Ford F150 Raptor (1 Viewer)

We got this set. It's pretty freaking comfortable. Feels durable enough. We'll see how many seasons it lasts...

Eventually my plan is to have some construction done to cover the patio where these currently reside with a roof and put in an outdoor fireplace, ceiling fan, hang a TV, and do an outdoor kitchen adjacent to all that. At that point We can throw down a rug and some nicer furniture that will be protected from the elements. For the money though, this set isn't bad.

Well, if you are going to be hauling wicker you should make certain you have heavy duty shocks and the highest payload capacity of any truck in its class.

I thought this was just going to be a toy, but if it is to be a working truck you need to up your game. I mean you don't want to be caught short if your wife buys a load of pillows and bedding from Bed, Bath, & Beyoncé`.

Just last weekend I had to rent a pickup at the local Home Depot to get a bunch of stuff home that we couldn't fit in the car. It was like 50 bucks plus 20 in fees and some silly has charge. That could have gone towards my car payment, brah.
What did you buy specifically? I'm really curious.
Patio furniture. All wicker, baby. And comfortable as all get out.
If you got it at HD, it's most assuredly not actual wicker.
Sorry I must have clicked into that Wicker Enthusiasts thread again.
Easy to do when you're leaving options like the 350 and 450 models on the table. Sorta makes it tough to take this whole thing seriously if we're being honest.

Otis, I'm here as a friend.

You started this thread about badass trucks. Now you're linking us to pictures of wicker patio furniture. Stay on target and remember the glory days.

YIC,

Ahrn

I'm hoping the next Dodge Ram commercial narrated by Sam Elliot can feature a vignette from the life and times of Otis.

Sam Elliot: Off road capable, you bet! (Video of Otis family pulling on to smooth, manicured lawn used as temporary parking for a golf or polo event. There should be velvet ropes and a red carpet area he pulls up to as a valet rushes to his door and another to his wife's side of the vehicle.

Sam Elliot: Pay load capacity, all you will ever need and more! (Video will feature Otis hauling wicker furniture, then bedding, and finally a six pack of fruity beer, a carton of tuna, and a bag of apples.

Sam Elliot: Towing, like a boss! (Video will show Otis driving in a Memorial Day parade, towing his daughter in a wagon festooned with crepe paper and small American flags. As video fades we will see him flagged down by a cop who is going to ticket him for towing around a child.)

Sam Elliot: Dodge Trucks. Otis tested, Otis approved!

Raptors are badass.

My IT guy drives one with about $100k worth of modifications. It looks like it should be on some dirt road in Baja.
Odds it has ever touched dirt?
He takes it to off road events in Texas quite often. I saw him yesterday in the parking lot and he mentioned that he had messed it up a bit by getting mud stuck in the fan and causing it to overheat. He also showed me a picture of it with all four wheels off the ground coming off of a dirt ramp.

So, yeah, it's "touched dirt".
Awesome!

My aunt/uncle have that exact set. It is pretty awesome and has lasted them a few years now. That spinner likes to spin you on it's own if it's not sitting perfect level, FWIW.

Another use I have for the truck is for landscaping stuff. Every spring I go to the local nursery and gardening place and there are a ton of trees and plants I want to buy, but I can only fit like three things in the car. Annoying. With a pickup? Oh man, I'd blow a grand on that stuff and my property would look like an ornamental plant forest.

What is the difference between the raptor and the regular f150

I have been trying to find one of these things with the big grille but I havent yet

Am I in the minority that think Ford Raptors are awesome?
Great truck for its intended purpose. Overpriced, but awesome indeed.

I think Otis should get one. He has the means to indulge himself, and he works hard, so why not play hard, and well. I'm just busting on him a bit for the justifications other than he just wants it. True, it may have some very minor utility for him, but that is not at all why he wants it. He wants it because its awesome, so just own the desire without rationalizations. I like Type A personality Otis. Marriage has turned him into type A-/B+ Otis. He needs to get off the porch and to run, unapologetically, with the big dogs.

Yep.

Very cool truck for the purpose.... a purpose which is NOT 6 trips a year to Home Depot for mulch and potted plants :)

It's a fast ### truck built for baja style racing. The payload is very low for a pickup (only about 650lbs of cargo with Otis and his wife in the cabin) . The suspension on this thing is NOT built to haul stuff... but to float over dunes.

I'm under no delusions here, sir. I want it because it's awesome. Not practical. Not fuel efficient. Not because of how it looks in the driveway or what the neighbors think. Purely because it's awesome. And because I can, should I ever so choose, drive over the rest of the cars on the road like Bigfoot over some Volgswagens.

Awesome.

If she's anything like mine, roughly 1/2 an Otis

This is actually dead on accurate.

some guy brought one of these out on the race track with bfg half moons. I was blown away how fast it was on the strait away. Those things are no joke.

I saw a guy driving a Raptor at Lake Winnipesaukee yesterday. The truck screams "Hey look at me!". Seems like a perfect fit for the OP.

There's one in my neighborhood. Across the back window is an Oakley oval "O". The color matches the truck perfectly.

Obviously, this is a no-brainer for you.

Was on the beach this weekend and saw a big ole truck camper get stuck. Several trucks stopped to assess the situation, but none seemed willing to give it a shot. Finally some dude in a Raptor pulls up. We all knew he was dying to save the day. He backed up to the camper, hooked up a tow rope and gave 'er hell. The camper moved about 2 feet and stopped. The Raptor threw sand everywhere for about 10 seconds and was buried to the axles. No less than 5 rednecks stood there and video taped the entire event. Took them a good 2 hours to dig everyone out. Good times.
