Breaking news on CNN. Zimmerman raised over $200,000 on his website.
Was Zimmerman required to disclose his complete financial situation during the bond hearing? Did he simply have to say the family could not afford the requested $1 million bond the prosecution wanted? Which is still true. I don't see how the court doesn't realize Zimmerman could have made some donations from his website that was well known. It was even posted here in this thread.
He wasn't allowed to say he was indigent when he had $204,000.
Just saw the video here: http://www.cnn.com/2012/04/27/justice/florida-zimmerman-money/index.html?hpt=hp_t3 3rd one down about Z's finances under a microscope. 1:43 mark. I don't think this goes toward the credibility of Zimmerman, but his lawyer is trying to back track. He mentions in the hearing that he is not aware of the specifics about a fund being out there not being administered by him and not knowing what the amount is. Now he is shocked to find out there is one? I can not see where Zimmerman would flat out lie about this to his lawyer. More likely his lawyer asked him about it, but did not want to hear specifics about it until after the hearing.

O'mara was under the impression that Zimmerman had taken donations of 7-800 in one paypal account and 7-8 grand in another. He was expecting to use most of that plus a small note on the parent's place to make bond. As I understand it, the parents did get a loan. Nice son, eh?

CNN reporting that Zimmerman chipped in 5K, his parents took out a loan for the rest. Class act.

O'mara at the hearing says, "I don't know the specifics of some fund that is out there that is not administered by me. I don't know what the amount is." So, if he was "under the impression" that is not true. As far as the parents. Once again, people on this board will bash this guy based on assumptions. We do not know what agreement the family may have where they agreed to take out a loan. The max the payment to get him out of jail was $15K of which Zimmerman paid 5K. They may have taken a loan out for Zimmerman because they can get a better interest rate, they unlike Zimmerman (now that the paypal account has been removed) have steady income and can make the payments, maybe O'Mara told Zimmerman we can not touch the donations for the hearing, so he put it in an account Zimmerman can not touch right now, they realize that the attorney's fees will be a heck of a lot more, or they feel sorry for their son, so they want to help. We don't know.

pro Zimmerman spin? The first part of my statement is that I think Zimmerman's lawyer is lying. But if you want to put me in the pro-zimmerman crowd because I refuse to judge him based on assumptions, then sure, I'm pro-zimmerman.

Well, he spent 49K over and above what he put towards his bond. Saying that maybe his Parents got a better rate is a bit of a stretch. But at least you're showing your face in the thread, that's more than a lot of Zimmerman's ardent supporters are doing.

Part of that 49K was used to pay his former lawyers?

They didn't charge him 49K for a few phone calls and a blow off news conference. More probably room service. Or more guns.

:lmao: And strippers. Don't forget the strippers.
Come on Christo, the guy is married and may have an interest in the secret service. Prostitutes.
I was referring to his former attorneys. It's completely possible that those guys asked for substantial retainers and some of that money will be coming back to Zimmerman.
Hard to tell what :lmao: refers to. And I don't think either of them ever even met with him, so I doubt there was substantial money changing hands.

You have no clue what happened. I know criminal attorneys who won't touch a felony for less that a $25k initial retainer.

I know Sonner and Urhig dumped him the day after he set up the donation site. Hard to imagine money from that site going to those guys since they were out of the picture before the big bucks started rolling in. Maybe they sent him bills. Maybe he had a bunch of other bills to pay off.

I think this is probably the most likely scenario. I believe Sonner said he hadn't received any money from Zimmerman, don't know about Urhig. They would have given it back by now anyways.

:lmao: Remember when the right wing a holes went through Trayvon's twitter account and pulled random statements from friends to say he was a thug that deserved to die? Yeah, suck failure. If you're as old as you say you are, I actually feel sorry for you. Must be hard to live in your angry world.

Trayvon's parents were in Birmingham today at the civil rights museum, and Trayvon was named an official hero of the civil rights movement or something like that.

See, this is why whenever an unarmed black teen is shot police should file charges as quickly as possible.

I love how people boils this down to right vs left. So if he walks will the left be choking on their tongues?

The right and left have been choking on each other's tongues so long that I lost interest in them both years ago.
