Footballguys 2006 Strategy Guide (1 Viewer)

So when are we getting ours?
:goodposting: Maybe before the season starts?
I tend to agree with Defenze. It may only be two dollars and we have the "possibility" of a golden ticket, but there seems to be some misleading during the promotion of this mag and why we should by early. Now, it seems that we paid two dollars extra just to enter a raffle for a golden ticket and get our magazine later.I have the utmost respect for the FBG staff, but there is no denying that this isn't going to sit well with a lot of people.
You're also having it delivered to your door for that extra $2. I really can't fathom why anyone would complain that some stranger has teh magazine a couple of days before them. What's the difference?
Many people feel the need to complain about something, hell anything, in order to feel heard. These are probably the same people that would ##### when they won the lottery because they have to pay the tax. to the FBG staff for an incredible job providing the product(s) and service they do.

The call to expedite via UPS Reno isn't going to help us (not being shipped via UPS), but thanks for the thoughts. The Reno bound truck was already headed to Sacramento (which is even closer to me). It arrives in Sacramento late tonight and is expected to be offloaded around midnight.

The shipping company (based out of Green Bay) has already alerted Sacramento and we are working to expedite the scheduled Friday delivery time. We believe we will have the magazines in our hands by Wednesday night at the latest if everything goes as planned.

If the trucking company can not ship them on Wednesday, my dad and I will rent a Uhaul truck and pallet jack and go get them. Either way we fully expect to have the magazines in our hands late Wednesday.

But magazines in hand does not mean over 3,000 magazines will be shipped by Thursday morning. We have everything ready (all envelopes with address labels and stamps attached, stacks of insert fliers with training camp access code stickers on them, 54 random inserts, 12 golden tickets), but we still need to assemble things.

Even at about 20 seconds per magazine, stuffing 3,000 magazines is going to be a chore (about 20 hours worth). Then we have to drive these to the post office and mail them. I optimistically believe 90-95% of the orders received by last night will go out on Friday though. Another thing that could slow this process down is the post office's ability to process this many priority envelopes in a day (I live in a small town). They know these are coming, but doubtful they think we could get 2,000 to them in a day. They could be in for a surprise Thursday/Friday.

I will update this as I know more. I think people should plan on a Friday mailing date meaning most people will receive US orders by Wednesday or Thursday next week at the latest.

Next year, we have agreed to provide our own shipping directly from the printer. These were printed on the 3rd and should have already made it here in my opinion.
Actually Joe I work for the USPS,not UPS. When you drop them off at your local PO they have nothing to do with the delivery anyway. They will be sent to the nearest processing facility for handling, sorting and delivery Whether you bring 1 piece of prioriity or 3,000 it doesn't affect how or when they will be delivered,if anything when the processing plant receives that much priority all at once it will be processed immediately, any plant gives "priority" mail the utmost in care and processing, hence the name "priority". If your local Post Office branch gets the mags out on their first delivery truck(and if it's a small PO they probably only have one truck going out anyway) The pieces will be at the facility before 6:00PM that day and on their way out of the facility to their destinations by 9 or 10:00PM that night. Just to put a personal note in,anyone who read the detailed explanation above from Joe should know the lenghts FBG's goes to to make this service the best on the internet. Customer SERVICE is a forgotten attribute to a lot of companies these days. FBG delivers customer service and satisfaction at a very high level. In my adult life I can say that about a handful of companies I've dealt with. Keep up the good work FBG's!

I went to BN yesterday and they had NFL.com and Fantasy Sports (dated August) already on the rack. I can't believe NFL.com still had Jimmy Smith in the mag :X

Hi BT,That's the gamble you take when they go to press so early in order to try and get on the newstand early.

We went to press not knowing where Steve McNair would play this year. We barely were able to get Winslow and Onterrio Smith in under the wire last year.

Just about all the mags would have been in trouble if Roethlisberger's injury had been worse.

It's a tough balance.

Thanks M,That's good info to know about how the Post Office processes. Thanks for sharing. We'll get on these as quickly as we can for you guys. Thanks for the good words and thanks for hanging with us.

J

Sniff, I love you guys!!

Seriously, I'll be camped out by the mailbox.
Yep order mine on May 30th.... Hoping for that Golden Ticket! I want take home big pay day from that $1000 tournament.

Thanks Team Dingo. The printer is from the Midwest so I guess certain stores have already gotten them. They are not suppose to put them out until June 29th. We should have today or tomorrow in California. My parents have done everything we can to get all the envelopes ready to go out (once we have the magazines). This should go pretty quickly. I suspect that we will be mailing all the orders to date around Wednesday (if we get the magazine today or tomorrow morning).
Tell your parents much appreciated for their work. As for the other people complaining about stores receiving them early, give these guys a break. Year after year we gain valuable insight because of this site, hell, I'd even give footballguys $2 more and I'd wait till the day before my August drafts to receive the magazine....

 Joe and Dave. Just ordered mine.

GREAT decision to put Reggie on the cover - he is indeed the biggest "wildcard" in 2006 drafts and having the shot of him in the #5 jersey will make the issue a collectible 20 years from now when he's giving his induction speech.

Hello J,Agreed and keep up the great work, you can only control so much. No bitterness or dissapointments here. You'll continue to get my support. :football:

Just wanted to say that I think you guys are running your business very well. I like the product, and I think your refund policy is outstanding.

 Think of how many similar magazine publishers don't give their customers a five page thread in an online forum to complain about a point that will mean absolutely nothing this time next week.

