seriously, yeah I have been vaping more frequently than I smoked. Partly because it's more convenient, partly to avoid cig withdrawal of any kind.

So I have an XL battery that my GF got juice into a week or so ao, and it only worked occasionally, so its been sitting in a drawer since then...last night I left my spare battery at her house, so I grabbed the bad one just for the hell of it...lo and behold, it works like new again!

So now Ive got 3 XL autos with a manual XL on the way...I think Im set in batteries for a while lol

Try taking a puff off of it without a carto attached...if the LED doesnt come on, try blowing as hard as you can through the LED end and see if the light will come on...it could just be a little clogged...Also, the 3 little holes just underneath the outside threads of the battery can sometimes get gunked up...take a thin needle or a staple and push it through all 3 holes to clear them out...I do that once a week regardless of performance, just to keep em debris free.Its worth a try anyway

They could possibly regulate them once they determine their safety. The FDA recently invited e-cig firms to cooperate with them in determining the safety of them, and how they would be regulated.

You are misinformed, or wrong for some other reason. The FDA has never said E cigarettes aren't safe. What they said was that they have not been proven safe. They simply have not been tested by the FDA. Additionally, a federal judge told the FDA they cannot size shipments of E cigarettes which they did illegally because they are not a smoking cessation product. The FDA has no jurisdiction over them in that case. The FDA appealed the decision, and the court rejected their appeal. They would not even listen to the FDA, it isn't their jurisdiction.The court rules that E Cigs are a tobacco product. The FDA being controlled by big drug companies is unhappy. They want to make them illegal for reasosn other than safety, economic interests of US drug companies trump people quitting tobacco. Sure, the lion invited the tamer into the cage. People are so easilly led.

aaaaand the forum is back.So I have an XL battery that my GF got juice into a week or so ao, and it only worked occasionally, so its been sitting in a drawer since then...last night I left my spare battery at her house, so I grabbed the bad one just for the hell of it...lo and behold, it works like new again!So now Ive got 3 XL autos with a manual XL on the way...I think Im set in batteries for a while lol

Ha, I guess some win and some lose. One of my XL auto bats just stopped working last night. Hasn't been used much since I discovered USB but it just suddenly stopped 1 hour in last night. Charged again over night and tried putting 3 different carts on it but the blue light is not indicating, and no vapor production. Must be fate that I ordered the extra manual batty for comparison, and good to know V4L has good support so I can call them about the bad one next week.

Try taking a puff off of it without a carto attached...if the LED doesnt come on, try blowing as hard as you can through the LED end and see if the light will come on...it could just be a little clogged...Also, the 3 little holes just underneath the outside threads of the battery can sometimes get gunked up...take a thin needle or a staple and push it through all 3 holes to clear them out...I do that once a week regardless of performance, just to keep em debris free.Its worth a try anyway

No prob...try checking to see if theres lint or something in the TINY little notches in the plastic faux ash tip (these are the air holes). Theres 2 holes, and you can see them easily when the LED is lit, theyre directly opposite of each other.I keep mine in my pocket, and once in a while, lint or fabric or dust gets in those notches...also, I lightly tap the ends on a table before and after I blow backwards through the unit. Seems to help if anything is lodged.

Is anyone finding they're vaping more than they smoked analogs? I don't know if it's just because I can get away with it in places I never would have even tried smoking, but I find I have my PV with me all the time and using it.

I've found myself vaping a lot more while this board was unavailable. But in all seriously, yeah I have been vaping more frequently than I smoked. Partly because it's more convenient, partly to avoid cig withdrawal of any kind.

Yeah, that's kind of what I was talking about.. I find myself in my car hitting my passthrough even more than I was analogs. Sitting at the computer at home or at work I'm hitting it a lot. Convenience and ability seem to be the overriding factor.And I've got the syringe method of refilling cartos pretty much down. Totally convenient and super easy once I realized that a prefilled carto isn't completely empty and won't hold a full mg.

ok...lol...this is gonna sound more complicated than it really is...I was about to say to hell with Tasty Vapors until something clicked and I understood it better. Plus I REALLY wanted the Waffle, so I kept at it until it made sense.You kind of have to do the math before you order to know what strength and PG/VG ratio to order in both the NIC juice and the doublers (theres a spreadsheet at ECF that does the math and spits out what to order for you)

What you do is order the 1oz(30ml) nic juice in one of these strengths (12mg, 24mg, 36mg, 48mg). Then you buy 2oz ($10) or 4oz ($15) of "doubler", which is the same flavor without nicotine. Then you mix doubler into the nic juice until your desired strength is achieved.

users e-cig explained it to me like this:

If you vape at 16mg, you can buy 48mg of a flavor when it's on sale ($10) plus a 2-ounce doubler ($10) and get 3 ounces of 16mg for $20. I don't know of any other vendor that sells for $6.67 an ounce.

