Whats the website for the REO Grand?
reosmods.com
taking the pluuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuundge
It's a whole different ballgame. My recommendation to you is to buy 2 AW IMR High Drain 18650 batteries (supertmanufacturing.com is the cheapest I've found, $10.49 EA), a charger that will hold 18650s, a few Cisco 306 atomizers and an acrylic 306 drip tip from avidvaper.com. That's the setup that has given me the best results, although some swear by 510 atomizers. I find the 306s to be better workhorse performers. Buy these ASAP so you'll have them in hand when the Grand arrives. Then, you can just plug and play.
Have a couple questions:a charger that will hold 18650s: Where can I but this? And is there a specific kind?

a few Cisco 306 atomizers: Not seeing these specifically in the product catalog or I am misinterpreting the kind

http://www.avidvaper.com/categories/Atomizers/

Is it not available any more?
Ordered a black/silver. Also curious about the answers to these questions. Would like to order everything today to be good to go as soon as it arrives.

Figured it out. Ordered the following. http://www.avidvaper.com/products/-Cisco-LR306-1.5-ohm-Atomizer-%252b-Drip-Tip-Special.html

Had them packaged together at a cheaper price.

Yeah, I had saw that but if you look at the website there are no longer any photos of the black & gold mods. The color I ended up with would've been my second or third choice, so I'm still happy with it. I might even paint the back of it to where it looks like a Bo Jackson jersey.

Two months smoke-free.

Gonna make a liquid purchase this evening and they're all gonna be at a lower nicotine strength.

Anybody came across some good tobacco juices lately?

Congrats! It'll be 3 months for me this Friday. If you haven't tried some of the tobacco flavors available from Alien Visions, they would be my first suggestion. I just ordered my first batch of Wyatt Erp from FreedomSmokeUSA based on recommendations from others.

I've tried Boba's, Gorilla, and Havana Gold from Alien Visions. Liked them all, but I don't really think I'm a fan of 100% VG.Plan on getting some Halo Torque 56, Halo Bella Valente, Vapor Station Tampa, and Vapor Station Texas. I can't really hit the sweet stuff.

The only tobacco flavor I've really stayed with is Backwoods Brew's Casablanca. Ill probably try their applewood ony next order. I don't really consider Bobas a tobacco flavor. That's still my main vape.

Add moonlight bowling to my stealth vapes, not that you need to be very stealth in a black lit bowling alley. Cool experience to do it indoors in a festive atmosphere though. My first time having a total stranger ask to try it out. I probably sold 3 starter sets for V4L.

Congrats to the new Grand owners. My brother also managed to nab one, black and blue.

Fro, any battery charger that says it will house 18650s will work fine, it's up to you how much you want to spend on a charger. The one I got cost about $10 and works great, I don't think there's much need to invest heavily in a charger. And those atomizers you got are 1.5ohm. Cisco 306 low resistance atomizers come in 1.5, 1.8, and 2.0 ohm models. I only use the 2.0 ohm, I find lower resistances to burn way too hot and provide a harsh, flavorless hit. However, there are some that swear by 1.5ohm (I consider myself something of a throat hit junkie and 1.5 is too much for me, so I don't know what's wrong with these people - haha). Personally, I think you may only want to use 1.5 with certain juices that can handle it, for example - the Wyatt Earp works well at 1.8 ohms, but Boba's tastes burnt and the atty gets dried up too fast at 1.8, for me, it's only vapeable at 2.0 ohms.

Here's a direct link to the product page for the 2.0s You may want to grab one or two up front, just in case the juice you have doesn't work well at 1.5, or if 1.5 is too harsh for you (as it is for me.) I've found the sweet spot on the Grand to be a 3.7V high drain battery and a 2.0ohm Cisco 306, then just swap out the battery nightly as production will just start to taper off after 12-15 hours of steady vaping.

I wasn't either, until I got my Grand. 100% VG works so much better in this thing - in fact, 80% of the time I'm using it, I'm vaping 100% VG and now I use most of my PG-heavy juices strictly to fill 808 cartos for office use.

