For the love of God, do not elect Hilary Clinton next election. (1 Viewer)

I can't believe how terrible my life has been under Obama. Let's see. Barry enters the White House at the beginning of the biggest fiscal collapse since the great depression. My retirement fund is in free fall. Housing values have collapsed. We are stuck in a quagmire in Iraq and Afghanistan. Bin Laden has been forgotten as W admits he doesn't even think about him much. Fast forward to today. I own a home i purchased at the bottom of the market and have a historically low interest rate and a large cushion of equity in it. My 401K has rebounded quite nicely as the stock market has recovered near record highs. We have pulled most of our presence out of the middle east and stopped wasting money and blood for pretty much nothing. Oh, we did get that Bin Laden guy. Employment is still soft but slowly recovering. Yeah, disaster.

Four more years.
  • Let's not forget that more Americans have health care today than at any time in our nation's history.
  • Gays can now proudly and openly serve in our military.
  • Gays in many states can now MARRY their partners.
  • Gasoline prices are WAY down.
  • The US Auto Industry did NOT die; it is in fact thriving.
  • Jobs are coming back to America.
  • Weed is legalized in two states with many more to follow!!!!!!!!
Yup, sure does suck now. THANKS OBAMA!
I don't know, that's kind of silly. I wouldn't really Obama credit for things that could be the economy running course by itself.

What is the longterm effect of everyone getting healthcare? Longterm effect of amnesty of illegals?

Those weed and gay success stories are a matter of opinion. I'd rather we have stuck to the status quo.

ISIS down?

Iran nuclear talks?

Low gas prices is more to do with a surplus than anything Obama did.
President McCain would have had us at war with Iran years ago. You would prefer that?

The only control Obama had on oil was how much federal lands would be allowed for oil companies to lease in the hopes of drilling. I believe since his term started federal lands leased is 70% below from when he started. The glut in oil, thus lower gas prices is a direct result of state & private lands leased to oil companies. Has NOTHING to do with Obama. Actually any President has very little to do with the price of oil.

Obama does not like oil. If he had his wish gas would be $10 a gallon.

This below comes from many, but not from an educated opinion or source.

Gas price high: Obama's fault
Gas price low: happened in spite of him

Gas price high: Obama's fault

Gas price low: happened in spite of him

Seems fair
This works both ways though. People are bragging about oil prices being low like Obama did that. He did that but he's not being held responsible for when they were high?

It really shows lack of causation to be as black and white as that. I'd much rather focus on the effects his policies like cash for clunkers or Obamacare have done than magnify the supply and demand of oil (which really has little correlation with anything Obama has done).

McCain's rhetoric was definitely hawkish...I'll give you that...I don't know if he would have the balls to goto war with Iran, but it seems we went from the optimism of the 'Arab Spring' to all ISIS all the time pretty quickly...At one point it seemed that the totalitarianism in Iran would fall, but now they are emboldened...

I just saw something that posted a poll that MSNBC did where 80 something percent voted "No" to the question of whether or not you plan on voting for Hillary. The only thing that would have not shocked me is if you got the same kind of result if Fox put up the poll. It can't be good for you if you are the presumtive nominee for the left party and the leading left leaning news org puts a poll up and you get blasted that badly.
Then you have nothing to worry about.
Yeah, no kidding. Sure does seem like Republicans waste a lot of butt hurt emotion on a woman who has no shot at being president.

Signed,

Guy who got suspended form this board several times for bashing Palin
I might have to make that my sig. Thats funny

Well, other than the GOP option of course. I have a feeling I'm going to be depressed again this election cycle.

W's uneeded foray into Iraq started the destabilization and gave Iran more power in the region. This led to all kinds of issues. And you can blame the incompetent cowards on the Iraqi army for the rise of ISIS. 30 thousand of them ran like little girls from a force of a few hundred. Made them rich and well armed in one go.

For the love of God, can't someone who starts a thread about Hillary at least get the spelling of her name right?

