14 man lineups (C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, OFx3, 6 P). No DL or bench slots.

12 add/drops per season.

We're doing a big-ish bench, right? Are there games played minimums per week or year?

The idea was to minimize in-season maintenance. If you're hanging out on a fantasy baseball board, you're probably in too many leagues already and SportsCenter isn't going to show Will Middlebrooks striking out and hitting into a DP.

We can still increase transactions if there's unanimous agreement.

Seems like it would be advantageous to start guys that don't play in the format. Hope you get a couple of crappy SP outings and wa la.

2.5 Chris Johnson, 3B, Braves

Gotta love a singles hitter who strikes out all the time.
There are bad Chris Johnsons in MLB, NFL and NBA. It would be a solid 1.01 pick in Ubergobbler
An NBA version of this would be interesting.
Yeah. It would be possible to have a very simplified version just with +/- numbers. Missed shots and TOs are obvious categories but the lack of a negative rebounding metric is an issue.

It's possible that could be the shark move at some shallow positions like 1B But generally, I think the scoring weights IPs and ABs enough that you need (bad) playing time in quantity to score points.

I haven't made a pick in four days. I'm making a pick today whether you guys like it or not. Up to the three guys in front of me as to whether or not it is in the correct draft order.

It's not an advantage. Players who average positive points are better than players who average zero, even if they occasionally hit a couple HRs and go into negatives for the week.

I think it's not a huge disadvantage to leave a blank in your lineup though, which helps with minimal maintenance. If you have a guy do a 15-day DL stint or some awful #5 starter gets skipped in the rotation, you don't have to blow a transaction.

There's more than two months until opening day and this is a 14 round draft.

I'll be nice and relaxed when I submit this draft pick by COB.

2.10 - Alexi Amarista (2B, SS, 3B, OF)

This guy has a lot going for him. Seen here with a typical post at-bat reaction, Amarista brings eligibility at four different positions to the table. I believe our friends at Baseball Prospectus put it best when they said: "Amarista's ability to play anywhere helps-- he admirably plugged the Padres' shortstop sinkhole last year-- but reaching first base less often than an actual padre limits his value." Or, in my case, makes him a Gobbler superhero. GB you, Alexi, and cheers to the fabulously awful summer we're going to share together.
