Slight Hijack...

I think this situation is telling, in terms of the divorce rate discussed in that other thread.

I am being a hypocrite, cause I also felt...RUN!

But it seems like one of the 1st instincts is to end the marriage when a big issue arises.

Yes this is a big issue, but if all is true, she didn't actually do anything, and yet we all would advise to start planning the getaway route.

The 1st issue doesn't seem to be, lets work this out.

Granted the "old days" people did just stick it out whether good or bad.

Some case got better, some got worse, but it does seem in todays time, there is a lot less tolerance to try to work something out

Is this phenomenon strictly limited to the World of Warcraft or do people use other online games as dating mediums?
I had no idea you were looking. Do you have plans Friday night? I could find a third person and you could choose between the two of us.
I guess you didn't know I was looking because I've been piddling my time away at Internet Reversi trying to meet women. I always thought the "It's your turn." line was straight :construction: , but I guess all the cool chicks have been doing this World of Warcraft thing. As fas as Friday goes you need to get another guy. You know I only pick between male couples.

Also, is this something dating websites should seek to incorporate? Join Match.com! and get one free month of World of Warcraft! Take our personality test and we'll place you in the guild with others most like you!
After I stopped laughing I began to think this might not be such a bad idea.
Obviously I meant it to be taken in humor, but I really think it would work. There has to be pretty good odds that online dating users overlap with online gamers.

Wife (6/12/2008 10:37:11 PM): only if you want me. i won't push anything. you have to really want me

Wife (6/12/2008 10:38:39 PM): I may chicken out anyway. keep in mind. I haven't been with another man in 17 years.

Other guy (6/12/2008 10:38:56 PM): true
I know its hard to do, but look on the bright side. She hasn't cheated on you yet. you had 17 years of the good stuff. Or

She could be doing what I have done before, and when i found my GF putting on chat logging, over and over, i finally just set up a fake convo and let her blow up on me. when she did, i showed her i was both sides of the conversation, and she needed to trust me more. I mean, i did end up cheating on her later, but completely besides the point :construction:

This is Mrs. Crimson Hawk. I've read all your replies....and they ARE justified. My chat looked EXACTLY like I was going to run off and have an affair. I WASN'T but it sure looked that way and I regret hurting my husband. And, yes, I would care if my husband cheated on me. it would hurt like hell. His asking women on dates hurt me terribly.

Someone asked...if you've been married 17 years and she hasn't cheated in 17 years then who did she sleep with before the wedding. For the record....we've been married 13 years and but have been together a total of 17 years. I have never, and never will, cheat.

Also, we have 3 kids.

As for the trip. I really was going to see a new friend (a girl if you're wondering). But only with his permission. When he said he didn't want me to go I canceled the trip.

And, just because I play Wow doesn't make me a skank...I'm actually very pretty.

But, I did flirt HEAVILY and I took it way too far. I have admitted this to hubby, I have apologized for hurting him, and I am willing to work things out with him...if he will. I've got too much time invested in our relationship to throw it all away on a one night stand.

There is a Lot more to this story than was posted. Things haven't been the best between us for a while. Neither of us have cheated....but I've not been happy and I jumped at the chance for someone to make me at least smile. It was VERY wrong of me and I regret it terribly. Not because I got caught....that's not it at all. I regret hurting my husband and our marriage by taking things too far in chat. And I am very willing to take counseling if that's what it takes to make our marriage better. And, I'm not laying blame....no one made me do this...I flirted like that of my own free will. My rocky marriage is no excuse for what I did.

I know how my chat sounded...it did sound like I was going to run off to some other guy. Hubby said the evidence was damning. But I really wasn't going to. I know in my heart that nothing would have ever happened even if none of you (or hubby) believe me. The way I feel about my husband would have prevented me from doing anything with another man. I love him too much to actually cheat.

Think what you will of me.

Thanks for listening.
Maybe you secretly wanted to get caught, hoping it would eventually lead to addressing the real problems with your marriage. You guys need to immediately get to a counselor. With hard work and dedication you can have a better marriage. Good luck to the both of you.

Am I overreacting? Keep in mind this was only part of the conversation all typed while I was in the room with the kids.
I went through a very similar situation back about 10 years ago.I ended up becomming friends with this couple (they had 2 kids) that chatted. They invited us (me and my live in GF at the time) to go boating with them. I had met the wife at a "chat party" a few months before, but I went to meet her sister, so she and I saw each other but didn't talk. before we ended up going boating with them, the wife from the couple and I ended up talking about sex online. We end up going boating with them and the wife is just giving me all these naughty looks and whatnot. So nothing happens that day. A few days later, she drives down from where she lives (about an hour away) to give me a BJ in a parking lot behind the mall near where I worked. I ended up lying one night and said I was going golfing. The wife ended up saying she was going to a friends house, so she went there alone and I went up to meet her. Her friend let us use her bedroom and well you know what we did. anyway, try to make a long story short. I ended up having like a 3 month affair with her and the husband ended up finding out. Things didn't end well. He threatend me, but nothing ever came of it. They ended up staying together and I ended up leaving my GF like a year later, because she wouldn't let me live it down.