Well, other than the GOP option of course. I have a feeling I'm going to be depressed again this election cycle.Depressed, me too. Tonight, blessed with a 12 pack buzz & some incidentals, I'm rolling with the idea that some politician actually cares more about America than they do themselves.

Not surprising how hypocritical the Democrats are (FTR I hate them and Republicans equally)...

When McCain ran we heard so many times about him being too old for office. Interesting Hillary is only 2-3 years younger.

I ####### hate political parties, they're terrible for 'Murica as a whole.
Hillary's age came up last time and will again.
Yet she'll get the nomination and will absolutely be representing the hypocrites who blasted McCain.

HFS I hate these people. It works both ways, I'm sure the ####### Republicans would do the same.
Hillary has a longer life expectancy than McCain because (a) she's a woman, and (b) she didn't spend five years as a captive in North Vietnam, which can't be good for anyone's health. Also, she probably won't tag Sarah Palin as her running mate.
McCain has already exceeded the average American male life expectancy, so while I understand your logic, your point is technically flawed. Not the Palin part, would bang, would not vote for.

The only reason this dirty, slimeball, career politician wins is if there is no better option.
1969: worked her way across Alaska, washing dishes in Mount McKinley National Park and sliming salmon in a fish processing cannery in Valdez

1971: worked at the Yale Child Study Center,[37] learning about new research on early childhood brain development and working as a research assistant on the seminal work, Beyond the Best Interests of the Child

1971: interned at the Oakland, California, law firm of Treuhaft, Walker and Burnstein.

1973: volunteered at New Haven Legal Services to provide free legal advice for the poor

1970s: served as staff attorney for Children's Defense Fund

1974: became one of only two female faculty members in the School of Law at the University of Arkansas

1977: joined the Rose Law Firm

1978: board of directors of the Legal Services Corporation
 1978 was 36 years ago. I'd say that's long enough to call it a career. Once Bill became governor it's been politics ever since.

Can someone explain what the reason is to vote FOR her? Is there a single good reason?
You're probably not going to find somebody who can post the reason, but I know a guy who will find a million middling reasons to do so while making a FFA post about every one of them.

Can someone explain what the reason is to vote FOR her? Is there a single good reason?
You referred to her as a "dirty, slimeball, career politician" so it doesn't matter what reason or reasons one could come up, as you would never accept them anyway. Pointless to try to discuss anything with someone who starts with your biases towards Hillary. And people have brought up reasons in this thread and in others, but of course you completely ignored them.

Can someone explain what the reason is to vote FOR her? Is there a single good reason?
Laughing at conservative media absolutely losing their minds on a scale we have never seen is as good a reason as any. Just look at this spectacular coverage of her visit to Chipotle:

Clinton Bypassed Centrist Taco Bell for Liberal Favorite Chipotle

Chipotle Manager Says Hillary Didn't Tip

A good hearty laugh or two every day for 8 years it would be the greatest thing any president has ever done for me.

Anyone who's ever worked behind a counter for minimum wage maybe???

Maybe people who have made over $120 million in the last 10 years, those who head a $2 billion foundation, or maybe those planning to spend $2.5 billion on one campaign and are currently ranting about the struggles of the lower and middle class???

You called the story out for the bat#### insane nonsense it was, and then pretended it had substance less than ten minutes later. Stop it. I mean, I expect that nonsense from the vast right-wing conspiracy, but you're better than that.

Also, six question marks??? Are you really that incredulous???

I have never and will never tip anyone at a fast food or casual dining establishment. Frankly, the idea of a tip jar at the register in one of these places is off-putting to say the least. Seems greedy, needy and pushy. And in my parts, I've never seen one at the Qdoba I visit so it's also not common practice.

Fine. Certainly most folks just want some nicely set up sound bites and baby kissing the whole election cycle.

The most bizarre part of this entire story is that Hillary wasn't even the one who paid for the meal. How is it her fault for not tipping when she didn't even pay? Do facts matter at all anymore?

