FDuel Week 11 (1 Viewer)

I'm finding it hard keeping Keenan Allen and one of the SD RB's out of all of my lineups. Dont usually like the west coast teams playing the early game out east though. Feels like this will be a huge hit or gigantic miss...

Off the bye, I like their chances. Problem is I have a hard time choosing between Allen, Matthews, Woodhead, and Gates. They all seem like nice plays.

Man, there were some $109 50/50s yesterday that had NO ONE in them with more than even 50 wins... but filled up before I could jump in. Now, they've got guys with 100s and even 1000s of wins.

These are names I'm using in a lot of my games.

Code:
QB Tony Romo $8,900 QB Philip Rivers $7,700 QB Terrelle Pryor $7,300 RB Demarco Murray $7,500 RB Ray Rice $7,300 RB Darren McFadden $7,100 RB Eddie Lacy $6,800 RB Ryan Mathews $6,500 WR Dez Bryant $9,100 WR Jordy Nelson $7,800 WR Josh Gordon $7,200 WR T.Y. Hilton $6,000 WR Keenan Allen $6,000 WR Denarius Moore $4,900 TE Antonio Gates $6,000 TE Jordan Reed $5,600 K Greg Zuerlein $5,000 K Nick Novak $5,000 DST Seahawks DST $6,300 DST Saints DST $5,500 DST Raiders DST $5,200

Not a bad list of guys. The problem with it is, everyone loves this same list of guys lol.

I feel like depending on the format you play, u need to really roll the dice on some of the lesser name guys. Obviously with monster names mixed in. There are a decent amt of < 5k WR's this week that look intriguing IMO. But the guys u have here in say a 50/50, you'll win in the majority of them.

yeah for 50/50 most players will have the same guys going. For tournament you pretty much have to go out on a limb and take a chance on 2-3 guys that you think will be lesser owned but will also have a big game.

Some guys that come to mind

Geno Smith - no one is going to start him but he could still put up some good fantasy numbers

Nick Foles - Coming off a miserable game and people got burned by him last time out.

Alfred Morris - After Helu scooped up 3 TDs the other game people are shying away from Morris, but he has a very nice matchup against the Chargers.

DeAngelo Williams - dirt cheap at 5,600 and everyone is going all in on Newton. Play the fade and hope the Panthers run the ball all game against Atlanta.

Andre Johnson - Elite WR but without the QB play, usually not very heavily owned.

Kendall Wright - Great value play at 5,500

DHB - Only 4500, Fade all the people riding the Hilton train

V.Brown - also only 4500 and you could fade the popular picks in SD (Allen, Gates, Mathews, Woodhead)

Fleener - Nice value that can find the endzone and is often overlooked next to bigger name TEs.

Yeah that's what I'm worried about, everybody having the same list. Maybe this will be the week I go against the grain with everybody and hope to hit.

I'll throw out some options for variety:

QBs - Cam, RG3, ASmith, McCown

RBs - Forte, Murray, Bell, Mathews, Woodhead, Bernard (super cheap), Greene if you're risky

WRs - SS, Dobson, Streater, Jeffrey, TWilliams

TE - Bennet (but same price as Reed, so...) Olsen (chepaer than both), Clay

D - Browns vs. Balt, Colts @ houston, Titans @StL, Dallas v. Minn, Oakland v. Philly

Hey, first post, just joined because of a new project I've been putting together for FD. I have made a spreadsheet calculator using fantasypros composite projections and rankings, then some fancy (as fancy as I can get) calculations and solver to make lineups.

Here's some of the top plays the calculations came up with:

QB- Pryor, Rivers, RGIII, Newton

RB- Woodhead, Charles, Lacy, Lynch

WR- Moore, Garcon, Allen, Nelson

TE- Reed, Gates, Olsen

Take these all with whatever grain of salt you would like. I built it to use matchups, projections, rankings, consistency scales as well as human input (I like to do all my 'gut feeling' choices after watching highlights and spending an hour or so on football reference looking at trends before running any numbers just to keep my opinions subjective and not based on what the math is saying). So basically, some of these guys make the cut because I bump them personally.

Really hoping to get some input and feedback about how to boil down to one number, basically I get all of these different aspects down to a 1-10 scale and I am happy with how those happen. However, finding that combining these scales to weigh each input appropriately is more of an art than a science. So any opinions would be welcome. Enjoy the picks.

That's pretty cool, thanks. I actually like getting a list of more than just 1 starting lineup, because it gives more options to consider for diversification. Having tiers on a 1-10 scale is even better, because it lets you know where the cutoffs are - e.g., "the computer really likes these 4 options better than the 5th"

I don't think I have seen any mention of Bilal Powell for week 9. It's very possible NYJ will be playing from behind this game, and Powell is the passing down back, so could be in line for some receiving yards + however many carries he ends up getting in that split backfield....priced at $4,600

RBs - Murray
Any news on his status for this week? I like the matchup this week at his price point but there are enough other options at RB this week that I don't want to roll the dice on Murray if he's not going to be near 100%.
Originally I was thinking he was a risky option for Thursday games, but decent for Sunday. Looks like he's not even that big a risk for Thursday.

