FBG loses its Tremendous Upside: RIP friend (1 Viewer)

TU would probably like this song, since he loved music. I doubt he'd like the ad.

It's okay to be sad. That's why there are so many songs about that stuff.

TU's death changed the internet for me, it just will never be the same for me.

Not sure what else to say, I'm heartbroken that he's gone. Could have been some jerk, but it wasn't.

Sucks balls. Hate this.

Don't ever be sorry about that Koya. Ever.
Appreciate it. I just know TU'd want us to move on - remember and smile, and yeah, be sad because it's human. But I also know he'd not be especially comfortable with anyone being held up on it or hurt emotionally. He'd understand it. He'd be sad and doing everything if one of us went down. But he'd not want the fuss.

Fuss happens though I guess.
Did you get a taker on that ticket yet?As for mourning, I respect tu's wishes but also understand our needs. I didnt even. Know the dude beyond posting and apparently we were 20 mikes apart as long as this forum has been in operation and I feel terrible still. I can only imagine how you feel man. Just feel it and when the time is right to smile at the memory and not feel the pain of the moment, you will know it
Not yet. Come on folks - free ticket for isles Rangers!

You still down in NO? If so, have one for TU and another for me

If anyone is nearby, we are having a little happy hour gathering in TUs honor at Privilege located at 53rd and 2nd. Swing on by.

Sounds like some of TUs close friends here can't do may - how does April look, toward second half of the month probably

Was a good catharsis tonight as a bunch of Sean's closest friends gathered for a happy hour in celebration of the best guy any of us will ever know.

Faulted like all of us, and far from perfect. Which only makes how awesome he was at heart that much more real.

Getting a cab from LIRR to home and I admit, at that point wifey has some drinks lined up. We will remember always, but now I need to forget a little. Just for the night.

Love you and miss you big guy.

Memorial Info:

Text me or pm if you don't have my text for more detail.

I'm leaning toward the Sat before to be the pub crawl. Let's make this one hell of a remembrance! Although it a day goes by without me thinking about him

fwiw- the weekend of the 11/12th is the back end of NYC public school's spring break. might not affect anybody... and there's always going to be something in the way of somebody in here- just throwing it out there.

You know it would be kind of cool to get a tattoo on your body to remember him by.

Thanks for mentioning. The 19th would likely be better then for those who are doing something with family the week prior.

still just insane that one of us- particularly one of the better of us- can be taken sooooooo quickly and so young.

sorry you're still hurting, Koya.

Wow. Hadn't checked the FFA regularly in a while, so I'm just seeing this now. So freakin' sad, man. He's the only FBG I ever met in person. I had a trip to NYC lined up, and by chance, I happened to check the My Morning Jacket thread a few days before the flight, and TU didn't hesitate in arranging for us to check out the show and grab a few beers. Can't say enough nice things about him, and we had a blast that night. RIP

Yup, that was for Z night, and with no exaggeration, I can say that it wouldn't have been half as cool without him. Dude had great musical taste. Sniped me a bunch on FFA music drafts, and brought good stuff to my attention.

This ones going to last a while. Still hard to believe its forever.
So sorry, Koya. I never met him but clearly reading those who had, he was a great guy. I'm so sorry. Sucks hard. Hang in there.

Hey Joe

He was at the Chicago Pizza meetup we had awhile back when you were in town for the FSTA. He went to the Hancock building with you and I after we left the pub we were at for a bit after dinner. There was a big group out that night though. He just happened to be in Chicago on a vacation when that all went down.

Been "away" for a spell and forgot about the 4/19 affair. Did that not go down??

I wasn't able to make it up there.. a family health crisis had me out of town for a couple weeks. How was the memorial, Koya?

Hey guys - sorry for the MIA... the event did not take place. It's been a brutal start to the year losing Sean. Add to that 60-70 hour work weeks (make or break time for the business, and make would be huge, break would be ... well the suck) and some personal health issues - nothing serious - and it's just not come together.

We've talked about some options though with our local crew and let me try to get back on it.

Not many days (not sure if there have been any) where Sean does not come to mind. Usually with a smile, but its still so soon that it's impossible not to slide into sadness. Now it's the Rangers, the Yanks, the Mets (he and I went to a number of games, and I don't think he ever made it to the new yankee stadium, at least not as of last summer) and then football.

Yeah, I'm the same way. Sean's Chelsea is in first, and will likely tie up the win this weekend, in Premier League too.

Well, he was still a good guy

I don't come around much anymore and somehow missed hearing the news of Sean's death. RIP Sean ;( Koya, sorry i wasnt around for condolences and support and sorry you lost your friend. Sean was a huge part of my favorite times on tbis board. Funny, smart and cool. Not many people pull that off from behind a keyboard but Sean did.

Sorry, I had left for a time and never knew Sean had passed away...I just feel terrible.

It somehow surfaced in another thread which brought me here.

I just wanted to pay respect to a great poster.

I disliked him at first, and he had no patience for MY ways, but then the music drafts happened and we were A.O.K.  It's sad he's gone.

It's sad and weird that this place has lost many others with seemingly no explanation lately.

I rode in a car with he and @JZilla (also a music :nerd: ) for 4+ hours with them talking about music.  TU was like an encyclopedia on several topics but baseball and music were in his wheelhouse, I'd put him up against anyone in either.

Still chokes me up when I get a Facebook notification for his birthday. :(
I have 3-4 FB friends that are gone that hit me the same way. One is a college friend who I hadn't seen in years whose birthday would have been last week. Reconnected with me out of the blue four years ago, then died three months later. I never knew until after the fact he was battling alcoholism and reaching out.

Never met Sean. T&P to all of his friends here.