The first time you buy a flavor, it's not a bad idea to get just the e-liquid in the strength you want to vape. I've never had a TV liquid that wasn't well made, but I have had some my taste buds rejected (e.g. anything with coconut.) 1 ounce (30ml) for $10 is very reasonable and you're not stuck with 3 ounces of something that's not right for you. Then, when you reorder your favorites, go for the $6.67 per ounce ($8.33 per ounce after shipping)

1oz of 48mg + 1oz of doubler = 2oz 24mg liquid.

1oz of 48mg + 2oz of doubler = 3oz of 16mg liquid

Etc, etc, etc...

Heres a table with recipes for most strengths...if you like say, 18mg, youd have to adjust the mix accordingly, but again, you can use the simple spreadsheet to plug in the 4 variables and it spits out the recipe for you. If you start with 48 MG E-liquid

36 MG = 3oz nic juice + 1oz Doubler

32 MG = 2oz nic juice + 1oz Doubler

24 MG = 1oz nic juice + 1oz Doubler

16 MG = 1oz nic juice + 2oz Doubler

12 MG = 1oz nic juice + 3oz Doubler

9.6 MG = 1oz nic juice + 4oz Doubler

ETA: OR, I could get the 36mg nic juice, order the 4oz doubler, and mix one oz of the doubler into it (diluting it to 18mg), and still have 3oz of doubler for the next 3 times I ordered the nic juice. NOt sure if it comes out as cheap that way, Im too tired to do the math right now.

I re-order four of the 1oz Waffle 36mg nic juice when its on sale ($10 x 4 =$40), and a 4oz doubler (its always $15), thats $55. Add the $5 shipping, and its $60 for 8oz of juice. That comes to $7.50 per 30ml, including shipping.

Then I mix all 4oz of the 36mg Nic Juice with the 4oz of the ZERO nic doubler, and Ive got 8oz (240ml) of 18mg juice.

Then I could trade some of that juice with some fellow FBG vapers for flavors Ive never tried...hmmmmmmm

Very cool. I can't wait to hear how this works out for you because that's about the strength of what I'd want. Did you say previously 80/20 give you basically the best TH a flavor will give at that nic mg?ETA: Big fan of the Cool Carts Peppermint Ice Cream 18 I got as a V4L freebie. Would have never tried mint because I don't like menthol at all. But this is a totally different taste. Good strength too.

I know it's an annoying cliche, but if it worked me me, it should work for anyone. I won't say I still don't jones for a real butt, however I HAD to quit, I just could not afford $10 a pack. If the patch was 10% effective, and the gum was 15% effective for me, these are 90 to 95% effective for me. There are times when vaping does remove all desire for tobacco, and there are times that it nearly removes all desire for a smoke. It still isn't a tobacco cigarette. You still have to want it and be comitted to quitting, at least in my case. For me it isn't effortless. It comes as close to that as I think is possible though. I went from 2 1/2 to 3 packs on M'boro lights a day to zero overnight, now starting day 13. I started with 18mg stuff, and now use 24 and 36mg cartos about 50-50. I also found I prefer non-tobacco flavors, and that really surprised me. The non-tobacco flavors actually work better for me in supressing my desire to smoke. So, keep an open mind, and stick with it until you find what hits your "sweet spot" the best. And good luck.Man, I forgot about that stupid FED holiday yesterday. I was expecting a big shipment of supplies, and ran out of my 36mg stuff last night. I may have to go track down the mailman today. He usually shows up at 4pm. I agree about the flavors. Right out of the gate, after I had my first drag of Cafe Mocha I didn't want tobacco. It was more satisfying. Sort of like a coffee and a smoke mixed into one. It's so nice to not have to worry about smoke odor getting on your or the things you own as well. When I first started I was like "why not, the whole starter kit is the cost of 7 packs of cigarettes".

OK, this past weekend was my first with the Bloog. I followed advice from the forum and tried to go a full day without analog and only the bloog. The bloog definitely took the edge off of my cravings, but it didn't quite satisfy the same way; I think this is because I started with the lowest nic levels - 6mg. I will say that it has drastically cut down on the number of analogs I desire, so it's helping.

I ordered some cartos at the 11mg nic level and hopefully those will help. I read somewhere that the higher nic level also adds to the throat hit. My wife is on board with the PV - I couldn't believe it, but I was actually vaping in my house without complaint. My wife keeps my house so sterile that I was certain that she would pick up on some odor, but nothing happened.

Huge thumbs up for vaping in the house and at the office without issue. I only smoke 1/2 pack a day of analogs, but I think the higher nic level will help with the bloog.
