Electronic Cigarettes (4 Viewers)

Couple of flavor reviews to add...

With the eGo-t I ordered (vaporpro) I ordered two which remain my favorites:

Dulce de Leche 24mg--my go-to, especially later in the day

Cappacino 24mg--Almost as good, frequently do this one in the mornings but after awhile it's not as smooth.

I've also tried both with the Cisco LR360 and the enhanced vape is excellent.

When I got the LR360 & driptips I also ordered four flavors from V4L to try out, all in 18mg:

English Toffee, Dark Chocolate Rasberry, Peach Cobbler and Banana.

The jury is still out--but I'm not as keen on any of them as the first two; does nic strength make that much difference? they've been vaped more often with the LR than the eGo.

Can I a get a quick run-down on these things? Seems like they're working for you guys based on the last couple pages.

Where should I order from?

What should I order?

How much should I order?

How long will this order last me?

Smoking about half a pack a day right now.

Youll get 2 schools of thought on this. The first is that you should start with an 808 style kit, like the ones from Vapor4Life and Bloog, which look a lot like actual cigarettes. Youll need to order some extra juice and carts or else youll be wishing you did a few days after you get your starter kit, and once you spend the initial cost of the kit (from $50-$100 depending on what kit you get) the cost is quite low compared to smoking. The other line of thinking is that you should skip the starter models an go for the gusto of a MOD. Guys like Rover, Evilgrin, trogg, et al can point you in the right direction for those.Myself, I smoked a pack and a half a day of full flavor cigs (Marlboro), and the 808's have been working perfectly for me for almost 4 months now, and I have no desire to move up to a bigger/stronger unit. Your mileage may vary. The thing you gotta do is find a juice in a flavor and strength you like, and from there its a piece of cake.

Do you like the eGo? Would you recommend it to someone like me who, during most days, the v4l battery is just fine, but sometimes, like when I'm golfing, I need something more "robust".

:goodposting: What he said. How important to you is it that it look like a traditional smoke? Answer that question, and I'm sure we can suggest a starting point for you.

Tons of info can be found over at ECF also.

Alas, dripping without dripping.
Pretty awesome, eh?
Hell yeah it is. I went from having to carry two batteries, juice bottles, and having to drip every 4-5 pulls to just being able to grab this thing and going. Currently breaking in a 306 1.8 and a 510 2.0 but I've got the feeling I will still want my 306 1.5's back in my life. Has anybody tried the dual-coil 510 cartomizers from Avid Vaper yet? I think I might put one or two of those in my next order.

:goodposting: CC, your 1/2 PAD habit is exactly where I was February 12, and you'd have to drag me kicking and screaming back to cigs.

People have had success with most products they've tried, so there is no wrong answer. For my $.02 newcomers should get a Vapor4Life XL starter kit (recommend manual), and definitely ask about a V4L sale code here (or PM me) before you do. Just yesterday they had a 38% off sale, which is gigantic when you are getting a $65 starter kit and some flavors. Basically there is almost always a 20%-30% sale running. It's a great place to start even if ultimately you decide to spend $200 for the sort of toys some have graduated to. I still use my XL batteries exclusively, and don't expect to need anything else. I can't speak highly enough of V4L.

Along with your starter kit you'll get 5 flavored cartomizers of your choice of flavor/nic strength. You might as well try the tobacco sampler, and I'd recommend 18 mg which was about right for me as a 1/2 PAD smoker. Like me, many have been surprised to find they prefer non-tobacco flavors, so I'd recommend getting 1 pack coffee sampler ($10), 1 pack fruit sampler ($10). Finally, I strongly recommend getting 1 pack increased nicotine (24 mg) for strong nic urges ($10). It was a godsend for me to feel the strength of a 24 mg when I had doubts of ecigs replacing cigs my first few days (which was short lived). That was more psychological, as I almost exclusively use and prefer 18 mg now.

So figure roughly $100 (which you can get down to $75 or so with a sale code) and you should be set for 2-3 weeks, with your necessary go-forward equipment totally taken care of. Then forward, you're expense is very low as you'll have favorite flavors and would buy cartomizer/juice/blanks of what you really like going forward, probably on sale.

Just got an order in from Goodejuice.

Root beer rocks!! I had a root beer sample from V4L but they apparently don't make it anymore. I ordered 6mg all VG and the TH and VH are great.

Still have raspberry and cheesecake to try.

Random thoughts--I'm really getting embedded in this despite my better convictions...

Wingnut--you're right on time. Like your attitude and the way it's working for you although I'm going with Gadabout's avenue.

