I've done it plenty enough. Since covid I rarely use the handle just to avoid where everyone else's hands went. Though I tend to push on the frame higher above the handle. But there's times I'll use my whole forearm on the glass, especially if my hand is full.

I admit I tend to go high on the door frame. You make a compelling argument.

I have to laugh because I do the EXACT SAME thought process when approaching a door out in public.

Same, if it's a Pull handle then I grip it at the very bottom where people usually don't. And will use the left hand door if no one else is coming for even less hand traffic.

In all seriousness if you travel a lot and find yourself in a situation of using even a USB outlet not of your own, like ones in an airport for you to plug into to charge, consider getting a USB data blocker that blocks anything but power transfer from making it through the cable to your phone. They are cheap and worth the price of safety.