Interesting. I'm finding that the 100% VG juice tends to clog up the attys on my grand. Nothing major, but the vapor and flavor tends to drop off on me using both the cisco 2ohm 510 and 306's. Starting to think I might be over squonking...as long as I blow the atty out every now and then I'm right back where I want to be though.Ordered some Boge LR cartos to try on the grand, should be home by the time I get there...

You might be overfilling the atty. The Grands are actually designed to work best with 100% VG, the fabricator, Rob, uses 100% VG juice exclusively. As a result, thinner juices can sometimes overfeed without you even pumping the bottle, that's why he includes that almost-microscopic reducer tube in case 100% PG juices flood the atty without squonking.I usually just pump it every so often just until I see juice in the catch cup and at the very bottom of the atomizer. Then, I'll take a quick hard pull without firing to get the juice up into the atty. Wait 30 seconds or so, and you get 4-5 huge perfect hits off of it. Then, repeat. I rarely flood it, and if you do, you can just fire the unit, blow gently into the tip, and most of the excess liquid will flush back out into the catch cup. Then, if you overdid it terribly, you can soak that up with a paper towel, or just hit it gently and fire it until you've vaped it up.

That was mainly a troubleshooting primer for the owners to be.

I'm gonna post this simply because of what a great deal it is. Those of you who have yet to take the plunge, and even some of us who have been around for a while might be interested in something different as well ... I know I've put one in my cart and gone through the process of ordering right up until clicking the confirm order button. I really don't need another PV, but the more I hear about it, the tougher it is to pass on.

How's $29.99 ($4.99 flat rate shipping) sound on a complete mod starter kit?!? It's getting very decent reviews over at ECF, which is where I came across the details. I'm happy to present...

The SparkPlug for Smokers

"The Sparki internet starter kit gives you all you need to get started with your smokeless solution. Now try for thirty days risk free! Manufactured and hand assembled in the USA. Using an entirely mechanical process, the SparkPlug for smokers is the most reliable smokeless option on the market. Extensively engineered and tested, the SparkPlug for Smokers is designed to provide the most reliable performance and comes with a 30 day money back guarantee to back up this claim. We blow the Chinese products out of the water with an up to 24 hour battery life. If you want a serious smoking alternative that works choose SparkPlug for Smokers."

Comes with:

(1) Sparki Power Regulator (Patent pending) featuring a totally mechanical manual switch - available in Black, Blue, Pink and Metallic

(1) BE 112 (801) Sparki Atomizer

(2) 16340 3.7Volt 800MhA Sparki Batteries

(1) Sparki Travel Charger

(1) 5 PK Filled Cartridges (Origional Flavor)

(1) 16 ML Bottle Smokless Liquid Refill (24MG/High Nicotine)

Starter kits also include the Thermo Tube which as I understand it allows you to use the device with both batteries increasing the voltage and runtime. The reviews of the juice flavor are pretty uninspiring, so that is something to consider as you'll likely to want to get some elsewhere.

Pretty amazing deal actually, and I may have just convinced myself to take the plunge on a pretty stealthy little PV...

Thanks! This process is much more effective. Also, I'm really digging these Boge LR Cartos on the Grand. This setup has been the best of both worlds so far. I occasionally ran into times when the Grand would tip just right in my chest pocket and allow any juice in the catch cup to leak all over my shirt. :bag: This setup has completely eliminated the juice buildup in the catch cup. And any that does happen to accumulate, is quickly sucked into the carto when you take a hit. Same great flavor and vapor as I was getting with attys, but just a little less messy. Not to mention with the right deal you can get 5 of these for the price of 1 atty...

Kinda hard to go wrong at that price. But I'm supposed to be on a self imposed ordering ban. Hmmmmmm.......

Well, for those of us still in the stone age of vaping, who aren't horking on a walkie-talkie, I can confirm that the Bloog cartos were worth the wait. More volume, great vapor production, better throat hit, better flavor. They actually kind of resurrected one of my V4L pv's that has become too "airy." With the bloog carts I can get a good solid hit, whereas with the v4l carts, I was getting no throat hit and very little vapor.