Love the eGo-t tank system, Cunk. This thread caught my attention in a way that I just knew it was going to work, after several times trying without success over 40+ years--and I studied the options through the first 9 pages before committing. All the options give us the rituals of smoking, along with the fix. That's Huuuuuuge. I looked at the different methods and the easier fillups and longer times really appealed to me. Only problem with the eGo-tank was that it was kinda faint--good flavor but little smoke, even though it has a great loading system. So...

Gadabout recommended the Cisco LR and seemed to think that it was such hot stuff I'd be falling all over myself thanking him later!

ummmmmmm.....THANKS, Gadabout!! :banned:

That LR made it much much much fuller flavored. It works like a high voltage hit on a low voltage expense. If it wasn't for that tedious drip process....

So I did some googling today, looking for some way to combine the two. I want the full flavor and toke of the LR effect, with the convenient setup of the eGo-t tanks.

Googled "LR e-cig tanks". They've started making them for the eGo-t's.

I'll be ordering them tomorrow and give a report. If it works I don't intend to need that REO.

:coffee:

:hifive: Yeah, by the time those LR ego-t atomizers had come out I was already onto the Ciscos. I heard they were pretty good, tho. With the ego-t, my problem was not getting enough flavor. Vapor and all that stuff was fine. The concept was great but they need to fine tune it some.

After using nothing but cisco atomizers on the ego batteries for the last two months or so, it's safe to say that way this Reo, I'm done. This whole setup was what I desired and that's exactly what I've got now.

I have about 18ml of my 24mg stuff waiting to get vaped. Right next to all that is about 100ml of 16-18mg juice. I sampled some of the weaker stuff and it really wasn't all that bad. I'm thinking that with the Reo and some 1.5ohm atomizers there might not be much difference at all.

Anyways.

Glad to hear it's working out for you.

Maybe strange....early on in the thread I saw the warnings against catching a hit of the raw e-liquid. It's a little strong but doesn't affect me that way--I find myself simply licking off the overdrips before hitting the vape. Of course chasing it with a beer in the evenings helps diffuse the taste; hope it's not too strong a nicotine hit...

Bought the vapor4life setup. I am down to 11mg carts and it's been a month without a cigarette. I went to lunch with my boss yesterday and did not bring my PV. I ate a huge lunch and could not vape for an hour after I ate. I did not even thinking about not having my PV and I was not freaking for nicotine. A month ago I would have been climbing the walls for a cigarette.

Not only am I no longer smoking (which I did for 25 years) I sometimes forget to vape after a meal or coffee. I think in a month or two I can stop vaping if I want to. This thread made me take the plunge and try an e-cig and maybe now I won't die a slow death from cancer.

7 months analog free!!

Still bounce around between 0-6mg juice but i'm completely cool with that in comparison to smoking.

Vaping some 0mg raspberry now, no TH but a nice VH and good taste!! I don't really miss the TH and my idea of a TH @ 4 or 6 is completely different than what most of you are getting i'm sure.

This thread...........saving lives since 2010.
:goodposting: Wish there was some way to figure out the success rate both of those who have posted and those silent doers like the above. Frankly it is hard to fathom the statistical success - keeping in mind the few 'failed' attempts seem to have been based on people liking vaping too much, and going back to cigs for nicotine management.

Loving the REO but getting a burnt taste out of the any of the atomizers I use here and there. Takes a while for the horrible taste to go away. Squonking a lot to try and avoid it--after using only 808s, does it just take a while to get the hang of it or could it be a technical thing? I've used cisco 306 and 510 atomizers, haven't had an experience with them until now.

If you're getting a burnt taste, the odds are very good that either :1) The atomizer(s) you're using are too low resistance for the voltage/juice you're using. I kept getting a burnt taste using 1.5 and 1.8 ohm Cisco 306s with Boba's Bounty, once I switched to the 2.0, the problem ceased. The lower resistances work well with Wyatt Earp, though.2) You're not keeping the atomizer wet enough. When you first use it, you need to drip a few drops of juice down on it, let it soak for a minute or two, add another, let it sit for another minute, then vape. What I do is, as soon as I stop getting "gurgling" (like drinking the last of a soda through a straw), I squonk it until I see juice come out into the catch cup, give it a sharp quick pull without firing the atty, then fire it and vape away. The key with 306s is to keep them nice and wet at all times, if you don't, it will taste burnt.

Awesome, exactly the info I was looking for. Using a 1.5 ohm cisco and didn't drip and wait. Need to order some more attys anyway so I'll pick up some 2.0's. And good to know that the gurgling sound is what to listen for, I like something like that to confirm I'm getting a good vape before it turns out I'm not. Good info, thanks EG.

