FFA Wagering Thread: THERE HE IS!@! (12 Viewers)

Interesting note this morning from Peter King on NFL training camps

I think the defense is ahead of the offense in the camps I've seen. In some cases, far ahead. The Eagle D was devouring the offense in the Friday morning practice, two days after the Jets offense (minus a few first-teamers) could get very little done against the defense. From what I hear, that's common around the league. It's easier to throw your body around on defense than it is to do something a little more in-sync, like have 11 people moving in the right direction on a pass play that might be complicated for players who haven't studied it very thoroughly yet.
Looking at teasers for week 1x I think in addition to the standard 6pt 3 teamers it might be smart to play some of the more exotic teasers 3 team 10 pointers and some sites even offer 13 pointers. All dogs. The 13 point teasers work well on games lined at 1/1.5 and 4/4.5Getting 13pts in games with totals at 35ish is nuts, example cincy +17.5 when the game total is 35.5ETA: I also might play these now instead of waiting til wednesday. I think most of the dogs are going to get bet with the short training camp.
I would really like to tail you but am wondering what 3 teams you are including in your parlay. Mind sharing where you are leaning?
I haven't bet anything yet, I'll post when I bet.

Betonline offers a 21 pt super teaser

Appears they've turned off all teasers for NFLx hope other sites don't follow this.

You guys might wanna fade the Arizona Cardinals in the preseason. Sirius NFL Radio was at their camp today and they had a long conversation with Kevin Kolb. His head is SPINNING trying to learn Wiz's offense, and he readily admitted it. The short camp means he has to cram a lot of new plays into a very tight schedule. The offense he's in now is nothing like the offense he ran under Andy Reid.

Probably a good idea to fade any QB learning a new system this summer, for that matter.
Mort was on the radio this morning and said that usually the first few weeks of the regular season we see some pretty ugly football. I've never noticed it but I'm usually so excited for football that I could care less. He then went on to say that he talked to the hoodie and NE has 9 plays they're currently comfortable running in their offense. 9 plays.
The average NFL game had about 43.5 points last year. Week 1 average was 36.5 points, week 2 41.4 points. Week 3 was right at the average at 43.4 points. So there's certainly some truth to that statement or at least was last year. Obviously the books adjust for this in their totals and will especially this year. I wonder what the average week 1 total is right now?

I'd definitely roll with some 5-teamers though. How can you possibly lose a 5-team, 21-point NFL teaser?

hmm, i think a bit of the opposite. i look at that report and think Kolb will be seeing more time than other starting QB's to get himself ready for the season. i think we'll see a lot of Kolb to Fitzgerald passes

Young and Kafka vs. "Quarterback Joe Flacco will play roughly the first quarter, followed by rookie Tyrod Taylor for two quarters and Hunter Cantwell in the fourth quarter. Middle linebacker Ray Lewis, free safety Ed Reed, defensive tackle Haloti Ngata and outside linebacker Terrell Suggs will only play roughly a series.". Also think the 1st string D may play a little longer to get things down. Add to that the homer factor, and i had to take the Birds

thought of good old lumpy when I put a few of these in. gl mang.

Pedro Alvarez (pit) YES K -200

Alvarez strikes out at the second highest rate in the majors behind only Adam Dunn, while Greinke leads all starters in Ks/9 innings.

Preseason action tonight. Little $5 parlay to keep it interesting:

Saints -3 (EVEN)

Steelers +2

Falcons -2½ (-105)

Lions -4 (-105)

Chiefs +3 (-125)

GL everybody.

BTW, Bodog has props up for:

- Will an NFL Player test positive for HGH during the 2011 NFL Season (Including Playoffs)?

- What will be the position of the first player to test positive for HGH during the 2011 NFL Season (Including Palyoffs)?

That made me LOL.

So the 1st reception under, no receptions wins the bet. The starters are not playing much so I would think the UNDER is a smart bet on all 1st receptions. But .... how are they determining if the player actually played. What if he plays 1 series, and isn't in the box score?

It's quite likely that a player that doesn't make it into the box score will be no-actioned. But a player that plays a couple series and gets into the box scores with a target like Gonzo will be a W.

Scoring may be down considerably with all the touchbacks this year.

Janikowski is blasting kickoffs THROUGH the goal posts and out of the end zone.

and boom goes the dynamite! 2 for 2, could be a clean sweep tonight....

Wooo underdogs ... most plays we've had on one card in a while:

1u Pitt +130

1u Wash +109

1u LAD +153

1u Balt +120

YTD 64-65 +5.61

Interesting prop I've never seen before

Will at least 2 players hit OVER 1½ Home Runs each?

Assume a full slate of MLB games. Anyone want to guess the line?

Every game is generally lined at 1.5 hr's hit for the game, some possibly at 2. With 15 games on the schedule I would say the line is No -225/Yes +175. I think true value is No -400.