I think my days of vaping v4l are numbered and I'm not really enjoying the refilling or the tast/vapor production/th of used carts. I may go with an Ego. Looks like a nice in between of the v4l and the REOs. Don't want to carry around something as large as a REO although the REO mini has me intrigued. Also the buzz is an option.

I agree it gets tiresome. In my case tho, I don't want to get too invested in vaping. If I can step down, and eventually eliminate the nicotine, I'll pass my gear on to another smoker. I enjoy vaping, but I just can't reconcile the idea that inhaling anything other than air is a good idea in the long term.

Keep an eye on the classifieds over at ECF. There are always some very nice deals to be had. I got my Grand used off the forums. Every now and then a Grand, or mini as well as some of the others you mentioned are available. I just saw a blue buzz (with batteries & 2 attys) for $90 ...

I got Mint as one of my last selections and I think I'm gonna load up bigger on that flavor in my next order. Nice hit, nice vapor.

OK! Got the Cisco LR atomizers and drip tips and testing them out over lunch...coupla initial thoughts:

-Sure does give a good hit. Easier to pull, too--more like a cigaret than the slow and easy hit off the eGo-t.

-Sure does take a lot more work, dripping into the coil. I'm thinking this is more a sitdown first thing in the am thing, as I'm worried about burning the atomizer dry here--and think I overfilled it to compensate so it leaked a little one time. Not so sure about carrying it around all the time since I suspect I'd drain it pretty quick--how long should it last? The

helped.

Don't worry too much about burning the atomizer. You should be able to tell, by taste, when it's time for some more liquid. Don't forget that they do take a while to fully break in. If you do feel that you've overfilled it--and you should be able to tell--just simply unscrew it and blow it out to where all the excess liquid comes out of the battery end.

lol--'overfilled it'?!! Oooohhhhh yeah....Quick report since I'm going down...after posting last time the power went out in the building I manage so that tied up all sorts of time shutting systems down and then bringing them back up properly. Then a call from my wife and I was responsible for our 1 yo which takes 100% attention.

Then a couple quick covers at the homestead and supper.

Midst of all that I'm testing. Got to the point I just stood that drip tip up on the atomizer and filled it; figured it was running out so fast that I wanted to jack it up. Got back to it after all had absorbed (no leaks?!!) and it still felt like it dropped a level after 5 hits.

Fast forward a few hours, and I did a regular 5-drip and hit it again when all the smoke had cleared and I could settle a little.

Good stuff. Think I hit it a dozen-and-a-half times, and there might still be a couple good ones in the chamber.

So I'm confused, but figure that's going to be the first hit in the am and see where it goes from there. Gotta be no muss no fuss during the day.

eta--filled it up again overnight and hitting it this morning early. Good hits, using some of the 24mg cappacino from my initial Joye order. That's generally been my morning go-to, with Dulce de Leche a smoother afternoon flavor. Loading the cart that way seems to do the trick 'cause I've hit it numerous times.

Hmm. I was in my local Lowes vaping yesterday. Nobody said anything, but I wasn't flaunting it either.

I sent an email - May as well ban candy cigarettes as well. What health and safety are you protecting by banning water vapor? Maybe you should ban nicotine patches and gum while you are at it? Are toothpicks next?

Like I said when airline bans were being discussed, I can't blame businesses for doing this when the alternative is dealing with hundreds of other ignorant and irate customers who are accusing them of violating no-smoke bans. I'm sure they look at this as the simplest approach, since they are in the business of keeping the majority of their customers complaint-free. I'd like to think these bans will be lifted when the technology is better understood.

Well said. I've been surprised too since quitting smoking at how few folks I've smelled evidence of smoking with. Having smoked for so long myself I knew I was in the minority--but the small size of that minority is still surprising. That would suggest that the numbers of people in public who do not understand vaping is likely very large.