Tipping is for the little people

I make a lot of money. I always tip at these places. Always.

because in order to put myself through college, I worked full time delivering pizzas at minimum wage plus tips. I survived on the $20 of tip money I got on every shift. You have no idea how important $20 is to someone making minimum wage, someone that puts up with insane, #####y, whiney customers all day long. You tip because its your small way of saying thank you dude, for serving me and getting paid shinola for it.

This isn't a pizza delivery job we're talking about, it's a casual dining joint where the employees are paid at least minimum wage. If they want more money they can wither move up, move on or get a second job. Do you also tip at the grocery store?

:goodposting:

The story here is about how Hillary is a deadbeat who can't even spring for her own burrito, not that she didn't tip.

As I mentioned in the other thtead, I have never before seen a candidate for President, or anyone really, generate this level of minute attention and scrutiny. It's amazing. Obama was a huge star in 2008 but nobody cared where he ate or what he ate or the inside of his bus.

18 more months of this!

no, they aren't making minimum wage. someone at Chipotle is.

I tip at all restaurants, of any kind. I tip taxi drivers, barbers, door men, starbucks baristas, caddies, hunting/fishing guides, ushers, drug dealers and The Catholic Church

Well you're a good dude then. No sarcasm. I wish I could afford to be as generous.

You guys are focusing on the wrong burrito hot take. TIPGHAZI is all well and good, but the Wall Street Journal wrote up her choice of "liberal" Chipotle over "centrist" Taco Bell. That's amazing. I can't even make up something that stupid, and I'm fairly stupid. And from the Washington blog of the Wall Street Journal, of all places.

They always cover this sort of stuff. Wasn't there some story about John Kerry and John Edwards secretly having a lobster dinner?

The choice of Chipolte OR Taco Bell over American food like Denny's or McDonald's represents her pro-Amnesty, illegal alien bias.

Not like this. Edwards had a $500 haircut and that was news. If Edwards ate at Subway for lunch that's not news. Only Hillary gets this kind of attention.

I don't grt Chipolte anyhow. The food there is bleh, mediocre. Yet at lunch time it my neck of the woods it always has a long line of people, whereas other perfectly good Mexican restaurants nearby aren't crowded at all. What do people see in it? Reminds me of Olive Garden- always a big crowd there too.

The head of the Republican party apparently believes that the Chipotle trip is quite newsworthy and relevant.

Obviously, it's because Californians suck and have horrible taste.

1 you are going to have to show your work here

2 give you this one

3 no thanks to Obama on that one

4 that's like giving Reagan credit for ending Apartheid. Happened in spite of him and because his powers are limited

5 GM did in fact go through bankruptcy,....I don't see where McCain or Obama would have any significantly different process or result

6 if you mean undocumented people coming to America and taking low wage work from the poor, then yea

7 again, Obama really had little input here

A poll by Gallup found that the uninsured rate among U.S adults declined to 11.9% in the first quarter, down one percentage point from the end of last year and an improvement from the 18% without insurance in the fall of 2013, when the Americans were first were able to sign up for coverage at state and federal exchanges.

his is the lowest percentage of Americans without coverage since Gallup started tracking the figure in 2008. Those without coverage was just under 15% at that time, then remained in the range of 15% to 18% before it started declining sharply two years ago. The law requiring most Americans to have coverage or pay a penalty took effect at the start of 2014.
"An improving economy and a falling unemployment rate may also have accelerated the steep drop in the percentage of uninsured over the past year," said the Gallup report. "However, the uninsured rate is significantly lower than it was in early 2008, before the depths of the economic recession, suggesting that the recent decline is due to more than just an improving economy."

In 2001, Generac Power Systems joined the wave of American companies shifting production to China. The move wiped out 400 jobs in southeast Wisconsin, but few could argue with management's logic: Chinese companies were offering to make a key component for $100 per unit less than the cost of producing it in the U.S.

Now, however, Generac has brought manufacturing of that component back to its Whitewater plant — creating about 80 jobs in this town of about ‎14,500 people.

The move is part of a sea change in American manufacturing: After three decades of an exodus of production to China and other low-wage countries, companies have sharply curtailed moves abroad. Some, like Generac, have begun to return manufacturing to U.S. shores.