:wall: Everyone that won't let it go that a couple of people find discomfort in the magazine being available before internet orders need to relax. I said I tended to agree with Defenze and I am entitled to that opinion. I did not make a rude or obnoxious comment. I even stated twice that I appreciate all they do. Defenze stated he wouldn't say anything more, and it was all in the past. Now, I think it is time you guys let it go. FBG stepped up to the plate with their customer service (again), and we are all looking forward to receiving the magazine. Being on the side of the FBG staff doesn't make it right to continually badger anymore than it would make it right for anyone else to continue to complain about the situation.

So, can't we all just get along? :hophead:

Nevermind, read the above explanation, will be looking for it on Tuesday or Wednesday of next week.

I'd gladly pay an extra $2 to get it earlier than most. Wait, already did :D

Anytime you employ your parents to help out, you're doing good

Thanks TG,I love the cover too.

And good news guys - the freight truck has called and David's making arrangements to pick up with. Should be able to hit the Friday shipping dates that we'd been hoping for. Hang on. Almost there.

Wooo hooo!

Just give a  to Joe and David for the excellent customer service. It is nice to know that you listen to everyone wether it be good or bad and do you very best to make everyone happy.

Now, can I please have a Golden Ticket?

RJ

Magazines are in Da House!

Just got back from picking them up. We will be shipping starting tomorrow.
You are keeping my dream alive. I have to visit the in-laws this weekend and I am counting on this...Thanks for the updates!

I have a feeling this magazine will rock. When checking to see if they were at BN I picked up nfldotcom to tide me over.

Check out some of their "Experts' Mock Draft" (10 Team League)

1.03 Peyton

1.04 LJ

2.04 Chris Brown

2.05 Ronnie Brown

You get the idea, I wonder if they have a return policy.

Thanks Joe and David.

Didn't buy mine online yet. I just never got around to it. If I buy tomorrow (Thursday) will it still ship Friday? Are there still some of the 3000 left to buy? I still want a chance at a golden ticket!

I guess I was just caught snoozing!

If you order by tomorrow you have an opportunity to get a Golden ticket. My parents and I stuffed over 1,000 envelopes tonight that will go out in the morning. The rest of the orders should likely go out on Friday.

:hey:

So....

What does one do when/if they get a Golden Ticket in their mag? While I imagine that you'll hear the shouting all across the country, is there a way that we're going to be able to check in? I'm only asking on the off-chance that I do get one.

 while I wait...

The inserts tell you to go to a webpage and there will be additional directions there to get the ball rolling for your free subscription, hat or shirt and league entry.

We are also recording what addresses we are sending all inserts too so if you don't contact us (via the web page info), we will be contacting you based on the email we have on file when you paid.

Interesting, so you already "know" who the lucky winners are...

I wonder if this is like the NBA Draft? There is Joe and Daivd and some auditors from Deloitte and Touce and a big drum of ping pong balls with our e-mail addresses on them.

Or is it like corporate trade show giveaways where they "select" a winner based on secret criteria like "who is most likely to buy our product?" or "who is in a position of influence to sing our praises?"...I guess we'll see when the winners are announced...

Hi code,No, totally at random. While I guess I'd prefer that lots of guys from here win the tickets, it's not in our control. Besides, unless Tommygunz's real name is Tommy Gunz, or I see a label addressed to Steve Bigbottom, I doubt I could make the connection even if I wanted to. ;)

Should be a pretty good Fathers day for FREAK, I get my father's day gift (Cornhole Set) along with footballguys mag. Although they may not come by fathers day nevertheless knowing they are in the mail gets me pretty excited.

Not that I would ever do this but how would fellow footballguys feel about a winning golden ticket going up for bid on e-bay by one of the winners?

The "Buy Now" would be like $1,000,000,000!

I had my parents add in all the inserts and they don't know who any of you are
BTW - I am stepping out to pick up something for Father's Day and needed to know what your dad would like (sky is the limit) as he stuffs those inserts. ;)

It was a great magazine last year, but I never got mine back when I loaned it to my brother. Hours of toilet entertainment lost. I wised up this year and ordered two.

I appreciate that you guys put in the effort to be the best. Now if you would only go back to the good old days, where it was all free.

Truth be told, you are less expensive than what I kick in donations to GBN (Great Blue North) to keep him from going subscription.

You can bet this will happen with at least one ticket.

What a nice Father's Day present if it comes in the mail today. I have been checking every day this week for my two I ordered. One for me and one for my sons to share. We have two opps for that Golden Ticket! Would love it if I got one of them.

2006 Fantasy Football Strategy Guide

Here is year two of our effort.  100,000 copies will be available at Barnes and Noble, Walmart and other outlets around July 1st.

The link above is how you can get the magazine 10 to 14 days early while gaining a lot of extra value by purchasing directly from us.
Is it available in Walmart in Quebec?
I think the magazine has limited distributuion in Canada. and it is not suppose to be on the news stands until June 29th

Hey FBG dudes:

I just got mine as well today - awesome looking and filled with great info BUT no golden ticket or inserts ...

I tell you --- that's it for me ... I will not buy next years magazine ....

.... until it goes on sale!

Jim

THANKS AND HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO ALL!

Was waiting in the mail for me when I got home from work today!!

One quick question, I ordered 2 of them, ( another for my co-owner ), I only recieved 1, so I am assuming the other one was shipped seperately ? So I can probably expect it to arrive early next week ?

TIA