Thanks for posting this! Just sent the following email:
I am deeply disturbed by something I just read on the internet and want to confirm if it's true... I have been a loyal Lowe's customer for years, so if the Lowe's policy #415 I've quoted above is true, then you don't even need to bother replying to this email. I've decided that any company that would discriminate against former tobacco addicts who have turned to electronic cigarettes to break free from ugly, smelly, nasty, cancer inducing cigarettes (the real ones) is also a company that I want NOTHING to do with moving forward. Personally, I think it's great that electronic cigarettes eliminate the pollution that comes from cigarette butts and harmful smoke and ash, and instead produce harmless/odorless water vapor. Employees and consumers that have made the healthier choice of throwing away "cancer sticks" for this environmentally friendly and healthier alternative should not be insulted by this type of discriminatory policy. Therefore, I will be shopping at Home Depot, and encouraging all of the contractors and friends that I know to do the same.On the other hand if this is merely a rumor or outright internet et fabrication, then please reply immediately and let me know that I have been fooled by the internet in an effort to get me to stop shopping Lowe's.Sincerely,Geoff8695

I'm in love. This thing pretty much rocks. Amazing flavor. It's like I'm experiencing all new flavors I've been vaping for the past month. Huge clouds of vapor and great hits every time. I don't think I'll need anything else. Also getting good hits from my low nic juice. Now that I have my reo I think I'm really ready to start decreasing my nic. The low nic really wasn't the same in the cartos.

Thank you EG and all the other REO users that helped me make this choice. It's a fun new toy.

+1.

Props to everyone in this thread for spreading the word and experimenting with this stuff to give solid tips and advice. Never would have made the switch were it not for this thread. Not only is vaping healthier but it's turned into a kind of cool hobby as well.

Been reading the ejuice reviews on the ecig forum to plan out who I'll placing my next orders with. Curious to see what everybody's top five juices are after a few months of trying different ones out, if most here have settled on a few go-to juices. Right now I'm rotating Boba's Bounty/Gorilla Juice from AVE, Malty Toffee from Backwoods Brew, Vanilla Bean from Vaperite, RY4 from Ikenvape. Can vape all these for long stretches without needing to switch up, which is what I'm looking for.

I've found I really like the Snackers from V4L. I'm using the 11mg and I get a pretty good TH, good vapor and great flavor. I've been vaping it exclusively for the past 2 weeks.

:thumbup:You can vape much lower nic juice out of this thing and still be satisfied. I've had mine over a month now and still using the same rotation of 4 atomizers - while a drop-off in performance is to be expected at this point, they still work fine and still satisfy me without having to deal with re-filling cartos or having batteries die on you at inconvenient times, etc. Boba's is my favorite juice in this thing. Not only is the flavor insanely good, but the vapor clouds are borderline preposterous. Looks like a gravity bong exhale....

I have not tried most of those you mention. I've got a heck of a lot of 18/24 cartomizers that I haven't touched in 2-3 weeks since I started filling my own. Right now I'm in a pretty good routine rotating favors I like:1. Capuccino (Now my fave, after not liking it at first :lmao: )2. Expresso (much more solid flavor using better cartomizers) 3. Bananas Foster4. Coffee (notice a theme?)5. Choco Banana6. Cafe Mocha (24 mg)All V4L flavors @ 18 mg except Cafe Mocha, which I like stronger than 18. I finally got Caramel Mocha Frappe juice and I like it enough to work into the rotation, but not as much as the above. Other V4L that I tried and really liked were Red Energy, Pina Colada (seemingly I'm one of few who does), Cola 24, peppermint ice cream.

Same here on the lower nic ... been vaping 6mg only since the REO arrived. Once all my current juice is exhausted, I'll be venturing into no-nic land. :excited:

:banned: Ive been singing the praises of Cappuccino for a while. Sometimes I leave it alone for 2-3 days and when I go back to it, I forget why I put it down. Its a solid member of my regular rotation. Right now, Im on a 3 juice schedule of TV Waffle, V4L Cappuccino, and V4L Apple, with some samples and other flavors here and there for the hell of it. I think Apple is my new favorite. Ive gone through about 15ml over the last week, gonna need to re-up pretty soon.
