Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1 Viewer)

Really never got this movie. Except for Phoebe Cates, what's so special here? It was Dazed and Confused before dazed and confused.

Not really.

Dazed and Confused was a nostalgic period piece. It was basically a redo of American Graffiti.

Fast Times was a contemporary teen/high school comedy with better than average writing and characters.

:lmao: at the thought of a Lynch directed Fast Times:

David Lynch originally offered the chance to direct before Amy Heckerling was chosen. He turned it down saying it was a funny script, but not really his thing.

Caught the uncut version (albeit with commericals) for the first time in awhile the other night on IFC.

Forgot how vigorously Brad goes to town watching Phoebe on the diving board.

yeah he was furiously going at it. you gotta lock that door Brad! CMON

Hey Brad, when your boss made you wear full uniform for the IBM delivery, I doubt he'd have known if you didn't wear the hat in the car.

This thread inspired me to read up on the movie, and I found out that the original title of the script was "Stairway To Heaven", which was a reference to a subplot where one of the characters was trying to get Led Zeppelin tickets. Obviously that plot point became irrelevant after 1980.

Look at you: member of the honor roll, assistant to the assistant manager of the movie theater. I'm tellin' ya, Rat, if this girl can't smell your qualifications, then who needs her, right?