DeMarco Murray (sprained MCL) said resting last week was the right call.
Both Murray and the Cowboys front office thought Murray was going to play at Detroit, but coach Jason Garrett made the late decision to hold him out. "It was best for this team and for myself," Murray said. Now he's practicing in full and not wearing a brace. We'd expect a full workload against the Vikings Sunday. Oct 31 - 8:05 AM

What would help is any possible inside information on game plans. I imagine some wish they had known the Rams defense was going to sell out and stop the run (lynch) and not respect the SEA passing game. Or that Gonzo was going to be blanketed by two defenders to take him out of the game forcing someone else to step up (the last two weeks).

Before last week, STL gave up the most pts to RBs... ARI gave up the most pts to TEs. In projections that bodes great for Lynch and Gonzalez and the FBG projections reflected it. That stat is irrelevent if the game plan is to shut down an opposing player. STL was beaten up by CAR the previous week and was fired up to not be embarrassed by SEA on prime time MNF. Lynch gets 3 points and Gonzo gets 3 or 4.

This week might seem like a good time to play Golden Tate (with S. Rice out), but what if TB (Revis) didn't care much for Tate's antics showing up defensive backs on MNF and decide to ensure he receives zero targets?

Of course you can't anticipate what a defense is thinking going into a game, but if I over heard that MIN was going to triple team Dez to see if he blows up on Romo during the game, I'd look elsewhere even though Dez looks like a great matchup. Just thinking out loud.

I'm thinking Golden Tate is a steal this week with Sidney Rice out, and Percy Harvin not guaranteed to start.
Tate might get sent to Revis Island
Revis island doesn't really exist this year. TB is playing a lot zone coverage instead of allowing revis to shadow a WR all over the field. It certainly could happen but it would take a change in defensive philology from what we have seen from TB so far this year.

Thanks for the link, but even the article says it's not guaranteed to happen... I hope it does as I'm playing against Tate this week.

I really really like Nate Washington this week. He is in several of my lineups. He has done fairly well with Locker in, and he is dirt cheap.

That might be expensive for Powell lol. He's been that bad.

Very reliable WR for Jake.

FTR, if Justin Hunter ever gets a start, consider him for tourney lineups. IMO he has all the tools for an absolutely huge game for his price.

BTW, any idea why they dont offer guys in the 3k and under price range? I think it would give owners even more flexibility. Bilal Powell as noted above, if he's worth 3k vs 4600, he might have some appeal. 90% of those 4500 guys are never used cause that price is actually high for a ton of those guys...just some food for thought

He shut down Steve Smith last Thursday. Schiano was talking this week about letting him play man against the opposing #1 receiver, which would be Tate now.

I forgot about that so I stand corrected... it appears TB is moving toward Revis island (and I hope Tate gets stranded there this week).

QB Jake Locker $6,700 TEN@STL ✗
RB Adrian Peterson $9,400 MIN@DAL ✗
RB Jamaal Charles $9,200 KC@BUF ✗
WR Dez Bryant $9,100 MIN@DAL ✗
WR Darrius Heyward-Bey $4,500 IND@HOU ✗
WR Kendall Wright $5,500 TEN@STL ✗
TE Jordan Reed $5,600 SD@WAS ✗
K Nick Novak $5,000 SD@WAS ✗
D Cleveland Browns $5,000 BAL@CLE ✗

Rolling with this in a handful of 5x leagues.

Pretty heavy on the fade this week, but do have AJG, Bernard, and Bengals D sprinkled in. Hoping the Dolphins o-line gets dominated.

I joined 2 $2.00 head to head matches, one against Mmbomb and one against Condia. The 3 players they both have in common are Lacy, Jordy, and Moore. Good luck to everyone this week.

Not much Hilton love this week.

Wow everyone loaded up on Thur players. Faded everything tonite.

Houston allows the least amount of fantasy points to Wr's...there may be cheaper options than Hilton. I still like him though for some reason, maybe more so in tounramenra

Thanks for the tip. Moore huh, interesting.

DHB now showing up on the injury report as Q. I'll have Fleener on a good number of my teams.
Game-status designations (probable, questionable, doubtful) don't come out until after Friday's practice. DHB is currently listed on the injury report as "Limited Participation in Practice."

I have him in a few Thursday night lineups, so I hope he doesn't scratch.

Condia has all three of those players in every lineup I've seen him field tonight.

Problem is they are also heavily featured in my lineups.

He also is featuring at least one player from tonight's game in each lineup, so his lineups going forward have to change somewhat.

Like I said a few days ago, I wouldn't be surprised if he got drilled last week with the lineups I was seeing him put out there.

You're right. I forget some of these fantasy sites are leaving up last week's designations until the new one's come out. That's been rather annoying to me. But, he did get added to the report.

I'm in one h2h against Condia and this is his lineup (bolded players are also on my squad).

C. Newton
E. Lacy, R. Rice
D. Moore, J. Nelson D. Bryant
C. Clay
S. Gostkowski
T. Titans