Pretty much. It's been my experience that sweet juices work better with the higher ohm atomizers. All I really use are tobacco juices and those seem to perform way better at 1.5.Atomizers definitely have a learning curve to them, but once you get the hang of them and their idiosyncrasies, it'll be smooth sailing. Like EG said, the most critical part of using an atomizer is breaking it in properly.

You really only have to drip and wait the very first time you use it. After that, what I usually do is, if it's first thing in the AM and it hasn't been used in a while, I'll squonk the bottle until the catch cup has a decent amount of juice in it, take a really good sharp toke WITHOUT firing the atomizer (which typically empties the catch cup), then let it sit for 30-60 seconds before taking my first hit of the day. After that, I usually squonk it every 4 or so hits just until I see juice coming through the 4 holes on the circumference of the catch cup. If you do that, you should get some light "gurgling" when you draw from it. When that gurgling stops, I'll usually take 1 (and only one) more hit from it, then squonk it again until you just see juice coming out in the catch cup. You'll get the hang of it pretty quickly, and you may have your own style, this is just what I do, and I almost never taste that burnt atomizer taste any more. With thinner juices like my 80/20 PG Earp, I only squonk it once every 8 or 9 hits, as with the thinner juice, the suction created when you hit it is actually sufficient to feed the atomizer without squeezing the bottle for the most part.

Absolutely right on the bolded. The Earp works much better at 1.5/1.8, the Boba's (which is fruity tasting despite being a tobacco base) is virtually unvapeable with a 1.5/1.8.

Anybody got a current v4l code? Missed yesterday's extravaganza... :kicksrock:
The current promotion is 35% off bargin bin itemsUntil 11:59pm CDT April 24thNo minimum orderPromo Code: Bunny35You can, however, use promo code 'smilin' anytime to get 10% off
Awesome. Time to load up.
Normally, I'd suggest you hold off a couple days (assuming you can) as they almost always have something better than 10% off right around the corner, but I just saw this over at ECF:
This message is just a heads up for everyone. Next Friday, April 29th, our CS and fulfillment staff will be shut down. We are moving to a bigger facility (again), and we need all hands on deck to help with the move. We will get as many orders shipped out on Thursday as we can. Normal shipping and CS hours will resume Monday, and we will be doing everything we can to get caught up. So if you have an order that you need shipped before next Friday, it will have to be placed before noon on Thursday. Thanks,Mark and the V4L crew
So waiting might now be such a good idea afterall...

Not only is the flavor insanely good, but the vapor clouds are borderline preposterous. Looks like a gravity bong exhale....
You ain't even lying. I've got the last bit of my Gorilla Juice in there right now. The amount of vapor it produces is damn near comical.

Some good ones! I'm thinking to start with one of the passthroughs like Tecumseh did--having that to vape at the desktop would save the mobile batteries for standard fare. And then....didn't much like the sweeter flavors maybe because of the lowered nic? But that Apple flavor which Wingnut referred to would be worth the try. I'm hoping the Cisco LR will attach to the passthrough, and trying it with the sour green apple juice. Then, I've been eying that caramel mocha frappe juice for awhile....

It's also 5V vs. the 3.7V you get with a battery. It's great, but make sure you replenish carts often using PT because mine tended to burn out very quick. Still loved it though. If anyone gets a manual USB PT, let me know how it is.

i have a question for you, bigjim. i read this thread on and off, and i think you are the one who was hiding regular (analog) smoking from your wife in the past (sorry if i have you confused with someone else). anyway, if it is you, how did she not smell smoke on you? even if you wore gloves and brushed your teeth afterwards, your face would still have a smoke scent to it, as would your hair (if you have any). did you shower prior to letting her get close to you?

It's also 5V vs. the 3.7V you get with a battery. It's great, but make sure you replenish carts often using PT because mine tended to burn out very quick. Still loved it though. If anyone gets a manual USB PT, let me know how it is.

Wow, I have to really set my pride aside here to answer that (I know, WHAT pride?). But basically it was a combination of wearing waterproof wind breaker, hats, golf glove... put immediately in a dryer with a scented dryer sheet. Masking of scent using scented lotions, cigars when at our cabin or golf/poker outings, and there are a lot of other scent masks (campfire, gasoline, dryer sheets). On the go I'd do it in the 50+ MPH car with a cracked open window that sucked everything right out, and frequent visits to gas station rest rooms. And yes, immediate showers if I did it at home when she left for an errand. Like I said, WHAT pride? I used to lie awake at night praying for a solution. It's humiliating for me to type that out but OTOH it might put into perspective why ecigs were such a miracle for my life and mental well being. Funny, it just occurred to me I have not dreamed about cigarettes in the past 2 months, which was pretty frequent before.