This was my 1st escapade with a married woman I met online, but it was not my last. I was single for a few years and you would not believe the # of married lonely women that sit home and watch the kids while daddy is at work. You wouldn't believe how easy it is for a married wife/husband to cheat because of the internet without their spouse ever finding out.

I guess you have to use common sense. If it seems like things are that bad and you're worried about it. Your instincts are probably right
This may be fun, but it's got to be pretty dangerous. It seems like every week you hear about some nut job husband killing his whole family.
Last time I did anything like it was around 2002. I starting chatting April 1995 (I was 22) on prodigy chat and I was pretty addicted till around 2002. No one made me stop, I just got to the point where it wasn't fun anymore. Many, many people have told me I should write a book about my many excursions that happened because of chat. It was fun, for sure. I was very immature and selfish and I hurt a lot of people along the way . if I had to do it all over again I would change a lot.

One of the funniest things I can tell you about the whole experience. My very 1st ever chat name was BManilow22.
Don't write that book.

I was trying to be open minded in not calling this one :lmao: The charade is over though.
Yup - thinking the same thing. Should have waited till Friday.Actulaly - I am fairly sure I know where he came up with the story if this is in fact a fishing trip. Anyone here play Grant Theft Auto IV? This sounds somewhat like an episode of "Judge Brown" on one of the "fake" radio stations in the game. "The reason why you husband is running around with his elf junk is because you got old and fat".

lol. sure honey. You can lie to your husband, and he'll probably give you the benefit of the doubt, but your full of #### and you know it.

If this is real, which I doubt, maybe we should focus on the fact that she was surfing this site on his account.

Right, meanwhile she has to turn off her chat logs so HER online activity can be kept a secret. Awful. I'd bet she is feeling under-appreciated and feels like her husband thinks she is unattractive. I bet she doesn't like to have sex as much anymore with her husband becuase she's too busy fantisizing about another man.Trust me on this.... It won't end well for you guys Crimson Hawk.

I can't imagine what kind of idiot would use text messaging as a means to cheat with someone.if you're going to cheat and you are in a commited relationship, you absolutely never give them your cell phone # or home #. There is no reason they would ever need it. They don't need to get in touch with you that bad and they could always call or text you when you're not near your phone and your wife/husband will find it. Tell them you will call them and when you call them from your cell phone, dial *72 1st and they won't see your #. If they aren't cool with that, find someone else to cheat with.

With hard work and dedication you can have a better marriage.
It shouldn't take hard work.
wait. what?
If it is that difficult to make a relationship work...everyone is better off if the relationship ends.
every relationship takes work.
that's true.Cheating on someone without getting caught takes even more work and leaves less time to work on the relationship.

Not a relationship. Fixing a relationship takes hard work. People get into bad habits over the years -- habits of disrespect, lack of attentiveness, lack of intimacy, etc.

You can get away with this stuff as long as you're careful. I've been involved in an extra-marital situation before, and both parties just had to be sure to delete texts and emails immediately upon receiving. :shock:Not a best practice, though, that's for sure. People tend to get careless.

This is Mrs. EYLive,

It all started so innocently... I began playing a Gilligan's Island werewolf game on a message board. Then one thing led to another, and before I knew it, I was removing my iPanties for CYP in chat...

I regret hurting my hubby... :hophead:

Yes, bring in Joey Greco!

I assure you all that this was no fishing trip.

We fought for four days over this. I actually left her once but came back. :wolf:

Everytime I would think we had started to work things out something would set us off again (like when she found the severed web cam cable a couple of days later).

On a positive note I think we are going to be OK. I am willing to give her the benefit of the doubt (once) since I don't want to lose my family. Especially since she didn't physically DO anything.

Her little trip is definitely OFF. We are sending the kids to the grandparents for a week and I am going to spend next week's vacation with my wife trying to work things out. I am also seeking help with my previosuly diagnosed "mood instability" issue. I am also looking into counseling for both of us.

I let her use my account to read what I had posted.

That being said I still feel a little bit like Kobe's wife. My wife bought me my epic mount for Father's day. :hifive:
