FFA In Death Spiral? (1 Viewer)

yesterday i noted that there were 45 users browsing and now after i started my swc neat stuff thread i noted 49 users browsing so i like to think that i am doing my part to bring some new users who must be neat guys to the forum take that to the bank bromigos 

 
Or even worse -- "No way any of this is real..."

Who cares if it's real if it's funny?! If someone's a good creative writer and spins yarns about getting drunk and banging hookers in Vegas, just enjoy the ride. "You only paid $XX for that much cocaine? I call bs." #### off.

When I joined about 10 years ago I thought the motto "be excellent to each other" was a bit cheesy. Now that it's not enforced anymore, I can see how wrong I was. 

Like others, I come here to escape the stresses of daily life. That doesn't work when everything you read is an insult or attack on someone you disagree with. There's no chance some of the posters here talk to other people in real life the way they communicate with other posters on this anonymous message board. Unfortunately, I don't have the ability to switch back and forth, leaving me unable to participate in most discussions.

Well PII you seem to be the only one unable to separate the two, or to detect sarcasm, or to tell when someone is obviously making up stuff to be funny. Shocking you're a Trump guy.

 
Based on the crickets from our fearless leaders, it seems safe to say that they don't really care about their members or the FFA.  Most of the complaints revolve around the same issues, board upgrade, no images, and too many political threads.  I would think that each of these would be a pretty easy fix but alas we get nada from our feedback.  They'll change their tune when the DFS gravy train comes to a screeching halt, but will there be anyone left?

Look, I love me some tales of debauchery.  But when a guy goes from telling stories about a debased marriage he's in, and then 5 minutes later gets up on his soapbox talking about how Donald Trump's comments are so vile that he is having nightmares, well - let's just say you look a little - ridiculous.  :lmao:

He's one of the most entertaining posters here. Also, his points are solid, as are Roadkills points about those here that blame others for things which they themselves are guilty. 

I started coming to this site before there was a message board. The snark and argumentativeness has always been here, but it was better balanced by entertaining posters who knew how to handle themselves with a little class. Some of the better such posters seem to have moved on, and left a dearth of class, entertainment and civility in their absence. Now we have a lot of argumentative people who suffer from myopia and an inability to handle the opinions of others with anything other than unnecessary vitriol and, frankly, dooshbaggery.

I want more boobs, more dating stories, more one-off bizarre threads asking hilariously inane questions, science stuff and interesting political debates where each side isn't just throwing out rotflmao emoticons and trying to make the other side a bunch of stupid, evil villains. And more Zooks. That dude has to come back, because he could save us all. Maybe naked golden girls pics would do it, I don't know, but efforts must be made.

Most certainly am.  The moral superiority, insulting and patronizing tone of guys like McGarnicle is the cause of most of the recent bad blood in here.  They fail to recognize it.  Fail to own it.

Meh, I just hate the 2 party system and I am glad he is jacking up at least one of them. He's just a cheap whore I'm using. I actually prefer whoever can make me the most $ in the stock market.

Never paid too much attention to it since I'm a member of NPA but this BS about some elite hammerheads making the real decision if no one gets to a certain number of delegates is just another reason I hate them both. The people will not be deciding the nominee for the R's and maybe not the nominee for the D's.

I'm not sure what's going on in here and I'm not going to scroll through the entire thread... but here's what's wrong with the FFA and the people of the internet in general:

The anonymity of it all attracts a-wholes... and normal people don't really like interacting with a-wholes. So you get a disporportionate amount of a-wholes and they suck all of the fun out of it. The internet is currently in the era of 'snark.' There were always a-wholes, but internet snark has become an art form. It's truly impressive how skilled some of the people of the internet have become at this skill. And so normal people, who used to come to the FFA for some some laughs and good natured debate have decided to stop participating. The only way to solve this is to eliminate internet anonymity.

tldr: if you're still here you're most likely an a-whole.

 
hey rudnarski how about you just lend me the ban stick for about an hour i will clean this thing up old west sherrif style and by that i mean i  will put a big hat on and then take out the trash take that to the bank bromigos

I suppose I could start playing things straight down the middle and brag about my fidelity to my wife, and the flowers I like to surprise her with after a stressful day at work, but most here probably prefer the kind of stuff above. So as an alternative, just put me on ignore.
