Yeah clearly a dummyMaybe they thought it would explode for some added shrapnel. Probably not the brightest people.
I'm working under the theory that a Super Hero found the bomb in a more dangerous place, needed to get to another emergency quickly, and put the bomb in the nearest and safest place he could before speeding off to the next crisis.El Floppo said:We dont really have alleys, despite what movies might try to tell you.
But I thought the same thing about the dumpster... seems like what you pit a bomb into to try to minimize or contain damage, not maximize it.
I prefer Diego's Magic Spooge from the turtle threadGood choice for Willie's band name.
Depends on whether the guy with the knife is named Muhammad or Bubba.HellToupee said:Pro tip : if a guy brandishing a knife asks you if you are muslim the answer should be YES
Yep. Correct response is a throat punch. Works for both Muhammads and Bubbas.Depends on whether the guy with the knife is named Muhammad or Bubba.HellToupee said:Pro tip : if a guy brandishing a knife asks you if you are muslim the answer should be YES
Adele, Fallon and Hamilton this week. Might throw a Mets game in to actually depress things.Book of Mormon was excellent. Live your life FBGs!
It's not my own personal commute I was commenting on. It's the hundreds of thousands of people packed into close quarters when dudes are trying to plant bombs all over the place. Couple with the UN and president in town, and it seems like our security is going to be spread somewhat thin. Some bums are burning trash to stay warm too. You worried about that impacting your commute?
Just found out about it. It's on my train line and I'm on one of the delayed train as we speak.Backpack full of bombs now found in a trash can in Elizabeth, NJ. Wtf is going on here?
CNN mentions side it wasn't in a highly populated area, it looks like someone was just discarding it. Presumably the Chelsea bomber after making a getaway? And they say two dudes called the police after they saw a suspicious looking backpack in the trash. Who the heck is looking this carefully at trash cans? GB them but I sure hope the city doesn't ever have to count on me for something like that. No way would I ever have caught it.
And again, WTF is going on here? Monday morning commute should be interesting. (Especially with the UN and Obama in town or coming to town).
May be time to move the UN to Putnam county or something. Let's put it somewhere that needs the tourism dollars. Hell put it next to Monticello raceway, win winIt's not my own personal commute I was commenting on. Cue Furher Trump masturbating to highlights of bombs going off in NYC.Cue Hilary and Obama saying we shouldn't jump to conclusions.
They send them out for amber alerts too.Spooky to be on the Long Island Railroad train into Manhattan after this weekend and hear an entire train full of iPhone emergency alerts all go off at once with this:

Never seen this before. I've only seen weather alerts in the past. Stay safe out there people...
I don't understand why anyone would criticize them for saying that. Isn't this ALWAYS the responsible thing for a leader to say until we know what's going on?Cue Hilary and Obama saying we shouldn't jump to conclusions.
Fear. Disgusting, reprehensible, misguided, selfish, putrid fear. What a disgusting thing to say. What a horrendous, self-serving way to look at a terrible situation.I don't understand why anyone would criticize them for saying that. No truer words around here.I don't understand why anyone would criticize them for saying that. Isn't this ALWAYS the responsible thing for a leader to say until we know what's going on?

This happened after I was narrowly missed by a speeding out of control car on the way to the train station. It feels like the Reaper is out to get me.
Oh damn!Crazy... Walked right down 6th ave from Penn to 23rd... into a bar at 6:30 23rd and 3rd then into a show and never heard anything till in bed at 1am....
Putting aside the utter inanity of your comments, what do they have to do with the bombs that are the subject of this thread? No truer words around here.
Tim and the HRC Army fail to recognize or realize every time they demonize an ever growing number of Trump supporters that they are in fact attracting more people to that movement.
I saw an HRC ad on TV, says Trump is DANGEROUS...that ad might as well be a vote for Trump ad, she doesn't get it. She blew it when she stopped talking about everything she is/will do FOR the country. She has stopped down to his level and it hasn't served her well. I know she has been sick but a week off the TVs and she seems to have disappeared as well as her cushy lead in several states.
You're the one defending HRC and Obama, don't play innocent. You are the one who posted "I don't understand why"...well i told you why so don't try and spin that into something else.Putting aside the utter inanity of your comments, what do they have to do with the bombs that are the subject of this thread?

