Forgot to take my Ritalin today (1 Viewer)

Holy hell. Sometimes I need a Ritalin just to remind me to take my Ritalin. It's probably been a couple of years since I forgot to take one before work.

Usually, if I'm really tired, I'll take it before I leave for work. But usually I take it when I get to work. Today, I did neither. I spent the first part of the day all over the place. I had a bunch of work to do and I just couldn't wrap my head around getting it done in a timely and orderly fashion.

On top of that, I've been visiting the vending machines every 30 minutes buying snacks because I'm starving. Around noon, my boss asked why I hadn't sent out the daily morning report I usually do and I was like, "WTF? How did I forget to do that?" So I started working on it and when I was done, I was amazed how slow the day was going. Turns out I forgot to take lunch.

That's when it hit me. I forgot to take my Ritalin. Now it's 3 pm and I feel like I just want to lay down and go to sleep.

It's days like these that I wonder how I ever made it through life prior to the meds.

I would think taking those things everyday can't be healthy. Its like snorting blow everyday. Eventually your heart is going to explode.

I try to tell people all of the time: If you had to live between the choice of taking a medicine that helped you or not taking it, the choice becomes pretty easy.

Do you have to take sleeping pills to go to sleep after being jacked up all day?

No. I used to take Ambien, but not because of the Ritalin. I have pretty bad ADHD so I take a pretty high dose of Ritalin. Doesn't affect my sleep.

i need to see my doc about this. I find it very hard to concentrate as throughout the day. It is always a constant struggle to remain focused.

This was the greatest thing ever for me.

Before Ritalin, I read maybe a grand total of 2 books. And it was a chore. Since then, I've discovered a whole new world reading. Being able to problem solve at work has also helped my career immensely.

Get yourself one of these little pill holders. If you 'forget' then remember later, you have the pill.

Another thing is to get an app like this (I put up an iOS one since this is what I have) and it will 'remind you' to take your medicine.

I have to take meds daily for seizures and these help.
