Evans Owners - Week 15 (1 Viewer)

Against Cleveland, this is what I am expecting from him:6 catches, 123 yards, 1TD
I think you might be disappointed the way his year has been if thats actually what your expecting, hes only has 2 games in a row that were good and only 3 games all year total that were good. No clue what your other options are though.I will say evans is a better start than alot of other players mentioned in this thread, I just cant start him over a consistent marshall or welker.

I am planning on starting Fitz, Jennings and Evans - On my bench is Holt, Branch, CHenry and BJohnson

Would you play Evans over Holt? I am thinking even if Bulger starts It could be for one play until he's back on the bench from his head hitting the turf.
Considering the bad weather forcasted in Cleveland on Sunday, most importantly the wind element - Would you now bench Evans for THolt, who is playing in doors?also on a side note: Would you go with Stecker over Young this week?

1pt for 10 yards rushing

1pt for 15 yards receiving

6pt for TD

1pt for every reception starting with the 3rd catch

I'm trying to make the final decision as well. I have Branch and Holmes waiting in the wings, but I'm going against a Brady owner and need to go all out to beat him. I'm starting Edwards and Welker...and just not sure if I want to pull the trigger with Evans. If weather wasn't such a factor this week...the decision would be much easier.

Good luck everyone...

I'll say the same thing I say every week: Lee Evans is too talented to see my bench. For a more substantial answer... Evans is currently ranked 27th in FBGs scoring, making him a solid WR3 at worst. He ranks 13th in fantasy points since week 4, and 9th since week 7. Is he boom or bust? Sure... but he's NINTH over the last 8 weeks. NINTH. How can you bench that?
SSOG,I agree that Evans is too talented to bench. But its deadly wrong to consider the mean value (ppg) without considering the standard deviation. And I am pretty sure that Evans variance is top 10 too!! :goodposting: .
I didn't disregard the standard deviation. I allowed for the fact that Lee Evans was boom or bust. With that said, I think that that doesn't matter as much as people think. I mean, compare Evans to a guy who's a mortal lock to get you 7 points. Evans might only get you 2 or 3 at his worst, but will that 4-5 point difference really have a dramatic impact? On the other hand, will a 20-point game from Evans have a dramatic impact? If given the choice between starting a WR that scored 2 points every week, and another WR that had a 10% chance to score 20 points and a 90% chance to score 0 points, I wouldn't hesitate before starting the second. Why? Because 2 points doesn't make much difference, but 20 points sure does.I'm not saying that everyone should blindly start Evans regardless of anything else, I'm just pointing out that Evans is in the top 10 in points per game over the last 8 weeks, and the fact that he's probably in the top 10 in variance as well doesn't mean as much as people like to think.
SSOG - are you trying to convince your opponent to start Evans? The last 3 weeks he has 2, 4, and 2 catches. I think you have to consider the fact that he could be blanked and if the rest of your team is strong enough to win the 5 "safe" points might be the play.
My opponent might find it difficult to start Evans, given the fact that he's currently in MY starting lineup.

The weather in CLE is ridiculously bad. Steve Tasker just reported live for CBS from the field. High winds and heavy snow. Hard to see how Evans can get too involved in that, even with CLE's poor pass defense.