Most of them aren't very smart. How can they be when they've been brainwashed in such a fashion?Well I for one am glad this seems to be the worlds dumbest terrorist.
Yes I defended their comments about not rushing to judgment, but that wasn't in the context of the political campaign. You're the one defending HRC and Obama, don't play innocent. I scolded folks for making it political last night but you tune into Morning Joe or most of the morning news shows and politics creep right in.
I'm traveling to New York in the next 2 weeks, would love for this to not be happening right now but we also have no plans of canceling our trip. I thought I read you were going there soon yourself.
This x 1000. Moron. Which I love.Well I for one am glad this seems to be the worlds dumbest terrorist.
Laying down the path to the darkness.Nahhhhh.. He'll be fine.. I was there Saturday Night...
How so? Tims point was on point. Leaders shouldont be in the media speculating when facts are not out yet. They have a suspect, sounds like they've jumped to conclusions.
Hopefully not beyond this sucks and the investigation is ongoing. Is Obama going to speak about this incident?
Haven't they already done so? Maybe we're talking Obama and Hillary here? Because NYPD and DHS already have a suspect and are commenting. How so? Tims point was on point. Leaders shouldont be in the media speculating when facts are not out yet.

As for today and the following days, we are ready. Our staff is prepared to help our community get through this time. If you or your
child needs ANY support, in any way, please do not hesitate to ask. Our guidance counselor, our school
psychologist, and our school social worker, will be available to meet with families or students.
The most important thing that we can do for our students today is to give them a “business as usual” day. We want our students to
enjoy their school day without added stress. Again, we will be watching our students very carefully and if we see any indication that
any of our students may be stressed, we will address it immediately.
I am including the guidelines that we will be following today when speaking with our students. We are very aware that we will have
many students that are unaware of the weekend’s events so we will not be having class discussions. We are also aware that many of
our students live near the explosion site and are very anxious. We are prepared to meet their needs as well. Here is the protocol that we
will be following in the aftermath of any serious event.
We will:
1. Listen to hear what children know. Don’t prompt them or bring up the subject.
2. Avoid introducing news to younger children who are unaware unless it comes up. Particularly for our K-2 kids. Taking
cues from children to determine how much attention to give the topic. If the topic comes up (grades 3-5 only)…acknowledge
it and then move on! Keeping it brief and truthful. “There was an explosion in Chelsea. No one died and the police are
investigating the incident.”
3. Be vigilant to individuals' signs of stress or fear so we can follow up. If ANYONE seems stressed, contact principal or staff IMMEDIATELY.
4. Stick to routines. This is VERY important. Our day will be “business as usual.”
5. Affirm emergency preparedness practices. If this would have happened during the school day, we would have instigated a
LOCK DOWN drill.
“In the coming hours we are going to be able to say a lot more about what happened here,” Mr. de Blasio said Monday during an interview on “Good Morning America.” “It is certainly leaning more in the direction that this was a specific act of terror.”
The law enforcement official said that while there was no direct evidence yet linking Mr. Rahami to the Islamic State or Al Qaeda, much about him remained unknown.
“We don’t know his particular ideology or what his inspiration was or whether he was directed or whether he was inspired,” the official said. “We don’t have any of that.”
“We have a lot to connect him to the Seaside Heights device, to the 27th Street device, to the 23rd Street device,” the official added. “And in all likelihood the Elizabeth train station device — which is a half-mile from his residence. So, the ideology, the connection to international terrorism, we might flesh that out as we go through the results of search warrants, looking for computers, discs, things like this. Search warrants that we did Sunday night at the residence in Elizabeth.”
...
The police were led to Mr. Rahami through surveillance videos from the Chelsea area.
Late on Sunday night, the police stopped a car on the Belt Parkway near the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge in Brooklyn and took in five people who were connected to Mr. Rahami for questioning.
“So far,” the official said, it appears the suspect is acting alone. “But that is a very open question.”
Thankfully I only had to deal with rain while trying to find the school bus for the first time. I'm just glad that this guy seems to be a total dope.btw... as mentioned, my kids' school is a couple blocks from the explosion, so we were a little more aware than normal getting to school today, especially after transportation was understandably affected in the neighborhood since saturday night.
our principal sent this out early this morning:
So they got a suspect in about 12-18 hours from the videos. Good...no great job NYPD/FBI, et al.from the NYT.