I'd be surprised if your wife really didn't know--it's that pervasive. Neither of my wives smokes. One time we took my ex-wife's Intrepid to her folks for the afternoon, and I had to split on an errand. 45 minutes away, 30 minutes there, 45 minutes back--all highway driving. Immediately upon getting into the car I lit a cigaret and had all windows wide open. Left them open for the trip, and afterwards parked in the driveway. We were there another 4 hours give or take.First thing when we got into the car--she swore at me. "You've been smoking in MY CAR."

Ended up buying her a new one soon after that and drove the Intrepid myself until selling it after 200k.

'preciate knowing that--I was thinking of hooking it up with the Cisco LR, but at 5V will have to rethink that.

Did you check your back seat? Whenever someone smokes in the front seat, some ash always flies in the back seat if you are flicking ashes out the window. My best friends husband does the hiding he smokes thing off and on. He tells her he has quit, but he doesn't really. He knows I know he still smokes during those times. When I visit them, he gets off work before her, and he will smoke outside the house, and then run upstairs to take a shower and brush his teeth. If we go somewhere in his suv, she will say it smells like smoke in his car. She will then ask me if I smell smoke. I say I smell cologne and leather. I'm not going to get in the middle of their war, and it's obvious he has smoked in the car. He will spray cologne all in it, but you can tell it's been smoked in, and there is always some ash particles on the back seat (i don't tell his wife that). I tell her he was a smoker when she dated him and when she married him, so it's not like it's some bad habit he just took up, and her constant nagging of him to quit and making him feel bad about himself doesn't help anything. He will quit when he is ready. She will ask me sometimes if he smoked when she went to do something or before she got home from work, and i tell her to ask him that. She has eased up on him lately since he is having some depression problems. I saw them a couple weeks ago, and he was openly smoking then, but not heavy smoking. He has tried the electronic cigs a friends of his has, but he said it didn't do much for him. I told him he should give it another try. Everytime he quits smoking he chews those nicotine mints. Although I don't think he has ever really given up the cigs during the mint taking time.

You're doing well to stay out of it! I never hid--have been a smoker for as long as anybody knows and really don't think it's possible to hide it anyway. I am good at not landing ash in the back seat though. Actually hate the stale smell in the car anyway so always kept windows open--it could be storming outside. I either had vent windows or those window air foils to work with, and you learn how to flip 'em without the ash coming back in the car. Always kept a can/bottle for butts, too--really hate seeing people toss them outside.

I don't want you to feel humiliated to talk about your secret smokeman days. Feel liberated in the fact you can be honest about that now. bigjim the secret smokeman ---> bigjim now ---> :fro: (since you are bigjim, i gave you big hair).

Guys like Rover, Evilgrin, trogg, et al can point you in the right direction for those.

Myself, I smoked a pack and a half a day of full flavor cigs (Marlboro), and the 808's have been working perfectly for me for almost 4 months now, and I have no desire to move up to a bigger/stronger unit.

Your mileage may vary.

The thing you gotta do is find a juice in a flavor and strength you like, and from there its a piece of cake.

Thanks BigJim/Wingnut.Going to put in an order today. Could I get the V4L code please?

What strength should I be looking at? Currently smoke Export A Golds (light) and the pack says "Nicotine 1.0-2.4mg".

Well, V4L has a good 35% sale through the 24th, but unfortunately it is only on bargain bin items. You need one that works on a starter kit, which they had most of last week. I hate to discourage you from buying today... I think 'Smilin' is a constant 10% off. You might try going here and PM dohsma (Mark) at V4L... tell him you heard of V4L at the Footballguys forum and see if he can hook you up with a FBG coupon code you can use on a starter kit. He actually stopped by here a month ago (pages 12-13) after hearing of this thread and gave a month long "FBG" code for 15%. Athletic Supporter posted yesterday that they are moving next week so I'm not sure if that might impact sales/frequency over that time. The timing stinks... they had 25-40% off sales much of last week.On nic, I was a 1/2 PAD Camel Lights guy and 18 mg were good for me, and I think a decent starting point for that smoking level. As mentioned I'd get 1 pack of 24 mg just in case you want to have something with ooomph. I recommend choco banana premium/cool carts, coffee shop sampler (either Wow or cool carts).

Timing sucks X2! Yeah, if at all possible that you could hold off a little bit, it could mean the difference of $10 - $20 less. If they don't offer something between Monday & Thursday I would expect some sort of "Grand Opening" type deal a week from Monday, after they've moved into their new digs.If you can't wait that long, like BigJim said, you can get a 10% discount by using 'smilin' anytime.

Welcome to the club! You won't be sorry.

Vaping Day 1 complete. Have an eGo-T type B. I have no idea what it means, but it worked and no analogs today. It feels good not smelling like a crusty sweatsock all day.
