Here are a couple of Christmas horror movies that make movies like Krampus look terrible. No surprise I guess that both are foreign. To make it nice and confusing, they both have the same name!
A Christmas Tale - Amazon Rental/Shudder - Five Spanish kids find a woman in a well who is dressed as Santa Claus. This one has a big 80s vibe similar to The Goonies or Stranger Things and also mixes up a little bit of Home Alone as well. The result is a fun movie that has good references to the 80s including an awesome scene in tribute to the greatest 80s movie of all, The Karate Kid.
Rare Exports - A Christmas Tale - Amazon Rental/Shudder - An expedition crew in Finland excavate Santa Claus and his helpers, only this Santa Claus is the nightmarish one from Norse mythology. A very cool movie that's a great take on the ####ed up version of Santa Claus from Norse fairytales. The climax is epic as #### and the ending equally satisfying as it is hilarious. Santa's helpers are these creepy, skinny, naked mall santa lookalikes and give the movie the right mix of camp and seriousness. This one is a must watch. Well worth the rental cost.
